- Seeing as my intro is of a DJI Inspire I saw it fit to make this compilation. Also I've been overloaded with reviews recently so this one is for you guys who enjoy my compilations, sit tight and buckle up this one's going to be one hell of a journey.
Feel kind of bad for that guy with the fly-away drone. It would really suck watching a $4000 drone doom itself to crash and not being able to save it.

how was that human error though ?? not really a fail, more of a fail on DJI's part. Looks like the SD card survived from the footage that was captured.
Yeah, given the footage he had from it, I would have been all over DJI's ass to warranty that one.
Powerpuffboys dont need that if it isnt pilot error, dji will replace it for free
Showing the aftermath of the crash would have made the video about 20% cooler.

When i was a kid i had a cheap drone called a promark vr. It lost all connection and flew away. My heart was crushed. I can only imagine what these people went through

The same happened to me, it didn't just flew away it ran away with full throttle.

I used to think like you, but now i'm a drone owner and think different.
Will straight to the trash either fall in water or on the ground anyways. Flying over water is even safer than over a city, as you cannot hurt people or damage properties. Furthermore, the chances to collide with any obstacles over water is generally lower...
Daniel Souza yes even the drone would have a chance of surviving just dry it put it in a bucket of rice for 5 days if it was over ground and fell it will get destroyed

@Jacob Seppa P4Pro have redundant IMUs and compasses so although not impossible it would be "extremely rare" for a sensor failure to cause a P4P to crash... They (all Phantoms) are also designed to fly without GPS (ATTI-mode) so if/when you loose GPS signal the Flight Mode at top of screen changes/shows ATTI (plus a warning window pops up telling you it's in ATTI Mode)...

For the vertical runaway Drone, it should either RTH or return to RC when connections are lost. One of it is set by default I believe. So what happened is way bigger than "lost connection". Looks like Total self destruction mode.
as a mavic 2 zoom owner.. that kind of fault scares me..

that inspire coming down fast gave me an anxiety attack dam!
1:56 my dji Tello did the exact same thing. Sadly the drone flew so high I lost sight of it and I never found it again. Dji sent me a replacement drone so that was kind of them
I feel bad for those guys like 12 of those drones = the price of my house.

I’m 18 and a while ago I purchased a Mavic Air. I did way too much research before I bought it and I fly with only the utmost care. Still haven’t crashed it or have come close. I make sure I follow all the warnings that appear and never attempt to push the drone to its limits. My dad nearly crashed his mavic pro because he kept ignoring the wind warnings, which resulted in it nearly hitting a tree.

Here's a great tip for anyone without experience who wants to buy DJI cameradrones: Just don't. At least have a few hours in a simulator first.

DJI still has some serious flaws regarding stuck control sticks that occur out of nowhere mid flight. They should have some kind of emergency flu to home option without the damn thing turning

If I had an inspire I would be too afraid to use it. Instead I have a Bebop 2
actually flying an Inspire 1 or a Phantom 4 is very reassuring,they are steady in the air and fight high wind maintaining position,they are super steady and they are now collision avoidance fully integrated...a collision with obstacles is absurd,how the hell don't you take a visual inspection of the flight scenario BEFORE actually flying the aircraft?it's mandatory,first for a safety requirement,you have to be safe,basic rules,but these birds are actually very easy to controll,way better than a 30 dollar toy drone.I have in my little fleet 2 CX20 Cheerson,one heavy modified ,one stock,a Phantom 3 SE,and an incredible perfect flight machine (for the bucks) the Xiomi MI Drone 4k...obviously the Xiomi and the Phantom are rock steady in the air,super easy to fly,but you never have to lose the line of sight,and you have to know where, in the scenario, the obstacles are...

My Inspire 2 crashed last year right after I had taken off without any inputs from my remote control. It went up to 1636 feet and then shut down the motors and came down 75 feet away from HP.
Fortunately the have State Farm insurance and they paid my claim in two days.

Here is the thing, people in these videos bought an Inspire 1, but what they should have bought was a Phantom 3 Standard (at the time) which is more suited for what they were wanting. Or even something cheaper, as the Inspire is a professional series, not REALLY designed to hobby around the local ball field. Don't get me wrong, when I first saw them, I thought they were amazingly cool with their "transformation", but I didn't buy one until I had adequate time with not only Phantoms 2 (and the updates) and several Phantom 3's, I owned Every model, Standard, Advanced, 4k, I also BUILT a lot of purpose driven Cinematography models to suit my needs. Once I decided to enter film, for various purposes, that's when I bought an Inspire 1. I won't use a DJI system now though, with all their GEO Fencing and requirements. There WERE some glory days before the GEO tech was introduced, but now I stick to all 100% custom builds!
I'll stick to my Mavic Air 2. Thing is a beast

Too many people get an Inspire and just fly it around like a $100 drone. Yeah, I've done it too, but it really wasn't designed to do that. This is a mobile camera device made for video production and it isn't meant to do stunts or crazy things. It's heavy and kinda awkward and like any drone, when things go bad, they go bad in a hurry due it's size. But, I tell you what, it's an impressive piece of machinery and people who have never seen one are always amazed.
The one thing stoping me from buying a $4000 drone..... The fact it may very will destroy itself for no reason followed by 6 months of following up warranty

Ha, take off and immediately fly away at top speed! What could possibly happen? When I crashed my Hubsan 502SS it lost connection at altitude, so I didn't see it come down. By the time I found it the ESC had overloaded and burned off one arm. I rebuilt it with a new body and two new ESC's and new props for less than $50. The original cost was only $150. Fly cheap until you've gotten most of the crashes out of your system! So far I'm still crashing, so no high dollar drones for me!
I always feel heart stoping when some eagle fly near to my mavic mini.
Some of the mistakes in this video with such and expensive drone is crazy.
Chances are the runaway Inspire could be saved in ATTI mode, it happened to me I switched it over and regained control.

That is why I have a standard P3. Losing one of these Inspires would drive me nuts. Though I have to admit that I would probably no do the same type of flying if I had one of these.. but still!! $4000 is a lot of money.....!!!

THe Inspire 1 is actually a professional aerial photography device,the first rule of a nice aerial shot is not rush,is planning the aerial path of aircraft to perform the best shot possible,planning means take in consideration obstacles ,the speed of the camera movement in relation to the lenght of the shot and a tons of other variables come into consideration for the best result,everything i've listed is the exact opposite of what these guys here are doing with an Inspire1...they don't need an Inspire if they want to do FPV sport flight,buy a 250 sport quad and gogles
What with people flying professional heavy duty drones like fpv drones??? Or generally very recklessly. This is what ruins the hobby for the good pilots

I would assume that fly away was due to not setting your home positions in your GPS coordinate probably went to find a previous home lol
I buy and restore destroyed inspires if anyone has a damaged one I’ll consider buying it. I have fixed 4 inspires including water damaged
