Here’s the thing, I love the Morphe foundation because it’s so “drying” on dry skin tones. I have oily skin, and it still looks natural at the end of the day! I’m also super pale (as in, I use the lightest shade), and I don’t have the luxury of calling out brands for things like shade range and formula. There aren’t many brands that see extremely, basically albino pale people as an underrepresented population in terms of finding foundation, and when I do find foundation, it’s about 40 or 50 dollars! Morphe’s foundation is 18 dollars! So please back off, because I can tell you that the formula is amazing for oily skin, and has a shade range that sees both ends of the shade spectrum, extremely pale and extremely dark
This right here is why I just don’t keep up with the makeup community or follow mainstream UA-camrs anymore because everyone is so messy. okay but if you actually watched watched alissa's video she said she loves the foundation and just didn't like the concealer's unsertones... she literally stressed, several times, how "perfect" the foundation's undertones were for her skin... cmon clickbait king serving half truths for views.
most of the people complaining about the shade ranges for darker people are white people. poc cant even speak out about it bc whenever they do (like alissa) they get silenced by 1000 people shouting "WE Need mORe ShAdEs" like stfu. there's enough brands out there doing their best yknow
She also said she didnt like the consistency of the foundation that's not loving it. Loving the undertones isnt much when the product is watery and patchy. Also as fair as she is at this point the color being right shouldnt be that shocking
@@laceyharless5203 well maybe this foundation is for people with really wide ranging undertones idk, it's just that brands are being criticised sooo harshly when they're really trying :/
they tried to make it look like fenty has a worse shade range for more money announcing the product at the same time fenty announced the 50 shade range and ended up making a horrible foundation what did we learn? don’t try to overshadow miss fenty

Blue might be necessary depending on what the overtone is since a lot of darker-skinned people do technically have blue undertones, (this why some dark POC have cooler rather than warmer looking skin) but I'm with you on the purple. What the actual fuck lol
Contra Land let’s not let Rihanna handle the foundations. Don’t forget about how the foundation made tons of people breakout (abnormally), it has silicone in it (and other things that can’t be good for the skin), and it obviously oxidizes like crazy.
Olivia Salitore and Fenty is still $34 per bottle! Morphe was selling this foundation for a lot less. An all inclusive, quality line for every skin tone for an affordable price is still MIA.
@@oliviags1206 I had no idea. I watched a lot of reviews and the biggest problem was the foundation being a bit drying because of the matte formula. However, at least she got everyone covered with the undertones unlike Morphe
I have the Fenty foundation, and girl, let me just tell you this: *It ain't all That!* I have better foundations and some of them are even cheaper. I guess I was expecting more from it with all the hype that it got. Personally it's way too overhyped.
I feel like instead of 5 categories with 12 shades each, they should’ve done 12 different categories and given each 5 different undertone shades(warm, cool, neutral, warm-neautral, and cold-neutral)
It’s literally a foundation different people have different skin...they came out with 60 shades, it would work really well for someone with more oily skin, it’s there first time, and there actually are quite a few of people that really like it..also don’t just compare every makeup brand to fenty
I agree, people comparing every single brand to Fenty piss me the fk off. Go buy ur Fenty then and shut ur mouth if u cant accept the fact that brands are all different from each other and thats a good thing
No one is comparing it to Fenty but Morphe needs to research undertones before releasing so many shade. People hold Fenty at a higher standard because Rihanna actually researched all her shades and her formula is amazing.
I could go get some fit me at the drugstore for cheaper and better, it’s $18, and the shades look like they’re going to be good but they have weird undertones and it’s hard to match, just an opinion I think they flopped this.
Well in my opinion the price doesn’t always mean it’s cheap. I have many drugstore products that work a lot better than my higher end products (makeup, skincare etc) I mean I know it’s not always the case, but you can’t judge the product just by its price
Ana Cristina that’s true but in this case the product is on the cheaper side and a lot of beauty influencers were saying the formula is dry and not the best so I think morphe could have spent a little more on the formula to really make it a great foundation because they have a lot of shades and that’s what a shade range should look like but if they put a little bit more money and time into their formula the foundation could have probably been a best seller
I was gonna say the same thing. I watched that one. She redid her makeup after the powder and concealer didn't work out for her but she said the foundation was alright.
She literally said she liked the color of the foundation but the quality was inconsistent and patchy. That's nor calling it good. Just good in comparison to the concealers and powders
I don't know why I'm always watching make up related channels when I don't know anything about make-up ...but the drama that comes along with it is very entertaining and this girl love some tea
violet affirmations well then you must have a bad sense of humour and if you don’t think it was funny nobody told you to think it was just ignore the comment
Trend mood is always posting photos with a filter or filters that look nothing like the make up product, the shade range of this was not the problem at all, it was the undertones and very very matte finish
To be honest, even though I understand how hard it is for people of colour to get a good shade match, I have never been able to find a shade light enough for my skin tone. I used to be extremely pale, before I started tanning, and every foundation has had a yellow or pink undertone that was too prominent and didn’t match me at all. I use a very light gradual Tanner now though.
Adeline Diane thanks for this! I think it will help people. I have seen a few people talking about dry skin here in the comments and I mentioned that you said that, I wanted to make sure in case they hadn't seen your comment.

I would also like to make shades for people with albinism and really deep completions. And all the different undertones since not everyone just has yellow undertones
after years and years of finding my perfect foundation, im sticking to nyx cause it doesnt feel like im wearing a makeup since i only need to put a little cause it blends well with my skin tone
But if you're going to release a collection of makeup (or a product in general) shouldn't you release the best item possible. Then again I don't know what happens in the factories so maybe something can always go wrong.
@@khushigill8651 but I mean it's their first foundation, and morphe isn't necessarily known for perfect makeup quality. they're known for brushes if anything. if its bad quality that means other brands will step their game up and release more shades for their foundations
No, when you’re a brand as large as morphe and have such a huge launch like this there is no excuses! Morphe definitely has the coin to test this and make it perfect, there is no reason it should’ve left the lab with the wack undertones. There’s a difference between being inclusive because you genuinely care and take the time to make wearable shades vs seeing everyone else doing it and throwing something together half ass to make some coin.
Having a massive shade range is the trend this year companies and panicking trying to expand it and make sure they don’t get hate on twitter for not making darker shades that they’re just ignoring that the actual foundation needs to be good too lol. They’re only making all these shades to stay relevant
honestly 60 BS shades means nothing because they arnt good. They could have had 30-40 and if they are super good than no one would complain. It’s quality not quantity ladies
Emely Mateo I think she meant the shade range being good. There’s some brands that have 20 shades but is quite inclusive and realistic for WOC. Obviously more shades seems better but if the shades aren’t good I mean
i don’t really get why jackie was somewhat rude to nicol in her tweet... obviously the shades are going to look way different on her... she just didn’t have to say it like that
Jackie is rude af. And she clearly has a desire to feel better than other people. Here’s a list off the top of my head of other great black beauty gurus to watch instead: Cydbee, Nyma Tang, Youkeyy, TooMuchMouth, Kennie JD, TheSocialiteLife, and Alyssa Ashley. Feel free to add if you want
Ok this video is incredibly misleading. All these influencers primary issues were with the concealer, not the foundation, and your video makes people believe that Alissa said that her foundation undertone was bad when in reality she literally said that the concealer was off but the foundation was a perfect identical match.
although jeffrey is like a little problematic, his makeup reviews are always honest and that’s why i watch them. he never tries to cover up the truth even if it means dragging a makeup artist or company down. which is basically what everyone who’s buying the makeup wants.
I don't like Manny but it wasn't a fake review, he just didn't explain it well. He made a commentary from the perspective of dry skin. Even though he has oily skin, he pointed out that dry skin people won't like it because of the ultra matte and drying properties of the foundation which he didn't like. However he personally like the color, the lasting power, and the coverage. He just didn't emphasize the positives that he found, enough, which in the end, won for him. We have setting sprays and mists to help aid dry skin and matte foundations so it's not really a deal breaker for most, when choosing a foundation. Full coverage and staying power can be hard to find so smaller cons are workable.
Arjun Cooks ughhhhhh this mindset frustrates me so much !! People and brands “copying” Rihanna’s shade range is a good thing ! It sucks that it took so long for brands to get it but Rihanna’s foundation like has set the standard for shade range which is why it is still a good thing when other brands have large shade ranges
@@samanthabuckley7517 yea, for many brands to actually try going big is definitely good. But if it's just going to be this crappy then they better don't do it at all. okay but if you actually watched watched alissa's video she said she loves the foundation and just didn't like the concealer's unsertones... she literally stressed, several times, how "perfect" the foundation's undertones were for her skin... cmon clickbait king serving half truths for views.
most of the people complaining about the shade ranges for darker people are white people. poc cant even speak out about it bc whenever they do (like alissa) they get silenced by 1000 people shouting "WE Need mORe ShAdEs" like stfu. there's enough brands out there doing their best yknow
mhm that’s not what we’re saying. You’re right , there IS enough shades. But they are NOT the colors they say they are
She also said she didnt like the consistency of the foundation that's not loving it. Loving the undertones isnt much when the product is watery and patchy. Also as fair as she is at this point the color being right shouldnt be that shocking
@@laceyharless5203 well maybe this foundation is for people with really wide ranging undertones idk, it's just that brands are being criticised sooo harshly when they're really trying :/
mhm white people not caring about shades: RACICST!!!
white people fighting for shades: 'fucking annoying asses'
they tried to make it look like fenty has a worse shade range for more money announcing the product at the same time fenty announced the 50 shade range and ended up making a horrible foundation
what did we learn? don’t try to overshadow miss fenty

I really don’t get this whole matte foundation trend. They need to start making some dewy or at least satin finish shit
ChildOfDestiny m
Yes please. I hate matte foundation, it makes my already dry, flaky skin even more dry and flaky
For real. Especially with dewy/glowy skin and make-up being the trend right now.
Korean bb creams will do the job
Shshsh lol then it’s not for you....? Matte is perfect for my oily skin.. why would you wanna dry your face more 😭

ya because we need purple and blue undertones...
edit: thanks for the likes:)
kaydinjayne x Jaclyn Hill literally said they made GRAY undertones 😂😂
blue lives matter
Blue might be necessary depending on what the overtone is since a lot of darker-skinned people do technically have blue undertones, (this why some dark POC have cooler rather than warmer looking skin) but I'm with you on the purple. What the actual fuck lol
@@jesuusch Obviously that's for the vampires and zombies!

*So proud they thought of James and FlashBack Mary but this time* 😆
They should stick to brushes and maybe eyeshadows. Let Rihanna handle the foundations and concealers 🙅♀️
Contra Land her shit sucked
I have the Fenty foundation, and girl, let me just tell you this: *It ain't all That!* I have better foundations and some of them are even cheaper. I guess I was expecting more from it with all the hype that it got. Personally it's way too overhyped.
I feel like instead of 5 categories with 12 shades each, they should’ve done 12 different categories and given each 5 different undertone shades(warm, cool, neutral, warm-neautral, and cold-neutral)
Casey Greyson people would have been dissatisfied and disappointed
It’s literally a foundation different people have different skin...they came out with 60 shades, it would work really well for someone with more oily skin, it’s there first time, and there actually are quite a few of people that really like it..also don’t just compare every makeup brand to fenty
Stfu u probably work for them
I agree, people comparing every single brand to Fenty piss me the fk off. Go buy ur Fenty then and shut ur mouth if u cant accept the fact that brands are all different from each other and thats a good thing
The shades are literally clay
@Alastor no but I've seen many many swatches on people my complexion and they even tried it on and🤢
No one is comparing it to Fenty but Morphe needs to research undertones before releasing so many shade. People hold Fenty at a higher standard because Rihanna actually researched all her shades and her formula is amazing.
I love how the beginning is the edited like a conspiracy theory video
The shade range is good but I’m not surprised it’s dry when it sells for $14 that’s not very expensive so you can’t really have a high expectation
Abigayle Ballard the foundation retails for $18
I could go get some fit me at the drugstore for cheaper and better, it’s $18, and the shades look like they’re going to be good but they have weird undertones and it’s hard to match, just an opinion I think they flopped this.
Well in my opinion the price doesn’t always mean it’s cheap. I have many drugstore products that work a lot better than my higher end products (makeup, skincare etc) I mean I know it’s not always the case, but you can’t judge the product just by its price
Karla Hernandez oh I watched a video that says 14 but still 18 dollars is pretty cheap for a foundation
Alissa Ashley said the foundation was good, it was the concealer and powder that didn’t work for her.
I was gonna say the same thing. I watched that one. She redid her makeup after the powder and concealer didn't work out for her but she said the foundation was alright.
She also said it was inconsistent.
She literally said she liked the color of the foundation but the quality was inconsistent and patchy. That's nor calling it good. Just good in comparison to the concealers and powders

The morphe “Paint”
To be honest, even though I understand how hard it is for people of colour to get a good shade match, I have never been able to find a shade light enough for my skin tone. I used to be extremely pale, before I started tanning, and every foundation has had a yellow or pink undertone that was too prominent and didn’t match me at all. I use a very light gradual Tanner now though.
Something I do with dry foundations is put a drop of Argan oil if that helps??
Adeline Diane thanks for this! I think it will help people. I have seen a few people talking about dry skin here in the comments and I mentioned that you said that, I wanted to make sure in case they hadn't seen your comment.

But if you're going to release a collection of makeup (or a product in general) shouldn't you release the best item possible. Then again I don't know what happens in the factories so maybe something can always go wrong.
@@khushigill8651 but I mean it's their first foundation, and morphe isn't necessarily known for perfect makeup quality. they're known for brushes if anything. if its bad quality that means other brands will step their game up and release more shades for their foundations
finally some positivity.
The undertones are oompa loompa Orange, casket ready gray, sea sick green, and toddler tantrum red...

I like how they put guys in the pictures too! That’s really good. 👏🏻👏🏻
If you have oily skin, would this be good or..?
Having a massive shade range is the trend this year companies and panicking trying to expand it and make sure they don’t get hate on twitter for not making darker shades that they’re just ignoring that the actual foundation needs to be good too lol. They’re only making all these shades to stay relevant

that intro was so good that i thought it was a shane dawson video-
honestly 60 BS shades means nothing because they arnt good. They could have had 30-40 and if they are super good than no one would complain. It’s quality not quantity ladies
They have good quality foundation that doesn’t have enough shades
Emely Mateo I think she meant the shade range being good. There’s some brands that have 20 shades but is quite inclusive and realistic for WOC. Obviously more shades seems better but if the shades aren’t good I mean
i don’t really get why jackie was somewhat rude to nicol in her tweet... obviously the shades are going to look way different on her... she just didn’t have to say it like that

Ok this video is incredibly misleading. All these influencers primary issues were with the concealer, not the foundation, and your video makes people believe that Alissa said that her foundation undertone was bad when in reality she literally said that the concealer was off but the foundation was a perfect identical match.

Me: i really want a fondation to match my dead ashy looking grandma with gray under tones but i cant find one
Morphe: Hold my beer-
although jeffrey is like a little problematic, his makeup reviews are always honest and that’s why i watch them. he never tries to cover up the truth even if it means dragging a makeup artist or company down. which is basically what everyone who’s buying the makeup wants.
Makes me wanna go try out the foundation for myself to see how i’ll like it.
They’re playing with fire by going sixty shades...
Sounds like Queen Rihanna’s 50 shades If u ask me
Arjun Cooks ughhhhhh this mindset frustrates me so much !!
From the reviews we can see that the formula sucks and the undertones are weird af. Is that even human's skin shade? Majority of people don't have that kind of skin undertones.
People want diversity but when they get it is a copy of Fenty...
