Ive been riding the vitpilen 401 for 2 months. Mostly in the city but also a couple of longer rides, 250km+. Havn't experienced any pain in my back or neck, guess it's individual but i really don't mind:) using it daily.
Same, I’m not tall 179…maybe 180, I use mine as a daily commuter. Maybe it’s because I don’t travel far or because most of my grip on the bike is with my legs, I find it very comfortable and more comfortable than Svartpilen at higher speeds. Only issue I have is if I fit a tiny windshield I don’t think my helmet fits behind it tucked in. 😂
Honestly, this was one of the best reviews I've seen on any bike. Well done, my friend. Thanks. Also.... I think I need the Svartpilen. T Thanks for all the great information.
I have the 250cc vit and believe me it's a great bike both in terms of styling which is futuristic and handling but the only drawbacks I faced as a user was it feels heavy although it's not but due to the forward positioning of the CG and the handle bars on the Vit which ultimately makes your hand ache after a 30 min ride tops. Rest everything is precision engineering and headlight is better than some of the cars out there literally damn bright
I recently went to the dealership to finally see how this bike looks. And I have to say that just mounting and sitting on the bike, i immediately noticed and felt the heaviness that you were referring to...I then sat on Svartpilen and the feeling was really different. So much different.
Rode the Vit 4.500km from Antwerp to rome 2 years ago. Including some offroad, and a loooot of twisties. Don't forget a heap of luggage on the rear. It's not as uncomfortable as people keep saying, really. Didn't have a single day where my back was hurting. Just the wrists were a bit sore in the first 3 days, as I wasn't used to it.
My favorite by if I had the money. I've always wanted this ever since it got released. Perfect analogy with the black coffee. Love the review and congrats on scraping the belly pan
I bought a 2020 Vitpilen 401. Fantastic package for the price. Extremely fun. Edit: I love the bike more everyday! Fully adjustable front and rear suspension at $5300. Are you kidding me!! Both levers are also adjustable. Electronic throttle is super smooth at all speeds. Plenty of torque throughout the rpm range. It also comes with a full tool kit which includes a spanner for the rear suspension preload adjustment, pliers, 4 different torx and 2 hex sockets, 8mm allen wrench. OMG. This is such a cool bike!
@@Dan440-R I am 171 cm. The seat is firm but my butt didn't get sore after 2 hour ride. I am used to leaning forward from riding road bicycle. I find upright sitting bikes uncomfortable so I find Vitpilen very natural for me.
It actually feels oddly comfortable for a racy geometry bike. Its low but its reach is closer that most sports bike. It felt like a well fitted road race bicycle on my body. Aggressive but the weight is evenly distributed around my shoulders, forearms and chest. Contemplating to Swap my Svart for a Vit but Metro Manila traffic makes the decision tricky lol.
Nice review! Love the cafe racer look of this bike. Btw, is it "silver arrow" or "white arrow"? I think i've heard people use both. Regardless, thanks for the review!
White arrow. Vit = White, Silver is the same word in Swedish and English (although pronounciation differs). The model Svartpilen means the Black arrow.
Great video, gonna start saving my pennies. I never noticed before that the logo is a barrel + sights. Maybe a reference to the fact that they produced submachineguns and such for the swedish army in the 40s.
this bikes caught my eye for a little while now and i’m really debating it for this summer, only thing i was wondering how is the ride due to how the bike sits? is it too uncomfortable or doable for the most part? thanks
@Jordan Cleveland it depends on the person imo. if you can deal with back pain after long rides and take time to stretch often go for it. if not then get something more upright
It does come with a quickshifter. I have one and it has a quickshifter. You have to be fast enough to use it. For it to be comfortable on the back and arms, you have to learn how to hold the bike with your legs than your hands. Also the controls need to be adjusted to fit arms’ angle. I love this bike and you are right with your review, definitely grabs a lot of eyeballs.
Watched this review multiple times now… first time i’ve watched this i’m thinking if i’ll buy, i’ll get the svart… but now, damn the vit really looks badass! Im half hearted now 😅… i’m starting to lean on the “expensive toy” statement hahaha
In the research I have been doing on this bike, one video caught my attention, some guy had swapped the handlebars on his Vitpilen for a Svartpilen handlebar and it looked alot more comfortable and functional for it's seating position.
You get a workout riding this bike. After a week, you don’t notice it, unless you take a break from riding for a while. I have back problems, but this bike doesn’t activate any of it, and I’m 6’2 riding this small bike. Ride it daily to work, about 30 min, no fatigue. Would get annoying riding for a more than 1 hour though.

the pricing for these 401's in the philippines is atrocious considering they are locally assembled. they removed the wire wheels and quick shifter and kept the price super high. compare it to india where both are also locally assembled. but the ktm and the husky counterpart is relatively the same price. here, if you want a husky version of a duke 390. you would have to pay, at minimum, an extra 50k for the svartpilen and a little more for the vit.
