1st concert I ever saw back in 1971. They played 31 songs. Albert King and Muddy Waters warmed things up. 3 and a half hours non stop for $5.50. Oh yes, I'm 68 y/o and still listen too them.
Great reaction! What always amazed me, having grown up along the River, is how well they captured that delta vibe when they were from the San Francisco Bay area. Been listening to CCR since the ‘60s.
I was a Yankee hiking deep in the Bayous in La fishing when I first heard this song and been loving it ever since. I use to play softball for the Bayou Blasters anybody out there remember them. Lol.
@@jefgfogertyy2467 An honor to hear from you. I admired your dad and uncle so much. Their music helped me make it thru 2 tours in Vietnam, and they are both still much loved. My sympathies on the loss of your dad.
@@clintatk The closest that Fogerty got to the bayou was Fort Knox. We lived in Morgan City, Louisiana where my sister was born and CCR's music couldn't be more authentic Cajun than if he was born on the Atchafalaya...
@@rkernell I was born in St Charles Parrish. I'm partial to Zydeco and New Orleans jazz, but growing up I always liked the passion and wit in his songs. I mean, Myles Davis was from the Mid West, but as soon as he could he was off to New York City. 👍
OMG One of my absolute faves!!! - this was my soundtrack growing up - yeah I'm old....so glad you are discovering the music that inspired my generation! ♥
CCR was the greatest rock band of all time, and John Fogerty is the greatest song writer and front man. I saw him recently, and he's still rocking in his 70s!!!
CCR/Suzie Q and the 10 minute epic I Heard It Through The Grapevine. By the way, in 1970, CCR was the only recording act that outsold the Beatles. The prior six years were dominated by the Beatles and they outsold everybody else.
I had every LP they put out....and you're so correct...in 1970, when I was 13 years old...CCR was the King of the airways...and they were the king's of music! John Fogerty was not only a great singer and guitarist...he was also a great song writer. He was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in 1993....
Saw credence in Houston in the late 60s. Only concert I ever attended that the live performance was every bit as good as the studio version. Making sure my grandkids grow up knowing what music is supposed to sound like. Appreciate younger people discovering the music of my generation. Enjoy.
Just found you and subscribed. Over the moon with your reactions on CCR. I'm from UK and was introduced to these y my friend Dave. Over the years I know these are my favourite group. You should watch Run Through the Jungle matched with Vietnam footage. So pleased with your awesome reaction to them. They were special John Fogerty has lots on UA-cam everybody wants to join him on stage and play. Awesome.
CCR has a deep catalog of awesome tunes.. You have heard them even if you don't know it.. "Heard it through the grapevine', "Fortunate Son" and others have been in a lot of movies and such.
You can see it on your face the true enjoyment you have in discovering great music of a bygone era. Thank you sir for opening your mind and heart to these great artist.
it keep saying this is my favourite each time i hear their songs 🙈 ccr were at their high peak in my country throughout mid 70s, they were my last memories of cambodia where i left the country 40 odd years. your reactions said it all, thanks for this!
Ok, if you're digging CCR then you HAVE to listen to Waiting For The Bus/ Jesus Just Left Chicago from ZZ TOP. Funky blues Southern Rock. You will love it.
One of the best bands ever. I grew up on this music. This is what is call Southern Rock. Lrynyrd Skynyrd, etc. Newest member is Chris Stapleton. A mixture of country, rock and the blues.
John Fogerty, the lead singer, is still going strong. He has been doing videos from home with his (grown) children during this covid-19 BS. CCR classics, they are really good.
check out CCR’s “Graveyard Train” although it’s a cautionary tale of a Greyhound bus and Rosie the train, you might find the lyrics aprpos to our current situation. Also has more of CCR’s epic harmonica riffs. peace
You can literally throw a dart at a (at least) 3 disc greatest hits album of theirs and have your mind blown. I'd love to see MORE of CCR on your channel, but can you pretty please do Long As I Can See The Light????
This ain’t just southern music my man, my best memories of this song was with it blasting on a some home stereo equipment across a campus in Oregon, sitting on the lawn while we threw a joint to each other to avoid campus security looks....BTW have you ever heard of a song called “Ma” by Rare Earth?
I grew up listening to these guys and they are absolutely one of the best bands ever and John Fohgertys voice is off the chain ⛓️ People listen to Brother Nick here and tell him he sounds so much like John Fogherty that it would be hard to tell you from his voice if nobody saw who was singing. And Damn Straight I'd love to see Nick go to see John Fogherty and John bring him up on stage and do one of those songs there together ! You talk about bringing the frickin house down roof and all.
One of the most iconic voices in rock. Mr John Fogerty.
It's not just the voice, alone is legendary. It's the guitar. It's the composition. It's the grit and sweat!
Exactly
John Fogerty's vocals are so recognizable. No one else sounds like him. 🔥
Yep, no one on the planet!
1st concert I ever saw back in 1971. They played 31 songs. Albert King and Muddy Waters warmed things up. 3 and a half hours non stop for $5.50. Oh yes, I'm 68 y/o and still listen too them.
I grew up listening to CCR. Most under rated band ever.
Great reaction! What always amazed me, having grown up along the River, is how well they captured that delta vibe when they were from the San Francisco Bay area. Been listening to CCR since the ‘60s.
city boys hanker for country country boys hanker for country !
Jeffrey Jenkins I was floored the day I found out they were from Cali.
You make it sound like there is only one reiver and one delta. Hint thee are both out in the SF bay area.
Anybody tell this guy about the Allman Brothers? Dude, go react to Whipping Post and Soulshine right now!
They are from the SF Bay Delta, which very much like the south in miniature. From Richmond to Stockton and Sacramento.
I was a Yankee hiking deep in the Bayous in La fishing when I first heard this song and been loving it ever since. I use to play softball for the Bayou Blasters anybody out there remember them. Lol.
Watching you discover and react to CCR is making me so happy!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Why does it make us happy, but it does lol!
The conviction, the soul, the voice!
This song fills my prescription for "more cowbell"
John Fogerty listened to the old black blues singers and took those voices into rock and roll. He created an original sound that few can duplicate.
The band is so tight and John Forgerty's voice is so soulful, just a perfect combination. Love their music.
CCR's version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". An 11 minute great.
Creedence does the original Proud Mary
I have the original single. A side is proud Mary, B side is born on the bayou.
John Fogerty's vocal on "I Put a Spell On You" will peel the paint off your walls.
What surprises some people is to learn they're a band from the San Francisco Bay Area and not from the south.
My fav group of all time, hands down. Fogerty is a HUGE talent. Distinctive voice, great guitarist too. Amazing songwriter. He WAS CCR.
This is one of those legendary bands from the late 60s and 70s that was at Woodstock and John Fogerty is still singing to this day
You can literally see the mist rising, feel the humidity, and feel the breeze... YES!
Loved the reaction when Fogerty starts up "Oh when I was just a little boy..." -- I knew it was coming!
He's been doing music from home during these rough times including desk top concert with 3 of his 4 kids. At 72, he sounds pretty good.
As an avid CCR fan two words "GREEN RIVER" !!!!!! That is all....have a nice day.
DUDE, "LONG AS I CAN SEE THE LIGHT". BY CREDENCE. WILL BLOW YOUR EFFIN MIND
This right here. Yes. This song is utterly amazing.
No doubt their #1 swamp rock tune. #2 has to be "Run through the jungle" with some great harmonica too
Dude... I gotta pause. You put the biggest smile on my face enjoying CCR. Man.. 8-)
John fogerty is 71 and still sings like that.
Paul Ryan saw him last year at Jazz Fest in New Orleans and he sounded amazing!
John Fogerty is 75 years old !! And he is my Uncle and Tom Fogerty is my father.... JEFF FOGERTY

I think they went to El Cerrito High.

One of San Francisco Bay Area's favorite groups, CCR!
Ooh, Swamp Rock! No one else could do what CCR did, including inventing their own language, like ‘choogling’.
CCR was the greatest rock band of all time, and John Fogerty is the greatest song writer and front man. I saw him recently, and he's still rocking in his 70s!!!
Love watching your joy!
CCR makes my top 5 favorite bands! 👐
My Dad loved this group. He also liked. Suzy Q

Great reaction to an awesome band, they had their shit together, music wise
CCR/Suzie Q and the 10 minute epic I Heard It Through The Grapevine. By the way, in 1970, CCR was the only recording act that outsold the Beatles. The prior six years were dominated by the Beatles and they outsold everybody else.
John Andrews OMG yes, heard it through the grapevine! CCR does such a good job!

I’m new to the fam but must say I love your reactions!!! Get it!!! 🤪 I was raised listening to them. Awesome band!!! Very soulful...
Man love these boys! The American led zepplin!
CCR's music became known as Swamp Rock, mainly coz of John Fogerty's vocal stylings/influence & the Memphis blues inspiration!
One of the best rythym sections in music history!
Not bad from a band from the Bay area California. You gotta check out their version of Heard it through the grapevine
