4:36 .. BRAVO. Most Christines plead when they sing "Angel of Music" but it's almost like Harriet uses her voice as a weapon. So much anger and emotion. This is my favorite final lair because the acting is absolutely perfect.
Definately one of the most heartbreaking final lairs ever *-* I really cried when I saw this... The way the Phantom is acting is just beautiful I love it!!
It obviously depends on the actor. However, in general the London production seems to give their actors a little more freedom in certain places: - When Christine is shielding Raoul, London Phantoms will often grab her and hurl her around. Bway doesn't. - Immediately after, London Phantoms will sometimes try and attack Raoul, causing Christine to either shove herself between them or to stand down the Phantom. Bway Phantoms will move away, though their Christines will often try to grab them, only to be shook off. - With the line "I gave my mind blindly", London Christines tend to sing it more hopelessly, while Bway Christines sing it more angrily - One lyric change: in London Christine sings, "We had such hopes and now these hopes lie shattered!" while on Bway, they sing something like "We had such hopes and now these hopes lie murdered!"
+Iwant Candy Christine sings "I gave my mind blindly" a bit slower and more sad, not angry. She doesn't scream it at the Phantom. Also, what GP said about the Phantom hurling Christine away from Raoul. Small things like that which make the scene more emotional for Christine especially.
Glass Prism wow! That was so interesting to know!! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! btw I want to say that I'm in love with your tumblr site, especially your reviews and your favorites list! Your posts helped me learn so much about this show!! There are so many things I want to say but I'll try to keep it short and just say thank you again!!!!
This is probably one of my favorite final lairs. John Owen-Jones still has top spot, but this is also really fantastic, kind of perfect in its own way.
She promptly wades into the water to kiss the Phantom, though, and it doesn't seem too difficult for her to wade over and get to Raoul once he's freed. Anyway, it's the gesture and thought that matters - Christine fighting life and limb to save her boyfriend, and with a waterlogged dress, comes off much stronger and more emotionally invested in Raoul than a prettily crying Christine, standing uselessly on land.
True. I forgot that she eventually did. But then, also, unlike in this version, in the movie the phantom is holding the lasso. She only goes in the water when he moves away more.
I just checked, and he's actually still holding the lasso when she goes to him. He probably only drops it during or after the kiss. But again, it's more the gesture and thought that is important - Christine probably knows it's almost futile to save Raoul, and that she can't get the lasso off in both versions, but in the musical, she does everything she can to get it off Raoul anyway or block him from further attacks from the Phantom. (I've seen one Christine who even tries to support Raoul so he doesn't strangle as much.)
Ugh how I wish I could've seen Geronimo! If only they moved the British phantoms over to Broadway, or have them stay in their roles for longer than a year!
Superb acting! Very exciting and moving. I've NEVER seen a Phantom tear off his tie, tear his collar open and hurl the tie. LOVE unique moments like that! Keeps the show continually fresh. Do you have the whole show with this cast or at least most of the Phantom's scenes?
I have the entire video (which is mainly highlights centered around the Phantom, Christine, and Raoul), but I don't really want to post too much from it.
I hate the phantom's voice, but his acting is amazing! I love when he's recalling his childhood, it sounds like he's trying to push away the memory because it's too painful.
A lot of traders have it. You're not likely to find the whole thing uploaded on UA-cam or publicly gifted, but it's a fairly common video amongst musical traders.
I'm not very familiar with the trading industry haha but how might I get my hands on this performance? Are you saying I must trade a show in order to receive this one?
I love it when the actors are immersed in their part, you can tell that they are not on autopilot.

kind of like gina beck did in hers i mean i havent seen this one yet but i think gina's could be described the same way
I love how she screams "no" when blocking Raoul. I'm becoming more and more fond of her Christine every day
Funny. Its the opposite here.
I love the no too
Definately one of the most heartbreaking final lairs ever *-* I really cried when I saw this... The way the Phantom is acting is just beautiful I love it!!
I like the West End blocking of the Final Lair a lot more than the Broadway version. It's more intense and emotional.
Nelle Biremandie what's the difference between them?? I thought it was the same blocking!

Nelle Biremandie thank you for replying, I see what you mean now!
This is probably one of my favorite final lairs. John Owen-Jones still has top spot, but this is also really fantastic, kind of perfect in its own way.
I love how she's visibly fighting back to keep Raoul safe!
6:58 Erik’s NOO NOO was so damn painful. It was as if he was trying to tell her, “I won’t harm you precious Raoul. Because I love you!”
woah this is a phenomenal cast!
Whoa, this is killer!!! 😍 Reminds me of the intensity I saw in Gina Beck's final lair!

I really can't understand why in the movie Christine didn't try to help Raoul. She just stand there and stare. This is why I prefer this version.
My thinking is she knew the dress would be weighed down too much by the water. It wouldn't be practical

+Glass Prism What is the cast for the one where Christine tries to support him?
Ugh how I wish I could've seen Geronimo! If only they moved the British phantoms over to Broadway, or have them stay in their roles for longer than a year!
harriet's emotion makes me chills!!!!
Bravo! Now that was a good twist.
oh my god, im sobbing
Te amo Geronimo
WOW! What a performance!
What a protective Christine!
Anyone else notice while she sung tears of hate Geronimo looked at sheet music like I'm done with this situation.
even the phantom is crying at the end of this scene
No voy a llorar... No voy a llorar!
Superb acting! Very exciting and moving. I've NEVER seen a Phantom tear off his tie, tear his collar open and hurl the tie. LOVE unique moments like that! Keeps the show continually fresh. Do you have the whole show with this cast or at least most of the Phantom's scenes?
Omg the phantoms reaction to being touched kills me
Geronimo Rauch is fantastic. Perhaps the best ghost of all
this final lair was just brilliant
Whenever I see Harriet I think of Adam’s Mum in Beauty and the Beast
OMG! thank you for this - Harriet is a queen
I have the entire video (which is mainly highlights centered around the Phantom, Christine, and Raoul), but I don't really want to post too much from it.
oh, ok thanks for this then :) i love it, Harriet is my fave ever
i would sell my soul for Point of No Return. If you could even send it to me privately or link me somewhere privately. Please I'm desperate!
9:40 is me when I think of Erik's whole situation
I hate the phantom's voice, but his acting is amazing! I love when he's recalling his childhood, it sounds like he's trying to push away the memory because it's too painful.
Where is the full video of this show? I have been searching forever.
Yes, though many traders are willing to gift things to newbies and non-traders.
I want to see it on Broadway but I love the blocking
I was there.....
The most crucial part of the final lair, and you cut it off at the end.....really?? Don't you reckon it would be better the other way round?
It's where the video ended. Blame the person who filmed it, not me. And I mention this in the description anyway.
I love this Christine although the Phantom overacts a little
