    The little Vitpilen doesn't just look good. It's also a great and surprisingly sporty ride. Not just because of its aggressive seating position. It actually provides a lot of stability while cornering. Plus it gives quite the transparent feedback in the front which is rather rare in the A2 bike sector. Braking takes little effort on the lever, the gearbox works fine too. The only situation in which this bike doesn't perform well is on bad roads. Its suspension setup is rather stiff and works great for quick riding. But only as long as the road is somewhat smooth. As soon as it gets rough you'll realize that its suspension components don't do enough on the damping side. On really bumpy bits the whole rear starts to bounce up and down quickly and the backwheel starts to lose contact with the road surface actually. Other A2 bikes offer better suspension. But that's basically the only downside. Apart from that the Vitpilen is nothing but pure riding joy!!

    WIGGLE WIGGLE! Enjoy! I used the chest mount btw because with that one it was easier to get a decent POV.

    Just put the first 1600km on my 2021. Love this bike. I agree with the suspension being very stiff, even though I haven't adjusted it much. The roads here in Hawaii are miserable sometimes but the lightness of the bikes makes flicking in and around potholes fun and manageable. Only complaint is that I do wish the hight of the bike was a bit higher or peg position was moved up a bit so that I could go full lean without scraping pegs. I get compliments on how good the little 373 cc chainsaw looks all the time.

    This is what's been carrying me through the winter period for the last 2 years :D Thanks for recording this, also it was the perfect road to ride with the Vit! I put some new Bridgestone S22s on mine for this season + Galfer sintered sport/race front/rear brake pads and this thing can now gain a serious amount of speed through the corners, with confidence :) people usually say that their back or wrists hurt after riding a Vit but for me, it's usually the face that hurts, from all that maniacal grinning under the helmet :D

    This is why I prefer smaller bikes... you got to use the whole motor and shift through all the gears. That little single makes a satisfying internal combustion sound, you can tell it's tuned to the nut. I have a Vitpilen 401 myself. And we have roads like the one in this video... so life is pretty good.😊

    I literally rashed in the upcoming hairpin 2 weeks ago with my MT-07 due to the gravel laying on the street.
    Always keep an eye open on the road conditions and if there is anything on the street, what can cause trouble.
    Result of my crash: - 1x Bent clutch lever
    - 1x Bent gear lever
    - 1x Scratched fairing
    At least nothing happend t me, as my corner speedwas just about 20 - 30 kph.

      yup, they are a little too expensive IMO

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 6 років тому +1

      It's nice that a mid-sized engine (650-700cc) bike can be given the total premium treatement straight from the factory, but you're right. I think the buyer for these machines is someone with financial means obviously, but also looking for a showpiece that also performs. It's not a touring bike. It's not a superbike. It's not a dual sport. It's not a supermoto. It's a classic interpretation of an essential motorcycle, back to basics appeal, with premium and modern technology. It's appealing. Yet my bank account does not approve.
      The cheap person in me buys an MT-07 and fits it with fork cartridges, rear shock, custom seat, rearsets, quickshifter, HH pads, braided lines, exhaust, intake, ECU flash, sticky tires, and just has a ball for as long as the bike allows.

    • @ChrisAkAxTr3Me
      @ChrisAkAxTr3Me 6 років тому

      Lifted_Above I totally agree. I also bought the MT07 because it is much cheaper and it is easy to ride, has an awesome engine.. But it needs some tuning, e.g. better suspension. The stock one from the 2018 modell is too harsh on bad roads. Other parts only need to be changed because of a different personal preference IMHO.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 6 років тому

      2018 MT-07 is much improved in suspension action, and I like the new looks much better. But I'd still dump the stock fork guts and pop in some cartridges, as well as swap the shock. Once you've felt the high quality feel of plush yet firm damping from upgrades, it's hard to like stock anything.

    • @ChrisAkAxTr3Me
      @ChrisAkAxTr3Me 6 років тому

      Lifted_Above the comparison might be invalid but from my mountainbike I know high quality forks and struts with adjustable high and low speed compression and rebound... With feels much better once you got everything dialed in.
      Now for the MT07 I am not sure if I should go for Wilbers or Oehlins...
