This was one of my favorite episodes. As flawed as Lucifer might be (in this show), he is the only reason these 4 women become friends. He has inadvertently given Chloe a life outside of work and Trixie, given Maze a new leash on life with the first friends she’s ever had outside of Lucifer, given professional Linda a new best friend and social life, plus helped Ella, who recently moved from Detroit to L.A., to fit in.
I think Chloe living at her Mom’s was a temporary arrangement while she was separated from Dan. Now that they’ve decided to divorce, she needs to make a new permanent home for her and Trixie and gain her independence away from Mom’s help.
Amenadiel’s ego will not allow him to confide in Lucifer or his Mum about his loss of power. He tried to solve his problems on his own but when Mum started giving him affection and acceptance, he gave up trying to please his father. Although him drinking at Lux is definitely letting his depression peek through.
This season is long so it might take a while for you to see where it’s headed 😉 I’d like to answer more specifically but I don’t want to spoil a thing. I love this season.

I love Linda so much, by the end of the series she could write the best self help books.
She wants her own place because when her mom was visiting, she wanted to take Trixi to an audition without telling Chloe and when Chloe was arguing with her about that, her mom held it over her head, that she was living rent free in her place... (look up S01E10 - you had a pretty shocked expression at that part) So Chloe probably doesn't want to be in this situation where her mom has something she can use to try to control her with and worse, interfere in Trixis upbringing without Chloes knowledge and without properly considering the negative impact on Trixie.
Maze is right. That bar brawl was the sweetest thing.
The last episode that her mother was in is the reason that Chloe can't keep staying at her mom's. As soon as there was even the hint of friction between them, Chloe's mom held it over her head that she was letting Chloe live in her house. And that was before the blow up at dinner with Lucifer.
Chloe revealed why she is moving at the crime scene in the woods. Something to the effect of "I'm a big girl now and need to be on my own". Regards Lucifer and a phone - this was circa 2015, and most people only had flip phones. So a smart phone with apps was indeed a new toy. Don't worry the Goddess' story arc will evolve. Maze and Chloe sharing an apartment, many new potential story elements there and Maze and Trixie interacting too... Oh and in addition to your beverage of choice you might want to have some tissues handy for some things to come. The show writing is funny, often hilarious and also gets deep and very heavy at times too. The "I did not see that coming" aspect continues.
Though, Luci didn't use to have a phone. As he says in season 1 when chloe drives off without him he yells "I don't even have a phone". So new toy, smart or otherwise. :D
Oh man . . . how many times did we say, "I did not see that coming"? Not only do seasons end with a cliffhanger, but EPISODES. Strap yourself in . . .
@@mr.midgardville Ok, I recall that. So maybe yes, he didn't have one back in mid season 1. Still back in 2015 smart phones were not that common, so either explanation works in my view.
Charlotte is still a named partner in her law firm. So even if she doesnt go to work, she'll still have income ... It'll be less than before - the firm is definitely taking a hit with a named partner sidelined.
I think the decision to move out was the result of Mom using Trixie for auditions...At least in her own place mom would have no unsupervised access to Trixie.
Why does Chloe have to move out of her mother's house? Because the idea of Maze living with Chloe is too fun. Lol
This is the episode where the series really kicks into high gear! From here on out through the end of the season is probably the longest stretch of top-quality episodes in the series! _So_ many of my favorite bits (starting with, yes, girl's night out) are found here! It's a wild ride, so hang on! (And maybe keep some tissues nearby, because this show's best moments aren't all happy fun times--remember Father Frank?)
Remember he explicitly didn't have a phone in episode 5 of season 1. And at least once Maze took a message for him on the Lux phone.
I love Linda in this episode. Multiple burns, being bitchy, all so funny.
I think she wanted to move out because she felt under her mother's thumb staying there moving into her own place allows her to set her own rules without being beholden to her mother who she can not stand.
This exactly! When Chloe chastised her mother for taking Trixie out of school and thrust her into a pageant without permission she said something along the lines of "this is my house! where you're living rent free", as if that gave her the right to just bulldoze Chloe.
Anna, do NOT assume. You know what happens when you do that. Like you said, you are only 4 episodes into the season. And you have 1 more episode before the SPECIFIED S2E6 reveal. WOO-HOO!!! Nicely done. LOL

I don’t think it was having a phone, rather the ability to use one for distracting apps that Lucifer had never noticed before.
Yeah, he upgraded from regular phone to smart phone. (I'm old enough to remember when the only game you were likely to find on your phone was Snake. And let's not get into the nightmare that was trying to enter text with a numeric keypad!) ☺

his personal scotch in his apartment is worlds most exclusive, he keeps stock with all his wealth in the building. He has a mcallen that is worth $40,000 per dram (1 fingers worth).
he is irrefutably wealthy he has estimated lost trinkets from history worth millions he got from various people throughout history (like a horse carving he got from napoleon himself), and lot of it because he makes deals (so he make a deal for someone and walk out of the showroom floor with a brand new rolls royce for nothing). Him pouring mase a glass of scotch is worth a car. he literally drinks about million dollars worth of scotch a day, because he cannot get drunk he just likes the taste.

There is no guarantee that the body you are seeing is the body causing the smell. There could be other bodies around.
So you should always check.
I had the reverse. Saw a dog that was out and the house smelled of decay. The dog was starving and in a coma but alive. (toilet water kept the baby alive) The elderly owner had died over a week before and was causing the smell.
Realistically, Chloe can't stay at her mom's house because it's all the way up in Vancouver. 😂

I never noticed when i was younger that tv shows have more than one writer. I thought that all the writers got together and hashed out ideas and then wrote the show in a combined effort. I guess i just didn't care enough to put any thought into it. So, while binge watching a show i would notice a character say something that is like a catch phrase sort of. We all have a friend (or ourselves) who say things the same way all the time. Then i would see a different character say the same thing and the other never say it again. Again, didn't out thought into it at the time. Just thought that was a quirky thing to say and then i hear someone else say it. This particular thing i heard was used by the same writer. My point to all this rambling is that you mentioned that Chloe wasn't acting like her normal self. I would suggest a different writer had a "vision" of what they wanted.

I liked the episode...the case was fine but as always , the cast & characters make the show.
Boys night is also an under appreciated part of this episode even though it’s not as prominent as the girls one...Amenadiel makes those scenes so funny( I will never not crack up at the dance he does after he calls over Lucifer).

Yeah. Dan says he has to go on a stake out and Chloe gets mad, but she has never once said "I cant go on a stake out". That has always bothered me. Her work is important, Dan's work is bad. Because as long as she is in her mom's house, her mom has a certain amount of control.
Yeah, but I think they backed off on using the work thing as a conflict point by this episode. At least not where someone makes it an issue anymore.

This is a stock episode that to be honest I've only seen in comic book media. The first time I saw it was in batman the animated series and was basically what sparked the harley Quinn/poison ivy ship. It was also a cross over with bat girl and super girl stopping them from committing crime

Fortunately they keep showing up in the algorithm feed, so I’ve noticed you’re still plugging away at Lucifer so I’ve been tapping on your channel frequently to keep an eye out for more.
I've had the same problem for a while now. I don't get the notifications that there's a new video up. I can't figure out what's wrong, so I just check Anna every time I log in. The rest of my subscribed channels work fine . . .
@@rowenatulley852 UA-cam has an algorithm that can be really fucky. If it feels like you wont be interested in something or a channel isnt suitable for the algorithm's current purposes, it wont feed that content to people. its really dumb and goes against what obvious interests there is sometimes but its just how it is

I feel like Chloe checked her for a pulse since if they have cats, they probably would have started eating her if she'd been there for too long. But yeah, if the body smells that bad, there's not much hope.
