I'm played this game for years but I'm feeling serious burn out. They just haven't given us any pauses or slow down time for years now, too many teams, too many peripheal toons. Its all feeling like a grind to nowhere
I was in his boat, and I had to just move on for my mental well being. The frustration, the repetitive nature of the game, the fomo, the pressure to build every team, buy every pass became to much. I loved the game. I had withdrawals from the game. I still watch content creators for the game, but msf made a choice and I made mine in response. I feel valleys anxiety for the game and I'm sad they chose the pay to play route. It was a msf call, and I think they are losing a lot of players who spent the 80$ a month over a cash grab.
This is the first time that I haven't purchased any of the passes. I refuse to. This is my way of making a stand.

I've bought every battle pass for the last 6 months but since the Shuri announcement I've decided to go fully f2p and if I can't keep up in the next couple of months I'm going to have to cut my losses after investing so much into the game.
I did the exact same thing. At this point, buying a pass feels like a scam.
Sunk cost fallacy makes it really hard to quit the game, so all that us so-called "light spenders" (which is crazy when I think of how much $80/month adds up to and it's still considered "light spending") can really do is commit to not throwing any more money into the pit moving forward.
Ngl I bought their 5 stars… this game has given me so much motivation and to live and work and just do better in my life because it’s something I enjoy doing in my free time. Like genuinely enjoy, and I didn’t have much else when I started my trend of spending. Helped give me reason to increase my income, get raises at work, and just do better in life. I’m really on fence to stop spending, I don’t feel like I need the game anymore to motivate me, so at this point I just bought the offers knowing they would be the last ones that give me a huge benefit in game.
I would love to return a a commitment of spending, yet I want a larger player base more.
You can still play the game against, just won't be against the very top spenders/players....it's still msf

I can't even get Shuri and Hank, not to speak about Captain Brit that's hidden behind a pay wall.... I literally have 3 Shuri shards and 1 Hank shard, that's crazy never happened before in any event or new releases they made. I really feel like the money is going up to their head, and they think with their pockets, and it ruins the whole vibes and the game.
I came back about 9 months ago after a two year break, and when i came back it looked like things were changing for the better, it didnt feel like it would take me 10 years to get better teams, but then all of a sudden the OML and Capt. Britain events have me feeling like I shouldn't even bother with the game anymore. So many people cheesed the OML event and he is such a game changer even at 4 stars and it really broke the game, then Scopely broke the community with Capt. Britain.

Side note, what helps me to keep playing MSF is not taking the game seriously, stay casual, remember it is just a game, and dont cave to the fomo. Play for fun
That's where I'm at. I took 2 year break now I'm back. I'm a occasional light spender, but I'm so far from end game I'm just having fun with game collecting new characters. I'm sure it's very different for CC on here, I'm sorry we are losing so many but don't let it get you down Valley

It's hard to remain positive when you spend cores for an orb of a featured character and get no shards for it. I can usually afford cores for one or two orbs each character and average between 8-12 shards and that helps. The new Shuri has opened my eyes to a lot and I'm not sure how much longer I can last. The game already feels like a chore to keep up while staying free to play and whiffing completely on the only orbs I can get, feels terrible.
I refuse to buy any passes until they fix this AND give us a PC client (what finally broke me was how underwhelming the illuminati are) but Valley you are one of the main reasons why 2 years later i still play so keep your head up bro!
Even if Scopely apologizes walks some of their ways back, they will do the same thing again and again. Im done giving them excuses.
This is the most somber video I ever seen from this channel. ValleyFlyin was almost semi upbeat even when the game was bad.

Going to spend $0 until things change. Stuck around because of the introduction of Cosmic Crucible. Should bring a Sim mod for all the non game modes (blitz, raid, arena, etc). Focus on game modes like satellite and pocket dimensions that people get excited about.
Buying a character it’s like buying a new ps5!this is absolutely shocking Red flag game!
I have gotten no shards in those orbs. They are giving them out to attempt to pacify the community while STILL sticking to forcing you to buy those characters. The game has too many bad decisions that aren't being retired out already. It's a shame really.

I am now about to lose half the people I’ve been playing this game with because of scopelys greed. This feels really bad and not that I know my alliance members personally but we all do talk through chat and phone, this absolutely sucks. For most of my gameplay I had a pretty decent job that I was making big money and I was spending a lot on this game. I kind of know the number, but I don’t even want to say it, but it’s a large amount. anyways, after Covid and all that nonsense I lost my job and I don’t have that income, but I have been spending on all the strike passes and now I just don’t know what to do or think all I know is I played this game because I enjoyed it and now after receiving the middle finger from Scopley I don’t know what to do..

Agreed so many people have quick. Im even thinking about quitting myself. Im so tired of players being taken advantage of by so many gaming companies that only care about money. There's almost no passion in game development these days.

The joke in the table top world is how expensive Games Workshop products are. But I can buy the Skaventide box set with all the figures, terrain, maps, and books cheaper than I can buy the unlocks to get Captain Britain. If it is not a physical thing I can own the rest of my life I've got a limit on how much I'll spend.

I quitted the game some months ago because the negativity of a lot of streamers got into me.... I decided to come back, love it a lot, annd you are the only one I watch because you always try to stay positive. Thank you for that.
People shouldn’t give scopely second, third, fourth, etc chances. They have done this for years they try and get away with as much as they can. The players get angry it boils over and they try and appease us and promise to do better. They do for a bit but it just starts all over again.

I like to remain positive too and keep the stress in my life as low as possible. It's super healthy for the body and mind. This is also why I quit playing MSF maybe about 2 years ago now. I am not afraid to remove the stress from my life. It seems Scooply fails to learn from past lessons.
The game is almost $1,000 a year just for battle passes, that’s not including characters that are now $50/$100 now. That’s more than a wow sub.
Definetly the most perplexing moment in MSF in a long time with so many good things coming, apoc requirement changes, alliance recruitment and management changes, battle world in production and estimated to come sometime this year or early next year, much awaited arena changes
But as you said valley, it's being overshadowed by all the bad. I know I personally will probably still be playing the game because where I'm at right now, captain Britain won't affect me too much, I'll only be seeing him every once in awhile in crucible, and I don't have my cabal up anyway for this pocket dimension, but it's definently worrying for the future and we can only wait to see the next few weeks.
The worst thing they can do right now honestly is bringing back the OML event, which dorky said might be soon with how things are looking. I'm hoping it won't arrive until after Odin, but with no confirmed dates, we'll never know

It's simple. This is a character collecting game. If you cant unlock characters without doing the grind, and have to pay, then it's not fun simple. Their greed has destroyed the game.
Valley I have the same philosophy as you, also one of the reasons I really enjoy your videos. I'm also pretty upset with the changes and the deminson. I recently got broken up with my a girl I thought I was going to marry and had stress of finding where I would live. So I cut back on the spending as it was a reason I lost my relationship from the money and time spent on the game. Now I'm getting screwed over in the game for not spending what $300 for the illuminati. Really sucks to have given so much time and money and girlfriend to just get blocked from playing in new events. It's been an eye opening experience won't ever let it get in the way again.
Be positive in this, I've played now for around 5 months and playing hardcore. YOU have gave me so much good info to go off of. It is just a mobile game but it's really the only in it's class. I say stay out of the new purchases and look more into game exploitation where you can. You've given us good ways to do that.
Scopely is probably just going to absolutely ignore this issue, they might pretend to care, but this is still gonna fill up their wallet, which is their end goal.
Tbh this needs to be their end goal. Money is what keeps mobile games alive and I imagine with the new content being developed they have to see an increase in revenue to justify the time and expense

I to have stopped spending. I will not reward bad behavior. They will not pay attention to my voice, but they will pay attention to people not spending money.
Went f2p once the CB release method was announced. Keeping a careful eye on the pay gating of the game. If it gets worse, I’m out. The rollback of the pocket dimension requirements seems like a planned tactic to make them look good. But I may just be imagining that.

Yeah it definitely has been a rough couple of months. Hopefully Scopley would take some feedback and make some improvements with the player base feedback. It’s seems like recently they haven’t been open to that.

i create content for Transformers Earth Wars and were experiencing the exact same thing. content coming out last minute, full of bugs and the devs bringing out things the community doesnt want. seems like it may be a live ops problem across the board. appreciate your content bud as MSF is my secondary game i play when on cooldowns on TFEW. thanks and GL

The game, in the end, is just a game. HOWEVER, what Scopelnext doesn’t realize is many of us enjoy the game BECAUSE OF VALLEY, MOBILE, DORKY, ETC!!!!!! Losing Valley, and the other CCs is far more of a blow than any game change. Do better Scopely, you have to be a real piece of garbage to bring Valley down.

Damn. I'm not going to lie, you are my favorite MSF content creator. I always get excited when I watch your videos because you are usually very energetic and uplifting. This video honestly had me bummed. I could hear and see everything written on your face and voice. Hopefully, they can come to some common ground with these new teams. I usually don't buy characters, and I grind daily, but they have gone a little above and beyond for these new teams. It's never fun to want to play a game, but you can even play unless you pay for something. Hope you stick around, man.

Hey Valley, I've watched your videos since I started playing in 2018. Took a break for awhile and came back. You are definitely the happiest, look on the bright side of things guys. I do think that's great. I do also like this video because it was very sincere and it's good to see this side as well. All of this is trial and error on Scopely's part. How far can they push players without pushing them over the edge. Once they push too far over the edge is when they will back peddle. On a brighter side, good luck with your match today and post a video of it if you can. It would be nice to watch win or lose.

Valley, I recently came back after a multi year absence. The raid schedules were just too much, I didn’t enjoy herding kittens so because of this my memories are maybe a little more focused and what things were. Now remember when red stars were implemented…..that was way worse than any of this. Remember what they did to us with Phoenix and Black bolt? That was way more gated than this is. A lot of people just need to touch grass. Don’t be a Negatron, there’s plenty of that out there, I’ve always appreciated your super hyped / positive approach. Look at the bigger picture. No the game isn’t “dying” old players leave and new players join. The “solution” is for people to drop the sense of entitlement and realize that every game exists to make money, can’t grow or add new content if they don’t. No matter what you do in life you get what you put in. You can’t expect rewards if you’re not investing.
ive been playing since day one and through out that time, ive only spent about $60 total in MSF. I learned my lesson when Avengers Alliance was still on FB, ive spent soooo much money on getting gold bundles until they canned that game and you can no longer play it. F2p is how i do it now.
To fix this I believe one of the new Iluminaties a comp/free and revamp the Pym and Capt Briton events. Plus never ever again make any character or event a paywall issue. Lastly scrap the Illuminati necessities for next Legendary

I don't like seeing you down. I've watched you for over five years, and I think many people focus too much on having everything right away as soon as it's released. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal. I remember not getting legendary toons on the first try and just preparing for the next round. I'm not sure when the community started demanding every character the day or week it's released. If you want to pay to get them, that's fine, but since we get characters so often, I always have something to build and enjoy. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one having fun with this game. I started after beta and have never put it down.

A couple of days ago nearly everyone on my team was talking about leaving the game. It is in a bad spot right now. Currently I am not going to spend any money on the game, that is a reward for the game being good. I'll stick around for now, but my interest is very low.
You are one of my favorite MSF UA-camrs, this game has saved my life, my wife has advanced MS, so I am sitting playing this game all day everyday,I watch every one of your videos on UA-cam and am among the first to watch and like every video, I am free to Play and recently buy the strike pass and battle pass, I am recently Level 100. 👍. Recently the videos have taken a more ominous turn. I am not happy that people are quitting. People it is a game, what ever happens you are supposed to try harder not quit. This game has not been easy, I have played over 750 days, it gives you a goal to achieve. I am not happy that the people on your tube are quitting, people that I have watched in the past. That is not what I expected or respect. Please speak among yourselves and handle it differently bc I am not happy, and do not expect me to watch your channel if You come back after quitting.
What a weird comment. After playing 5+ years, I quit 2 weeks ago and got my life back. The game trajectory is clear - there is no true F2P path anymore. I don't regret my decision at all.

I never knew such a community existed! I like the game but never got that into it just because of priorities but much respect
IMO Scopely has someone whose job is to find game modes that the community like and then ruin it. First was campaign release toons, then the trails, then cc then now pocket dimension. They first ruin the game modes, then "fixed" it so the community feels better and get distracted from some issue like the CB epic unlock. This has always been happening them creating a problem then giving us a solution.

When the ordinal Marvel Avengers Alliance, the game that predeceased this one no Facebook. The game they mainly based on went away it was due to making Strike Force. Alot of people were upset. When this came replaced it everyone was a bit sceptic. It flew, for a good while it flew strong. Now i think it got worse ever since they gained new management its all about the money.
My experience as a spender: Back in the fall, when they made the passes a really good value, I started spending $100 CAD for four of them each month. Then in February, when I got a really big tax refund, I started buying one big character offer for each new character, $130 CAD each, for a total with passes of about $490/month. With these latest Shuri & Hank offers, they gave us 20% more shards, but failed to point out that with a five star unlock required that out the price at $180 CAD per character. That brings the monthly total with passes up to $640 for three characters. $7,680 per year for a mobile game? Sorry, that is obscene, can't do it.
Scopely wanted to gamble they could get more money out of us, and they lost. My spending is going to become one small offer per character, for a monthly total of just $310 per month, and if they can't provide a fully functional game for that much, then they are choosing to price me out of the game and my spending will become zero dollars per month regardless of what that may lock me out of.
Your move Scopely, accept that you gambled and lost, or drive the ship full steam ahead into an iceberg.
Ive only spent 30-35 dollars on this game as a lvl 46 player and even i decided i would only get Shuri, the whole illuminati team just wasnt worth it. I wont have to buy much from here on in except energy or gold since i can get black knight from a milestone currently and once i get to level 65 it'll take some time but i can get all those high level squads free to play.

This has been a brutal series of weeks, and these videos from the envoys paint a grim picture.
They are being so stingy with iron patriot. By the time I unlock a full team they're worthless

I was a player from launch and stopped playing in 22. I came back this year for the anniversary that was cool. It seems that Scopely has to answer to its investors not us players. FTP players got screwed even my buying both battle pass even had to stop. They can fix this
from what i saw, VallyFlyin is the most polite, calm, and positive content creator for MSF, look, he even called this video a rant, which nothing compare to others content creator ranting, so when even he starting to feel the negative, something is really wrong, the devs is going too far.

Not only did I catch up from my 2 year break faster, I find your content really inspiring and uplifting (this video notwithstanding). Your upbeat positivity and your optimism are really contagious and inspire me every day.

The damage has already been done. Times are tough financially, so average people are choosing between paying groceries for $100 or paying a game $100 to get NOTHING
This game for me is a way to relax and enjoy the Marvel characters and its animations. But the pressure and stress to pay to play should NEVER be there. This game is now a trap. I feel for those who have been playing for years and spent so much money, and for some their savings
They will really need to recover from this, because this game is walking on VERY thin ice. When human beings are put in positions of power like Scopely, they don't care as long as our money is coming in for them and they are getting paid. This world is a cruel place, people will sell souls to get what they want

The player experience is not their concern. Unless it's the player's experience of spending a lot of money. Introducing character after character: Ares, Captain Britain, Hany Pym, Black Panther (Shuri), Sasquatch, Guardian, Northstar, Old Man Logan, Black Knight, Starbrand, Forge, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, Spider-man (Pavitr), Kraven The Hunter, Spider-Slayer, Lizard, Green Goblin (Classic) and on and on, without enhancing the player experience for every player is just a cash grab.
