The most important thing you want out of this keyboard are the sounds, playability and the special little features that come with a quality beginning entry level keyboard. What you don't want is to be bogged down in lesson material that has to be accessed through the keyboard menus when you can get comparable materials from outboard vendors that would satisfy your need without cluttering up your memory. Or so i think... Jeremy your take om this?
I’ve been struggling trying to find an entry level keyboard with MIDI that’s not geared towards children or other beginners. Thank you for the very insightful video!!! It helped me narrow down to the Casio.
I have Casio ctk 860in. Which has pitch blend, touch sensitivity, backlight, midi etc, and with virtual hall option it sounds really amazing. And it was of same price range as of above keyboards. I am really happy. Btw amazing vedio as always.
Hey Jeremy ! I'm currently looking at keyboards and trying to decide which one would be the best (second instrument for a guitarist). Your videos help a lot, thank you so much :)
Glad you are here after buying 3 keyboards that looked good but did not have much polyphonic or chance to improve with sustain peddle or midi it came down to casio or Yamaha for I bought the Yamaha psr290 I would be willing to watch you go through the history of Psr keyboards you make good educational videos I feel happy my keyboard at least let's get a idea of features a keyboard can offer😀🤗
You can still find Casio CTK-6250s out there for about $230. Comparing it to the CTX-700, the sound engine is not as good, but if you aren't bent on the most realistic sounding instrument for this price range, it is a much more capable device. The very powerful interface can be a bit cumbersome, but having so many ways to customize the device really adds a lot of value.
@@HubertEtAlice I agree, if you have a bit more cash to spend the CT-X3000 is great buy as well. A few positives for each. Hello. I am a complete beginner in playing a full sized keyboard. However I am a singer myself. I shortlisted the Casio CTx870 and the Yamaha PSRe363. Now I am super confused on which one to buy since I don't understand those complicated pros and cons that well. Pls help me choose one since I need to buy my keyboard in the next month. Thank you. You r a great teacher :))
I bought a Roland FP-30X last month for my full keyboard and acoustic piano emulator. After much research looking into low end portable keyboards I just bought a barely used Casio CT-200 largely to take to my group vocal class at local senior center to play chords. After trying to look into and assess all sorts of models of 61-key and smaller keyboards, I have a peeve, and it is not against you, Jeremy. The promotional material for these keyboards is short on certain specific technical information of importance to an adult buyer, whether beginner or advanced. What do we have a hard time finding out? First of all, they don't tell us what the keyboard action is. Is the keyboard unweighted, semi-weighted or weighted? What is the size of the keys? Is there any touch sensitivity, and if so what kind? What is the sound generator (processor)? Then there are things of interest to more advanced musicians. What are the input and outputs? Is the instrument MIDI capable? It is never going to be possible to get everything at the low end price point, but it would be nice to know what you are getting from a technical point of view. You, Jeremy, and the other people who do assessments, reviews and comparisons of digital keyboards at various price points are influencers. All of you need to harp on this issue until the manufacturers and major retailers do something about it. I believe I ultimately made the right choice for my purposes particularly considering that easy portability and spending $80 US or less was a high priority for me. I have only had the instrument for three hours, and I have spent most of that time typing on the computer keyboard and making a late meal, not playing or practicing on the Casio, but I have an observation to make already. As musical instruments these low-end keyboards may have their deficiencies. The Casio is quite adequate for the purpose of playing exercises and scales though, and I assume that any low-end keyboard with adult-sized key would also be just as adequate. I also got a single-beam X stand and the plastic music stand thrown in with the keyboard. I wasn't expecting anything but the keyboard.
Hey Jeremy, I love your videos, I've been using a psr e303 for about 12 years and I want an upgrade, my budget is between 1000 to 1300USD. I however would like a 88 key weighted hammer action keyboard which has similar functions as that of a psr sx700 or a korg pa600
Hey Jeremy, would love to know what you think about Roland Go Keys for a beginner. It seems like a decent compromise between a good sound (piano and synth sounds), and edgy, simple intuitive design. Thank you so much!
So, my son is has never played piano before, but wants to learn for the purposes of creating a digital soundtrack for a computer game he's creating. What would be the best keyboard/midi option for both learning & being productive towards this goal?
Hey Jeremy, I am looking for the keyboard with the best overall sound quality. The other features aren't as important to me but I still would like to have them. What would my best option be?
Oh, before watching this video, I already got the Casio LK-280. It has touch sensitive keys, microphone input with volume control, USB port, SD Card slot, audio in, phones/audio out, pedal in, lighted keys, AC/DC, 48 poliphony, 600 tones, 180 rythms, 152 songs, 5 track recorder, step-up lesson system, syncro music reading from IPad with auto page turning, accepts and plays midi songs from SD Cards for listening or for lessons. Only missing Dance mode. How much do you like it?

Love your voice, thank's. I'm having trouble finding a keyboard with mic input, only LK S 250?) I am beginning and like a quality sound. Use to sing in Vegas a long time ago, that's why I wanted a mic input with a quality sounding, inexpensive, keyboard?)
Hi! I just found you channel and this video helped me a lot. I have a question. Yamaha PSR F52 is good for a begginer? I wanna buy it but I want your opinion, Thank you so much!
@Jeremy See thank you for this video and all the helpful information. Which of these keyboards have the best / most qualitative keys? (especially between the ct-x700, e363 and p12)
Hi Jeremy. Stumble upon your videos while searching what keyboard should I get for my 5 years old son. I just enrolled him into Little Mozart as he says he like to learn piano. Initially, set my eyes on Casio CTK 3500 as I'm not sure if he will stay on with his likes on piano. After watching your videos, seems like Casio CTX700 is a better catch. Then, more confused (me confusing myself) with the sweet sounding of Yamaha PSR E-363. Just want to ask your opinion if I should go with CTX700 or CTK 3500 (or maybe PSR e363)? He is only in his 3rd month and I'm looking at something that is useful for him and maybe able to get him to Grade 1 or 2 before upgrading to a 88 keys if he is really into piano for good. Thanks in advance and looking forward to your professional advise. Keep up the good video coming. Cheers.
Please is the Yamaha PSS A50 Good for me someone who is a beginner and in future if I am used to it and I get and advanced keyboard won't it be problem for me?
Im 18yrs old keyboard player but i haven't a keyboard because my parents have no money to buy it : ( i just learned from borrowing a keyboard. I wish i have my own keyboard because it is very useful to me specially when we are having a choir at the church.
When I was growing up we didn’t have money for musical instruments. I always wanted piano so when I went to church I’d pick out keys play song. My first was “hand in hand with Jesus “I was 9 yrs old. Keep practicing God will bless you with your own. I’m 70 yrs old next mo. I’ve had 5 pianos 5 keyboards.
As expected, a good and balanced survey. By discussing the pluses and minuses of each the viewer is in a good position to choose the instrument best suited to their needs and ambitions.
Thank you for your kind words my friend. Quite a number of keyboards from my last list 8 months ago are no longer in production. Hope this list can help people out there if the UA-cam algorithm picks it up.
@@JeremySee There are two big problems with UA-cam; the workings of its algorithms and the often senseless blockings that occur. At least you are spared the latter. Keep up the good work, your videos are a valuable source of info, with many particularly useful for people on limited incomes.
Hi Jeremy I love all your videos. I was wondering if you could please give me your advice. I'm not a beginner player, I play by ear and compose my own music that way. For years I used a regular piano but since I moved I needed to buy a portable one. I bought the Yamaha 363 because I was also looking for something that had beats as well.. a year later my Yamaha 363 started sounding warped so I have to return it. I like that it was affordable but went bad quick. Not sure what brand keyboard I should buy next. I would be willing to pay more but my biggest thing is I like and need a good piano sounding keyboard that comes with beats since I add them in with my music. Having a hard time deciding so I hope you can help and give me your advice. Thank you and I hope you have a safe and Happy New year! 🎉🎆🎆🎆
The first one sounds amazing, but I’m looking for an electric keyboard because my home piano’s keys (full size) are too big for my hands to play the songs I want. Is there a mini key version with the same features/number of keys? I don’t mind paying a few extra dollars.
Interesting video. Makes this old guy want to attempt learning keyboard. Are you aware of any keyboards or electronic pianos, 88 key, with smaller keys for smaller hands? My son in law is/was an advanced player but with small hands found it painful to stretch out his fingers and as a result quit playing. Thanks in advance.
Pretty sure Casio X700 should be able to release a patch to reassign the lessons buttons to controlling layer volumes etc, if enough people request it.. 🤔 That seems to be the biggest Con vs the Yamaha?
Awesome video! I'm a newbie on the piano keyboards area... Which of these keyboards is the best to play witch synthesia or "normal"/electric piano? (Sorry if I said something wrong, again I'm a newbie who wants to start learning piano. I hope you can answer my question, thanks
Srry for my english, maybe you said it in the video but wich one would you say has the better "Grand piano" sound? the CT x700 PSRE 363 or the NP12b? Thanks you Jeremy
At first i would like to choose casio CT-X 700 better than yamaha PSR E363 cause of the higher function and features, but when the last feature that it can be connected to a PC, damned i would have just turn into E363 now. I dreamed about producing music with DAW and this yamaha feature helped me a lot that maybe i don't even need to buy a MIDI keyboard anymore
I've watched many of your vids for beginners and it helps me decide which keyboard to buy for our church 👍 Which one should I go for? The Psr ew300 or psr e463? Thanks!
I think I'll go for better sound. I may be able to play most of modern christian songs with 61 keys. Thank you sir! I have so much to learn from your channel 😁
I am a beginner with interest only - have not yet made purchase. With that said, unless the Lesson Feature takes away from the possibility of adding pertinent features it should remain and be standard w/out extra cost or focus as a selling point. I think the majority of beginners with an appreciation for the Lesson Feature outweighs the fact that many are internet hooked and savvy.
Hi Jeremy, hope you are doing well. Has the Casio CT-X series key quality improved, especially in CT-X9000IN? As i often see people mention that the key's build quality on Casio is not a good as the ones on Yamaha.
Hi, could you please tell me which keyboard should I buy Is the Casiotone cts200c2 or the Yamaha PSR E263 better? I understand that touch sensitivity is very important, which of them has a better sensitivity? Or a better keyboard but one that is close to its prices?
The more I watch your videos the more I begin to understand about keyboards. However, I'm confused which keyboard to consider when all I want to do is to learn how to play. I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles. Which keyboard would you recommend for a mature adult that wants to learn to play popular songs. Thanks for your input.
I always see the Yamaha PSR-E363 is it the best keyboard for a starter or a beginner like me who doesn't know anything about instruments? I've played basic some basic ukulele but for a long time I'm interested in playing a keyboard piano
Hello good sir. Although keyboards aren't my thing I respect the time and effort you put in your work. Production value is great. That being said I really wanted to comment that the transition you use between cuts, the one that zooms/warps in/out, is quite straining on the eyes in my opinion. I found it quite disturbing! That being said I wish you good luck with the channel.
Another very helpful video, thanks Jeremy. Do you think there is any wisdom in holding off buying anything for a while? Would you anticipate any big upgrades or new releases coming from Casio or Yamaha in the next 6 - 12 months? Thanks.

Please make a video if Yamaha PSR E363 still worth it in 2020?
Keyboards that do not have MIDI or USB are far less valuable than keyboard that do just for $20~$30 extra
The first one sounds amazing, but I’m looking for an electric keyboard because my home piano’s keys (full size) are too big for my hands to play the songs I want. Is there a mini key version with the same features/number of keys? I don’t mind paying a few extra dollars.
Hey Jeremy I am an indian and I want to buy a piano for my 13 year old boy . So can you please advise which one should I buy the Casio ctx 700 or 800
go for ctx700 , if u are willing to upgrade later, after 1-2 year
@@rudraprasadpaudel7174 Thanks bro I bought it and it's coming tomorrow 😁😁😁
@@ajitchuri4152 hehe welcome , i wish i could buy ct-x700 as soon as possible , for how much u got ctx-700 , and are you loving it ?
Interesting video. Makes this old guy want to attempt learning keyboard. Are you aware of any keyboards or electronic pianos, 88 key, with smaller keys for smaller hands? My son in law is/was an advanced player but with small hands found it painful to stretch out his fingers and as a result quit playing. Thanks in advance.
Pretty sure Casio X700 should be able to release a patch to reassign the lessons buttons to controlling layer volumes etc, if enough people request it.. 🤔
That seems to be the biggest Con vs the Yamaha?
Awesome video! I'm a newbie on the piano keyboards area... Which of these keyboards is the best to play witch synthesia or "normal"/electric piano? (Sorry if I said something wrong, again I'm a newbie who wants to start learning piano. I hope you can answer my question, thanks
Im buying my first keyboard! Which is best: casio ctk-3000 or Yamaha psr e363?

At first i would like to choose casio CT-X 700 better than yamaha PSR E363 cause of the higher function and features, but when the last feature that it can be connected to a PC, damned i would have just turn into E363 now. I dreamed about producing music with DAW and this yamaha feature helped me a lot that maybe i don't even need to buy a MIDI keyboard anymore
hello ❤ jeremy please guide me which is better from roland rp 102 or 302 or from casio px 870
gracias Jeremy excelente vídeo.
forgot about kurzweil, kp 100/110 are some really solid products for their price
I've watched many of your vids for beginners and it helps me decide which keyboard to buy for our church 👍 Which one should I go for? The Psr ew300 or psr e463? Thanks!
Which is more important to you? Better sound or more keys?
I think I'll go for better sound. I may be able to play most of modern christian songs with 61 keys. Thank you sir! I have so much to learn from your channel 😁
I am a beginner with interest only - have not yet made purchase. With that said, unless the Lesson Feature takes away from the possibility of adding pertinent features it should remain and be standard w/out extra cost or focus as a selling point. I think the majority of beginners with an appreciation for the Lesson Feature outweighs the fact that many are internet hooked and savvy.
Thank you for the video - one question - is the term 'touch sensitive' is same as 'velocity sensitive' ? and what is weighted keys?
Velocity sensitive and touch sensitive are the same
Which one should I buy ?I just want good piano sound. Casio ctx 700, yamaha 363, casio tone cts300.
Casio CT-X700 has better piano sounds compared to Yamaha PSR-E363
Is the NP 12 suitable for mobile phone connection to use apps like Simply piano?
Just bought the Yamaha Psr-ew300 after you’re advice on it
Great choice!💪
Hi Jeremy, hope you are doing well. Has the Casio CT-X series key quality improved, especially in CT-X9000IN? As i often see people mention that the key's build quality on Casio is not a good as the ones on Yamaha.
even i wanted to know about it sir. especially the casio ctx9000in vs yamaha psr I500
You truly get the job done
Hi, could you please tell me which keyboard should I buy Is the Casiotone cts200c2 or the Yamaha PSR E263 better? I understand that touch sensitivity is very important, which of them has a better sensitivity? Or a better keyboard but one that is close to its prices?
Would you recommend a casitone cts-200 or alexis harmony mk II?
Would you recommend the e373 over the e363? They are the exact same price for me, but I think the e 373 looks a bit better. What is your opinion?

The more I watch your videos the more I begin to understand about keyboards. However, I'm confused which keyboard to consider when all I want to do is to learn how to play. I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles. Which keyboard would you recommend for a mature adult that wants to learn to play popular songs. Thanks for your input.

Hello jeremy, How to reset the psr e463 the who’ll setting as new please, thank you
And my dreams are crushed for wanting to learn piano :)
Oof
But are they crushed as hard has that like button?
I always see the Yamaha PSR-E363 is it the best keyboard for a starter or a beginner like me who doesn't know anything about instruments? I've played basic some basic ukulele but for a long time I'm interested in playing a keyboard piano

i dont care about voices and tones can you reccomed simple keyboards?
I’m also looking for a simple keyboard, have you found one you like.
Hi,Thanks for best giving knowledge.
Thank you for your valuable feedback buddy. Duly noted. 👍
i gotta add that i literally didn't even notice the transition until i saw this comment lol and i don't have a problem with it
Thanks for content!
Thanks buddy.
Is there an opp to compare a np12 vs casio cst1

Another very helpful video, thanks Jeremy. Do you think there is any wisdom in holding off buying anything for a while? Would you anticipate any big upgrades or new releases coming from Casio or Yamaha in the next 6 - 12 months? Thanks.
With the current situation, I don't foresee anything new. Even previously announced models are having supply chain issues.
@@JeremySee Thanks very much for the reply
