I can't believe Bob flew home from Japan just to make this video for us, only to fly right back. Talk about dedication.
Kekw!!!@ WTG BOB!!! 😅😅
I find dedication to be a vital part of the content creator arsenal. If I know a creator is dedicated, I know their content is getting their full attention. Thoughts?
For anyone thinking of making the switch from a TV to a gaming monitor, you do not need the latest and greatest version of the monitor. Just like TV hardware, gaming companies re-sell essentially the same monitor as the previous generation with one or two new features that you won't notice and rename it and jack up the price. I bought a two year old version of the 32" monitor Bob showed off in this video as an Amazon Warehouse open box purchase for $350 six months ago. The design and UI are exactly the same as what he showed off in this video. Don't waste money on getting the latest, when the stuff from a couple years ago is just as good, and will save you literally hundreds of dollars.
You the GOAT
"32 inches is still large..."
Oh, thank goodness
Bob took his whole house to Japan just to film this video. Now that's dedication!
Turn on GSYNC in Nvidia Control Panel so it applies to everything. Don't enable VSYNC at all in any game because it adds more latency. Great video, thanks!
Also make sure you put it for windowed and full screen, not just full screen. There's a little checkbox underneath where you enable it.
Enable vsync in control panel though, just off in games
I bought my PS5 and LG C1 at the same time. Ultra-high framerates aren't really much of a thing (probably only had one game that would run at 120), but the increased resolution and VRR are very nice!
That's what I'm using currently it's great. Once I get a better PC I can run games in 4k at a higher frame rate
I bought a ps5. Series X and 2 LG CX and never looked back.
@@freiteezAre you rich?
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e Most people aren't rich, they just have credit cards and manage their payments while using no interest promotions.
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e no. I saved up so I could play next gen consoles on a tv that was compatible with them.
Limiting the frame rate on overkill PCs keeps the frime timing stable and temps normal. No one said limit it to 120, 200 is fine if it maxes at 250.
if you monitor supports g-sync or free sync you dont need vsync on, it adds delay. you just need to make sure it is enabled on the nvidia control panel or the amd thing
Actually, the recommended setup for a g-sync monitor is to enable both g-sync and vsync, and limit your framerate to about 3-5 fps less than your monitors maximum refresh rate. This keeps the monitor "inside" the g-sync range.
@@vmoca having vsync on would make the high frame rates not tear but will increase input lag. capping the frame rate is a good idea to avoid stuttering
Love the vod's on all your channels. Tyvm for your time....hope your having fun in Japan!!
I was gonna hold off on buying a monitor/TV until I could afford one of these $800-$1k setups. But I really just wanted to move away from 1080p. So I found a 43" Samsung 4K HDR on sale at Target for $300 and I can't complain. Sure I wish I could up the framerate on my PS5 but my computer is so old I just don't see the point yet. Plus I'd rather use that extra money to travel.
I use an LG C1 48" for my consoles, work computer and PC. I really like it and couldn't go back to a regular monitor.
NGL, the way to get the most out of PS5 being "buy a new monitor" wasn't exactly the hot tip I was expecting.
I have literally been using the same tv for over 10 years but hey its good for me it has 1080p 60 fps with a decent refresh rate and it also has composite!
Skootish casually rubbing spaghetti on his armpits wasnt something I expected to see in this video 😂
Skoot rubbing the spegett at 5:57 lol
Hey Bob, recently I have purchased a game for the switch called layers of fear and in the very begging there's a recommendation to play with separate joycons instead of the grip or pro controller so I wondered if there are games that have a better experience with this controls than the other options? I've been looking across the internet about this but I'd like you to cover this topic in one of your videos maybe? due to your on the point objective perspective of course
Huge fan btw
Great videos, as always! Love the Ferrari comparison 🤩
Loved the behind the scenes of the podcast studio!
It's not only for competative games. The big 38'' monitor would also be great with a true gaming PC using FreeSync/Gsync and ultra settings incl. ray tracing etc. with a more immersive type of game like Cyberpunk 2077. (Because VRR will mitigate framedrops)
Coming over to game, thanks for the invite Bob!
Fun fact, the racing mode is the most coloraccurate mode on most asus monitors
I use a 42" Lg C2 for my PC/PS5/Xbox Series X, and I love it, it looks amazing.
Me too, its awesome. Pretty big for a desk setup but its looks great even up close.
I wonder hwo the monintor competes with the GIGABYTE M27Q PRO? I recently got it thanks to Bob, and I'm curious which one is better for my lifestyle. I use the monitor for work and play, connect it to my ProArt Laptop on USB-C, and connect my switch to it to play Splatoon.
Is this better than the LG OLED 42in? You can get it around the price right now
7:21 this killed me💀
I mean with most games coming out seeming to be capped at 60fps anyway id say only vrr makes sense.
Then again depending what you play yeah, high refresh is good
My Ben-Q has the I/O ports tucked away in a spot so stupidly hard to access. I must stretch, and warm up before I attempt the acrobatics necessary to plug or unplug.
I love my 32inch goes well with my 17inch laptop. It does 165hz only
There’s a way to show on UA-cam. You put them side by side and then drag a document up and down on half one screen and half another. There’s a short I saw recently.
Also bob put it in rest mode it’s quicker to download.
For the Console gamers out there. The ps5 VRR only works on hdmi 2.1 Tvs/monitors, Xbox Locks HDR behind 4k displays regardless of hdmi specs. Ask me how I know. I play on my sony m3 1080p monitor playstation works great. plugged in my series x works great except no hdr. Always read and the fine print and google everything.
NAILING those insane monitor names
I have a 1440p 144hz display and a 120hz oled with gsync. It's OK. I can't really tell the difference unless I turn on the little framerate counter.
I simply cannot see the difference between 60 frames per second and whatever number of frames above that, unless I play in slow motion.
I am always just going to plug my PC into a TV personally
Great Stuff, as always!
Yes. My invisible PS5 is serving me well
Hi, not sure if it was mentioned but what is the name of the white docking station for the ports?
I’d like to know this too
I still have a 720p TV I bought in 2008 when I was like 19 that I use for gaming.
I don’t play mine as I’m an off tv play person. I’ll be actually playing it in November when the Portal comes out
Ive got a ps5, but a low end tv, i cannot wait for the day that i can get fancy as tv, hopefully i can somehow get one before spider-man 2 releases
How does Microsoft PowerPoint look on it?
I mean yeah you'll be missing some features but can't you still get the same experience on a 120hz tv too?
yea but not all TVs support VRR
Where my Wulff Den podcast at?
Im getting a ps5 for xmas, and just realised my 165hz monitor doesnt have hdmi 2.1 🥺
IMO 32" is the new 24" in monitors, I have two 32"s in landscape/portrait and I wanna just get one 48" 4k.
I never use any monitors for playing console games, only 4k 75inch tv
In about a month I'll be getting a PS5. Will rewatch then.
putting your camera there... what about the wobble?
Sadly that big boy is an extra $500 US here in the UK.
Gaming bob is back!
I’m a tv couch bro for life so I got a tv that can do 120 but anything that will get people in high framrate life is cool
I love my dell 32' 1440p hdr 165hz monitor. My ps5 looks amazing on it.
I am 4 minutes in an he has mentioned PS5 1 time at the beginning? Is this a monitor video or a PS5 video?
I don't really understand who would buy either of those monitors while using a ps5 or xbox series x
if gsync is on, you don't need vsync enabled
Wait where did the black ps5 come from?!?
I love the content here but laughed a bit when he talked about running at 144Hz while showing gameplay footage at locked 60FPS. 4:31
But but... I like to drive my Ferrari to the store and back once/month /s 😂
I’m hardstuck at a 60hz monitor until 144hz with VRR at HDMI 2.1 starts getting cheaper
uploading from japan like a boss
What about a samsung curved monitor
A friend of mine is using a 55 inch 1080p LCD and sitting 15 feet away. He wonders why he only gets 4 kills in shipment 24/7 in MW2.
I say get an LG G3 77 inch. Anything bigger and you don't get the brighter MLA panel.
I don't own a PS5, but if the next Nintendo system has 4k then I'm going to need to get a 4k monitor with a better refresh rate like thiz
Get the BIG ONE!
my dog hates my 120htz monitor, for some reason or another they are always barking at shit on the screen, its strange ive never had a dog pay attention to whats on a screen like that
Tv's are so good these days that i dont even game on monitors anynore. I play my pc, series ,x, and ps5 on a 55" LG C1 oled.
after you said the prices of those monitor... yeah im sticking with my sucky 60fps OLED TV instead.
Got a whole cheap 1440p 120hz monitor and keyboard/mouse set up for my Series X last year and is been great. Really changes the way you play games.
Won’t make you good tho :/
I may be a bit of an odd one but I actually notice the difference between 30 to 60FPS more than I notice the difference between 60 to 120FPS. 😅😅
Why are these the greatest videos??
I love my monitors I found for free on the side of the road
these displays will be great.... on sale.
I was running an LG 32" 1440p 144hz monitor, but I gave it to my wife and upgraded to a dell 34" 21x9 ultrawide 144hz 3440×1440 monitor. I cant go back to 60 hz.
1:24 - u think 32 is big? lol i use a 55 inch
Yes the most out of my 4090/series x/ps5 thx to lg g3 better then monitors in my opinion if you ever played in native 4k with 120fps ultra on an oled with 1500nits HDR10 you will know
DON'T DO VSYNC IN GAME FOR COMPETITIVE FPS
49" 32:9 is where its at for me. lol
Don't know why I'm watching this, i mostly play retro games on real hardware. 60 frames is still incredible to me lol
I wish I could afford something like that lol
buying more tech is not my idea of getting more out of what I have
Has anybody here had a weird glitch with their PS5 where it doesn’t fully connect to the PSN servers?? It’s been plaguing my PS5 for a month now 😔 My buddy in TX (I’m in upstate NY) has Spectrum for internet as do I, and he’s having the exact same bug. I’ve tried everything I could possibly think of or find online- tried changing the NAT type, making the IP address static, etc. My buddy’s theory is it could be related to the hardware Spectrum provides or somehow related to their network?? And also, no my account or PS5 is not banned on Sony’s end or anything like that lol. I bought the PS5 HD Camera last month hoping to stream Mortal Kombat 1 and I can’t broadcast at all. Ugh! 🤦🏻♂😥
Spectrum is a little infamous for throttling streaming, have ya tried setting a vpn up via your router?
🔥 Fire up the aLgOriThM 🔥
No, no I am not, Bob!
The 38” is $1000.
Enabling 120hz mode on PS5 and Series X allows games to achieve frame rates UP TO 120fps... if the game itself is optimized to run at such frame rates, but that is misleading because it doesn't just suddenly make every game run at 120fps. VRR is more important than 120hz mode tbh because of that fact.
Look, I get that these are insanely high value products, but even the smaller monitor costs as much as a PS5 AND a Series X together in my country. I simply can’t justify spending that much for a higher framerate, I simply don’t find that tag realistic at all.
Meanwhile im over here with my ps4 pro 😅
Don't use "spoiled" in regards to expecting high frame rates in games.
It should be the damn standard these days to at very least throw in performance mode OPTIONS on console games even if it makes the fidelity look like mashed potatoes. Considering some of use pay a significant amount of money for these consoles and especially for displays capable of showing more frames we should be allowed to CHOOSE!
Hey Bob, did you get a haircut? Its looking very nice and healthy.
These monitors are insanely expensive. For that price, you can get a 43 inch OLED TV (some come with 120hz), and in my opinion that's a significantly better choice for a PS5 or XSX, and you get a friggin OLED screen out of it, which I don't think I need to explain why that's amazing.
No hate, but i did expect this video to be more about optimizing PS5 settings for your display, especially with the upcoming release of Spiderman 2.
These monitors are expensive because they are mainly aimed at PC gaming, which is just more expensive in general at the high end. PCs offer better graphics and higher framerates, so they can actually use the 4k 160 hz and look good up close. (Consoles don't hit 160 fps and don't do true 4k in quality mode most of the time - it's mostly upscaled. That doesn't look super great up close). For a console, I would, therefore, also opt for the OLED TV.
@@Nucleosynthese I'm fully aware these monitors are for high end competitive PC gaming, but yeah, most people don't do that. So for the video to be about PS5 and showcasing these particular monitors... yeah it's just overkill, and that's all I was really trying to get across. Some constructive criticism, if you will.
@@ItsQshie Yeah I think I agree.. Unless you have a PC and a console and want to use the monitor for both or something. Modern TV's offer VRR and 120hz, I think that's fine for most games (even for most PC gaming, unless it's competative).
Playing PS5 on 24“ FullHD. It works.
I drive my Ferrari to Costco. What is wrong with that?
8:36 I like the hidden Uranian flag on the shelf 🇺🇦 👌
To my understanding , the PS5 isn’t worth the purchase unless you have a monitor or TV compatible with it. I bought a LG 120hz tv After my PS5.
I’m glad I did too because GOW Ragnarok used VRR to get up to 100 FPS
Yes! I was playing Jedi Survivor with VRR off just to turn on BFI, and the screen tearing was awful.
I'd still be fine with 30FPS… but it's hardly ever fucking stable and developers seemed to have completely forgotten about that important factor.
I thought this video was about the ps5 i dont know why 😅
moist wulffikal
I picked up an LG CX when I got my XSX and my PS5.
Did it cost an arm and a god damn leg? Yup.
Was it worth it? Yup.
Thank god for 12 months no interest lol
I paid 200 dollars on a 4k 40 inch tv
