No its not black fishing because you are naturally dark. Black fishing is when a light/pale person uses makeup to make there skin much much darker To looks black or Latino.
Sophia honestly I think ppl are trying to find something to hate her for or a problem or sum cuz there’s nothing wrong she doin 🤷🏽♀️ ( except showing a little too much cleavage but that’s her choice and her body so we have no say but regardless it’s not appropriate.. 👀)
honestly, i don’t think she’s blackfishing at all. hear me out: in the videos you can clearly see that her body is still “white” and the fact that her foundation is literally just too yellow for her skintone does not mean that she’s trying to be black. also, i think that having braids is not stealing from another culture, it’s admiring it. obviously, the hairstyle looks fucking GREAT on women of colour, but also on some white women (that’s an opinion ofc) so why not wear in? i don’t see anything offensive, she does not hate on the black community. blackfishing and racism clearly exist and they are still a bigass problem, but she is not blackfishing. liking to get a tan is also not blackfishing, as long as you don’t imitate the CULTURE. having a skin tone that’s a little darker than your own makes you look less pale and people have been doing it for ages without ANY context to the black community whatsoever.
she... is... imitating the culture??? she’s literally imitating the stereotypical black woman with her foundation and braids and aave n stuff bc it’s a “trend” or whatever...

Shauna Raymond it can also come down to the fact that braids on different textured hair is actually damaging. A person of colors hair is often much thicker and stronger, built to stand the braid. Whereas those with straight hair, aren’t. It’s pretty, but there are things best admired from a distance. I wouldn’t want for anyone’s hair to fall out :(
she literally is purposely making herself look like a light skin black girl but okay if she did a tan but still looked white, that’d be different. but she’s purposely making herself look dark. 😐
Cardi can’t just admit she’s white passing. The girl ain’t black. How do you have a biracial and a white father then say your black. Sis your white passing. She isn’t Megan Markle, she’s biracial. Her on the other hand is white passing.
@@faiththolley4308 Cardi B is of a mixed nationality as her parents are from two different countries from the Caribbean. According to Cardi B's bio, Cardi B's mum is from Trinidad while her dad is Dominican.
Lemme remind y’all that blackfishing is when someone is pretending to be a person of colour to receive the social perks of the culture, community and media attention. (Being ambiguously ethnic is really trendy right now) We all know this girl is white lol And even though what she said about straight hair on black girls was hella ignorant to all the black girls throughout HISTORY, who couldn’t get a job because their hair was ‘to wild’... she still ain’t pretending to black She’s ignorant, but she ain’t worth anyone’s time y’all xx
Well yes. If there’s white privilege, there’s black. I’m black and I can get a whole scholarship just because I am black. Well I’m 5 yrs out of high school but there are scholarships only for black people. There’s an example. Another one is that i can shit down a business if I claim racism. Because I’m a black female. I can end someone’s whole career. This is a no tolerance time. And twitter would have my back anytime if i were to use my color and play victim. There’s something also called affirmative action. Which is so offensive to me. I’d rather use my talents and my skills to get in a place. Not my color
She's literally just having the same issue as James Charles with struggling to match her foundation? She's ORANGE,how TF is that black face?? Not to Mention she's literally always acted the way she acts,it isn't suddenly blackfishing because she got a tan. Call out her behavior and shitty makeup line instead of start rumors and cause stupid issues that don't exist. There plenty to call her out on and getting a tan isn't one of them. Not to mention she's right about the hair, braids and dreads have also been in white culture throughout history
I mean normally I don't agree with shit like this bus also like ur right, shes always been like this and it's not sudden, the hair could be a little controversial depending on what she says and if she claims to be black or a different ethnicity but it's not like shes claiming the hair 100% as white shes saying it's been in white culture in the past. and if a hairstyle is pretty why would people trash other ethnicities for wearing it as long as they didnt claim to create it?? like she said with people wearing straight hair or dyeing hair blonde ect.
Honorary Tuba bruh what that’s such an ignorant thing to say she talks in AAVE she wears darker foundation and say the n word and AFRICAN braids were not ment for her type of hair if you are not black you can’t not tell us how to feel
Guys she’s just trying to look like a typical “insta baddie”, it’s not that serious 🤦🏽♀️ she’s still young and wants to try things out. I think she definitely changed but there’s nothing wrong with it. If some of y’all had the money you would do the same. She’s not black fishing, she just looks like she got a spray tan, or maybe just spends more time outside sun bathing at her pool or whatever since she’s rich now. How could you be mad at someone for trying to look better? 😩
lool how is it not serious when she looks like a different race? being young does not excuse being this ignorant. Stop excusing her actions because you look ignorant too. if she just looked like she has a spay tan people wouldn't be attacking her. Theres loads of people with face tans on insta that arent getting slammed. Thats because (unlike her) they're not trying to blackfish.
Kinki Dot 😪 There are people dying rn and everyone keeps worrying about a young girl trying to flex on the gram. It’s not that important. People need to mind their own businesses and start focusing on themselves 😫 that’s what made her famous... unnecessary attention. She’s doing her own thing and y’all (including myself) can’t do nothing about it. Stop making yourself crazy and just ignore her. Oscar Mota I feel like she was trying to say how people with texture/curly hair straighten there hair with heat which damages it completely, or if they put on wigs incorrectly they can rip out their edges. Just like how people with straight hair wears box braid and it can mess up there hair. So for people hating on her saying it’s gonna mess up her hair they are kinda being hypocritical. Because most likely the only way you can’t messing up your hair most of the time is keeping it natural, and that goes for everyone
nctinthehouse it can cause ripping of the hair increase damage quicker and breakage. That’s why people with straight hair can’t wear it for as long than someone with texture/curly hair.
@@ForeveGlitterGamer that and normally white people have thinner hair which causes more tension to be put on it and the oils in our hair produce quickly and arent as beneficial to out hair when exposed in excess, where as black women's hair NEEDS oils and moisturizers, white women's hair gets greasy and overloaded far quicker

honestly lmao, alot of people are saying her spray tan is too dark, but its literally not, she still has white skin she doesnt look black at all because of her tan, and with her foundation honestly she could have had her untanned skin but used her tanned skin foundation shade which would make sense.
it's not tho. the MUA who did her makeup used a foundation from a company that's literally MADE for people of color. she's said the n-word on several occasions, worn box braids, & called black girls "bald-headed" bitches :/

Janaiya Cook I see your Point. But I’m not going to sit here and talk about the braids because I’m not a women of color and I have no say in this (Im Mexican and have never wear boxer braids). What I will say she’s not trying to change color it’s just the foundation .(my perspective ) and I get it she’s says the n word and she can’t and isn’t suppose too. I do give credit to a lot of you beautiful women of color but personally I don’t say the n word (I don’t even cuss lol) and I never have wear boxer braids( and not planning too btw i don’t like doing things to my hair I love it straight) .
I don't know if I could go to America tho. I grew up braiding my hair and no one had a problem with it. I'm not white but I'm light in complexion. I don't even know if I'll be a women of colour when I go there because I'm not black and black people keep calling me white because of how light I am. (I am coloured from South Africa by the way)
I'm from the Caribbean. This whole idea of cultural appropriation via how you style your hair is a joke to me. I'm not of African descent. My island is basically One third African, one third Indian, one third mixed with a minority European presence. When i was growing up my Afro friends parents would teach us how to braid our hair and do their hairstyles. It is still common. We live as one and have an appreciation and respect for each other's culture. They learn our ways of cooking and cultural dress. It's considered "unity" where I'm from. It does not underscore anyone else's culture but grows appreciation for it. I'm not a fan of this girl but I don't see the debate here with this situation or any similar "blackfishing" debate based on hairstyle. Just my 2 cents.
Driftin' Seahorse I’m from the Caribbean as well. We even have events at school celebrating every culture and it doesn’t even matter what ethnicity you are, anyone can part take. Cause like you said we’re "one" at the end of the day
Driftin' Seahorse yikes. You see the problem is that she’s appropriating a culture. And how is that okay? She is literally a white girl with box braids. There’s a lot of things wrong with that. Please do more research before just saying “it looks good sooo”.

I'm a black woman who doesnt find other women and other cultures wearing braids or other styles of my background personally offense. As long as your respectful and recognizing where this stems from. I know black women who wear weaves and lace fronts often and white/European women aren't pulling the "cultural appropriation" card. Just be respectful.
Tiff Nathan bc that isn’t considered cultural appropriation. weave is not the same thing as braids. there’s no cultural roots behind straight hair and weaves. While there are with box braids, etc. I also am black and don’t have a problem with other girl’s of different races wearing braids.
Straight hair or wigs don’t belong to a culture tho, black people can have straight hair too whereas braids do belong to black people’s culture that’s the big difference, though i don’t have a problem with non-blacks wearing braids and so as long as they respect it
I don’t understand why people mix up HAIR TEXTURE with CULTURE, like no! Culture definition 1. The customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group. 2.Culture is a word for the 'way of life' of groups of people, meaning the way they do things. ... Excellence of taste in the fine arts and humanities, also known as high culture. An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior. The outlook, attitudes, values, morals, goals, and customs shared by a society. No where does it say hair texture. Hair texture and colour stems from DNA not culture. Edit: I NEVER SAID I WAS AGAINST CULTURE SHARING AND IM NOT OFFENDED BY IT YES. I understand Vikings also wore braids
I understand your point of view based the change skin color not being cultural appropriation, but on the other hand the definition provided is somewhat false. As we all know (not trying to be a conspiracy theorist), that definition was most likely made by someone who was either un experienced or white( not being racist or biased). History shows that in many cultures that are racially black, their texture and color of hair was based on their hair, and it shaped who they are. What I mean is that if it is included in a culture, it is within teach of being damaged by cultural appropriation. No offense to what you said though, because I respect it, just wanted to bless you with more information love ❤.
Ice Scream so your saying she “sounds black” how does the way you talk elude to your race and now having plump lips means your trying to be black it’s lip fillers so what many people of many different races have plump lips

She isn’t wearing blackface or mocking black culture she’s literally just living her life and dressing and doing her makeup how she likes it. People are just looking into it to much and giving her more money and views. 🤷🏼♀️
I’m probably gonna get hated for this but I’m black (the girl in my profile picture isn’t me, I just find it aesthetically pleasing) and I don’t think she’s “blackfishing;” Y’all act like she’s pretending to be black. We’re all well-aware that this girl is white and hell she does look like a different person, but whoever matched her makeup didn’t do such a good job and she looks nowhere near black. Especially, the hair- she favors braids and wigs but I’m not mad at that. She knows where it originated from, and she respectfully wears it. I don’t see the problem.. ---UPDATE: She’s 17 and was on live half-naked, but her foundation looks way darker on live.

I don’t think she’s blackfishing she just doesn’t look like the same person
Yh
Well I mean she’s not going to stay looking like the same pale red head 13 year old girl forever 🤷🏻♀️
Sophia honestly I think ppl are trying to find something to hate her for or a problem or sum cuz there’s nothing wrong she doin 🤷🏽♀️ ( except showing a little too much cleavage but that’s her choice and her body so we have no say but regardless it’s not appropriate.. 👀)
Her new self looks like every IMVU character 😂😂😂
I FUCKING SCREAMED- 😂💀
Nah my imvu is as white as me
this sent me into ORBITTT LMAOOOO
U are so right omg😭😭😭😭😭
Oh god yess 😂😂
honestly, i don’t think she’s blackfishing at all. hear me out:
in the videos you can clearly see that her body is still “white” and the fact that her foundation is literally just too yellow for her skintone does not mean that she’s trying to be black. also, i think that having braids is not stealing from another culture, it’s admiring it. obviously, the hairstyle looks fucking GREAT on women of colour, but also on some white women (that’s an opinion ofc) so why not wear in? i don’t see anything offensive, she does not hate on the black community. blackfishing and racism clearly exist and they are still a bigass problem, but she is not blackfishing. liking to get a tan is also not blackfishing, as long as you don’t imitate the CULTURE. having a skin tone that’s a little darker than your own makes you look less pale and people have been doing it for ages without ANY context to the black community whatsoever.
Exactly, plus saying one race cant wear something (braids), is just moving backwards and segregating races more which causes more problems
she... is... imitating the culture??? she’s literally imitating the stereotypical black woman with her foundation and braids and aave n stuff bc it’s a “trend” or whatever...
@@fluteseok i understands shes trying to act like something shes not, but just because one race wears a hairstyle does not mean no one else can. I understand your point of view, but we need to stop looking at a person's skin tone and looks.
Shauna Raymond it can also come down to the fact that braids on different textured hair is actually damaging. A person of colors hair is often much thicker and stronger, built to stand the braid. Whereas those with straight hair, aren’t. It’s pretty, but there are things best admired from a distance. I wouldn’t want for anyone’s hair to fall out :(
she literally is purposely making herself look like a light skin black girl but okay
if she did a tan but still looked white, that’d be different. but she’s purposely making herself look dark. 😐
💕💕 love your videos!!! keep up the good work and effort!! :)
Its like pouring cardi b and nikita dragun in the same bowl
nismai underrated comment!
C-cardita 🅱️again..? 🥺👉🏾👈🏾
Trying to imagine what that combo would be called 😭
nismai A combo that should never exist!
(Being ambiguously ethnic is really trendy right now)
We all know this girl is white lol
And even though what she said about straight hair on black girls was hella ignorant to all the black girls throughout HISTORY, who couldn’t get a job because their hair was ‘to wild’... she still ain’t pretending to black
She’s ignorant, but she ain’t worth anyone’s time y’all xx
Phiji Ma So youre admitting that theres black priviledge?
Karynna Hill did you just miss the entire point homegirl just made or ?
Michael Ross Why dont you enlighten me, then? I have all the time in the world in this quarantine.
Shut** down
She's literally just having the same issue as James Charles with struggling to match her foundation? She's ORANGE,how TF is that black face?? Not to Mention she's literally always acted the way she acts,it isn't suddenly blackfishing because she got a tan. Call out her behavior and shitty makeup line instead of start rumors and cause stupid issues that don't exist. There plenty to call her out on and getting a tan isn't one of them. Not to mention she's right about the hair, braids and dreads have also been in white culture throughout history
Honorary Tuba she’s not orange, that’s the filter. Also a lot of black people have red undertones.
Emily Gittins (specific) braids are a culture, so yes it belongs to a race dumbass ..
Honorary Tuba bruh what that’s such an ignorant thing to say she talks in AAVE she wears darker foundation and say the n word and AFRICAN braids were not ment for her type of hair if you are not black you can’t not tell us how to feel
Emily Gittins it’s called culture babe
Guys she’s just trying to look like a typical “insta baddie”, it’s not that serious 🤦🏽♀️ she’s still young and wants to try things out. I think she definitely changed but there’s nothing wrong with it. If some of y’all had the money you would do the same. She’s not black fishing, she just looks like she got a spray tan, or maybe just spends more time outside sun bathing at her pool or whatever since she’s rich now. How could you be mad at someone for trying to look better? 😩
Then she should really stop saying the N word on insta live because it makes it seem otherwise
Kira Bleu exactly!!!
Don’t even-
lool how is it not serious when she looks like a different race? being young does not excuse being this ignorant.
I understand that some people are offended by her looks, and I feel sorry for them but right now she won’t change a damn thing. She’s doing her own thing and y’all (including myself) can’t do nothing about it. Stop making yourself crazy and just ignore her. Better for your own happiness and maybe better for her mental health. 🤷🏽♀️✌🏼
The internet rediscovered tanning and is going wild about it
Ikr🤧🤣
Peachy True! 😂
Frrr I tan
Tanning yea totally🙄
Tanning to the point where you look a whole another race? Yeah OK, I've seen real tans
She's been biting that style for years... she just added hair and a tan.
Ikr
Plus lips injections
I'm not sure where she went to tan or what tanning stuff she used but it doesn't even look like a tan at this point she looks like a carrot😂
ireallydont know biting style? we live in a globalized world more than ever cuz of the internet. We’re all inspired by eachother & that’s a good thing. 🤍✨
I don’t feel she’s blackfishing now, but the “I can wear braids cuz y’all wear wigs” is embarrassing
Bianca Almonte wait if your hair is straight and you get box braids how does it mess it up?
nctinthehouse it can cause ripping of the hair increase damage quicker and breakage. That’s why people with straight hair can’t wear it for as long than someone with texture/curly hair.
Bianca Almonte ‼️
@@ForeveGlitterGamer that and normally white people have thinner hair which causes more tension to be put on it and the oils in our hair produce quickly and arent as beneficial to out hair when exposed in excess, where as black women's hair NEEDS oils and moisturizers, white women's hair gets greasy and overloaded far quicker
She looks really good with black hair ngl let’s all pretend Ariana Grande isn’t doing the same thing
ariana is even darker loool
She looks like she doesn’t know the words of any of those songs

She’s hella annoying, don’t get me wrong BUT it just looked like she didn’t know her foundation shade, lets not be dramatic when we got actual people out here doing actual black face 🙄
THANK YOU
I totally agree
shes said the n word multiple times, she's trying to 'be black' acting 'ratchet' it's not blackface because it isnt coming from a place of disrespect, but it is blackfishing

@FCN_ Art lolololololol
Gordon Ramsay No excuse though she is old enough to know right from wrong.
her response essentially was "why do you care" and I have to say I agree lol
Me too
Amy Martinez Why do agree with her?!? This bitch is so racist. She says the n word. Bashing black women while wearing black culture. All she does is be in drama and appropriate. Here is an example of white people instead of listening and understanding black people. Y’all can’t have our back. This is your chance to show you understand what black people go through. But as usual you just show why we can’t trust you in discussions. I know there are good whites out there who can empathise with us. But this shit is getting old. It’s not your place to decide what is offensive or not. Stay out of it if your not black cause then we get dumb ass comments like this. That don’t help the problem. 🤦🏾♀️🙄
3:42 she was racist here and very ignorant
Amy Martinez - using that logic, why does anyone care about anything? if nobody cared about her she wouldn’t be where she is today sooo....
Faith Tholley fr
so she dyed her hair darker and can’t match her foundation shade? idk guys she’s very controversial but this is a reach :/
honestly lmao, alot of people are saying her spray tan is too dark, but its literally not, she still has white skin she doesnt look black at all because of her tan, and with her foundation honestly she could have had her untanned skin but used her tanned skin foundation shade which would make sense.
it's not tho. the MUA who did her makeup used a foundation from a company that's literally MADE for people of color. she's said the n-word on several occasions, worn box braids, & called black girls "bald-headed" bitches :/
lol agreed
It's a wig
Sebastian just threw Arianna Grande into a fuggin microwave and cooked her well-done... my fuggin SIDES Aaahhhahahahaha I just broke a rib from laughing holy shit
I didn’t see anything wrong tbh. I just see her foundation didn’t match her neck and the filter makes her look different.
NR 24 I think it’s mainly her defending white people saying the n-word but then she turn around and where hairstyles the black women made popular I don’t mind the braids but give us our credit and stop disrespecting us with that word you know what I mean
TBH
Janaiya Cook I see your
Point.
@@Boxinmaking Mexicans are people of color
Driftin' Seahorse Amen! I’m from the Caribbean too. I think she looks bomb in the braids 😬🤷🏽♀️.
@@sonjajerome2616 oml you're stupid if you think this is cULturAL aPproPriATiOn - wearing braids doesn't mean you're "pretending to be black" nor should you be criticized. they're braids, get over it lmfao. people wear things from other cultures all the time and no one gives a shit until it's something from black culture and all of a sudden everyone is up and arms. relax, we have bigger problems in the world right now

why is no one talking about the fact that shes a minor and showing herself like this
What wearing makeup and a wig jus showing a lil skin, okay I’ve seen worse. Younger kids have insta and there in damn bikinis trying to show ass and there breasts, trying to be like older adults. Yet these adults that these kids look up to are woman who make themselves look like strippers in front of everybody.
Tiff Nathan the fact that you compared the two- like you completely missed the point
Yes people are just dramatic everyone wears wings there is nothing wrong with wanting to be more tan or to want to wear braids

Culture definition
Edit: I NEVER SAID I WAS AGAINST CULTURE SHARING AND IM NOT OFFENDED BY IT
YES. I understand Vikings also wore braids
Because apparently a lot of people didn't pass basic biology
ig hair types of hair tings
I understand your point of view based the change skin color not being cultural appropriation, but on the other hand the definition provided is somewhat false. As we all know (not trying to be a conspiracy theorist), that definition was most likely made by someone who was either un experienced or white( not being racist or biased). History shows that in many cultures that are racially black, their texture and color of hair was based on their hair, and it shaped who they are. What I mean is that if it is included in a culture, it is within teach of being damaged by cultural appropriation. No offense to what you said though, because I respect it, just wanted to bless you with more information love ❤.
