They are from El Cerrito a actually. My dad is Tom Fogerty and John is my uncle. After the 2nd album Bayou Country we got $$ and everyone moved to Berkeley
CCR are like the Beatles: Throw a dart at a list of every song they did, 90% of the time you'll hit a hit single. So I'll only make one recommendation for now: Proud Mary (yes, the Tina Turner song. They wrote it)
pc Without John Fogarty creedence would have had zero success. They didn’t like him telling them how they should play. That’s what broke up the band. They couldn’t except his instructions. But all the hits were written and arranged from the mind of one man in that band John Fogarty. And that’s a fact. Actually who’ll stop the rain John said he wrote that song about how the other band members were making him feel. When he was just trying to do his best to get the songs that he had written to sound like he wanted them to. But they couldn’t appreciate his talent and decided to treat him like he was an overlord
@@Pugiron No they where really friends in the beginning for 10 years. Than they signed this shit record deal with Fantasy Records. And by the way it was Tom Fogerty that kept the band together. All though John fogerty took controle in the end off 1967 until 1971 and was the keypoint in the band. The sound off CCR was Doug, Stu, Tom & John. John's solo carrere is nothing compared with the time he played with his friends in Creedence.
I have always seen CCR as a sound of a generation. Fogerty's iconic voice shone through all other voices to me. So many hits in their career. Very, very few misses. If any.
It does my heart good to hear people (especially young people) discover and love CCR. They are easily one of my favorite bands of all time. Keep listening to CCR! You'll love them all, I'm sure. Great video!

You can't go wrong with C.C.R. and they'll always dominate my playlist, but after playing in a "request-driven" wedding band for a good part of the '70s I'd rather shove a red-hot piece of barbed wire up my d**k than have to listen to "Proud Mary" one more time. Aughhh! :-)
Your reactions are always great to watch, you should react to another one of there great songs- “Lodi”, “Have you have ever seen the rain” and “Bad Moon Rising”
I love how you down play how beautiful you are! Your so casual, just taking us along for the ride.. Credence was a awesome one of a kind band fan forever
John Fogarty's playing is amazing, but his voice! I have always had such a visceral reaction hearing him sing. Try Old Man Down The Road. It was put out after CCR broke up, but geez louise, it's great.
YES ! Another Great American Rock band ! CCR Love his voice belting it out at 4:15 Wish I was back on the Bayou Rollin' with some Cajun Queen Wishin' I were a packed freight train Oh, just a-chooglin' on down to New Orleans
It's sad that black folks were denied this music for so long, for whatever reason. I'm glad you appreciate it and I think this sort of thing brings people together!
Florida Chomps, I was a teenager when Creedence first emerged and was blown away by their "White Soul" sound. This song in particular. Such an incredible groove. But one of my black friends told me back in the day Creedence was the only white group the blacks would listen to. He said it was because of the solid (danceable) beat but I think it might have been partly John's voice too. Probably the closest thing to a black soul singer coming out of the white world.
So glad you got to hear them, Scribe. "Bayou's such a feel good, funky song, and takes it's sweet time gettin' through it too! "Proud Mary'" might be their biggest hit. Ike & Tina Turner sang it too.
Jammin right along with you girl. This is undoubtedly the #1 swamp rock tune ever. #2 on CCR's list has to be "Run through the jungle". If you like this song you will surely like the other. I remember this song came out when I was a teenager in Portage, IN. Mobile carnivals came through town here and there and CCR was a very popular band played at those carnivals. It was cool when on the rides they were blasting Born in the Bayou. Good times
Let's not sugar coat it. The reason CCR was blasting through the park was because the carnies were stoned 24/7. I wonder how many of them are alive today to talk about those days.
Huge library of CCR songs as well as John Fogerty solo music. Try "Lookin out my Back Door" and "Bad Moon Rising," if you decide to start exploring CCR.
Down on the corner, Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Susie Q, I Put A Spell On You, Up Around The Bend, there are tons. My favorites are "Midnight Special" and "Give Me Three Steps".
Love your reactions, this takes me back to my childhood in the 70s my mother she loved her some CCR music especially their album Cosmo's Factory which by coincidence was released in 70 my birth year god damn that makes that album and I 50 this year, however this song I believe was released in 69 ✌💕 from down under Australia
Sweet! I liked how you scrunched your face when the singing began. Another CCR song with a similar groove to this one is "Susie Q" from their first album. Their most famous songs are probably "Proud Mary" and "Fortunate Son," but they cut a lot of classic songs, including "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Lodi," and "Who'll Stop the Rain" among many others. PS. One great CCR song not to overlook is "Don't Look Now."
Enjoyed your reaction!! Can't go wrong with CCR...pick ANY song...ANY...it's ALL amazing!! GO OLE SOUTHERN BLUES ROCK-N-ROLL!!! YEAH!!! WE WANT SOME MORE...WE WANT SOME MORE!!!

I stood, Drill said it ain't mystery Brown, everybody know by that talk you from the bayou, and you joined so you could kill shit legal. I just sat back down.
CR was one of my early favorites and I was very fortunate to get to see them in Concert in Seattle during May 1969. I was only 11 & my 12 year old sister and I were allowed to go alone! What a show, they were at their peak. John Fogerty has one of the most unique voices in rock. Glad you enjoyed it!
At their peak Creedence was the biggest rock band in America, maybe even the world for a brief moment. It was all about The Beatles, The Stones and Hendrix until Creedence came around with totally new sound that felt like it had been around forever. They have close to a couple dozen great songs, many still played all the time on the radio and in movie soundtracks. Like most of the best American bands they didn’t last as long as they should have. Their leader John Fogerty had a falling out with the rest of the band.
CCR never had a #1 song, but they sold over 16 million albums. Their best was "Proud Mary" at #2. They had the Bayou sound down pat for a group from San Francisco. 👍👍
Great to free dance to. I can still remember dancing to this at summer camp. They had a juke box at the swimming pool concession stand. Ahh those summer days !
Proud Mary is CCR's song. Other people's versions e.g. Tina and Elvis mangle the song by tricking it up. They loose the calm and soothing feeling the listener gets from imagining they cross the river on Proud Mary and go to a better place. "But I never saw the good side of the city, 'til I hitched a ride on the river boat queen ... This is all created by the smooth slow tempo used by CCR but is wrecked by other people's versions when they 'jazz it up'.
One of their greatest was “fortunate son “. If you’re gonna listen to it check out the meaning of the song, it’s like it was written for your draft dodging buffoon of a President. One of the greatest bands of all time, their music will always be evergreen.👍🇦🇺

CCR was a great band with a huge library. It's definitely a rabbit hole you should explore.
Their "Greatest Hits" album sounds like all #1 songs.
@@rubbersole79 They put out a lot of good songs during their short time together.
I been a CCR fan since 1974 and still digging the songs hey now 😉
Ask your Vietnam era elders. They know CCR. You will not see a documentary or movie about the Vietnam War without CCR music in the background.
They do a killer version of "Heard it through the grapevine"
gkc1936 indeed!!!!
Yeah they do!!!
Suzie Q & I Put A Spell On You too.
You can literally pick any CCR SONG and cannot go wrong!, Very few bands you can say the same thing about.
To my adult kids...this was mom's hippie music..they rolled their eyes....glad you enjoyed it!
You should check out their version of I Put a Spell on You. Very powerful!
Yes, but I love the live version on the John Fogerty album " Premonition "
This is the best reaction to this song I have seen. Cheers
Shocked the hell out of me when I found out that John Fogerty and his band were from San Francisco, not New Orleans.
he must have visited there
Swamp Rock had a home in Northern California, CCR, The Doobie Brothers(early stuff, before they were the Michael McDonald Band)
Jim Parker Remmds me of the time I found out that Johnny Cash hadn’t been in Folsom Prison
They are from El Cerrito a actually. My dad is Tom Fogerty and John is my uncle. After the 2nd album Bayou Country we got $$ and everyone moved to Berkeley
I wish I was back on the Bayou rollin with some Cajun queen.
CCR are like the Beatles: Throw a dart at a list of every song they did, 90% of the time you'll hit a hit single. So I'll only make one recommendation for now: Proud Mary (yes, the Tina Turner song. They wrote it)
"They" is John Fogerty. The rest wrote their names on the checks they cashed.
