Such an inspiring movie with so many messages and lessons...love it.
That movie clip demonstrated some excellent acting skill. Mother Cabrini was an amazing powerhouse who’s interest into helping the poor wasn’t even ‘embraced by all’. She didn’t care and only wanted to do what she felt was the right thing to do.
Ladies, It was her faith that helped her to stand up.
Amen! 🙌 Jesus is the source of my strength.. the only reason I'm even still here!
I just came back from seeing this movie. It is just so inspirational, excellent acting, great cast, and just such an eye-opening story of our history!
That clip gave me goosebumps.
I saw the movie last week and was very impressed! An extremely important and influential figure in US history finally getting her due recognition.
This movie is on my Movie List!
Saw this the night it opened & it got an applause @ the end. St, Cabrini knew her mission & was relentless in her pursuit of making the world a better place, particularly for children & women. This actress was excellent in her portrayal. The movie is great & remains relevant today. I am glad they told her story in film.
I remember going regularly with my mom to her shrine and we were not Italian. My mother always prayed to her . No one mentioned her struggles, which surprised me.
I absolutely loved that movie and her acting.
Joy, you are so informed about things. I love to hear your stories. I going to see the movie. So interesting. Woman doing extraordinary work for good.
She's 110, she's been around.
Too silly and petty reply. @@bigboss9756
Joy used to be a teacher. Her vocabulary is astonishing!
What a powerful scene!
Joy, my ancestors from Ireland were treated poorly too. It was not just Italians who were treated poorly.
Joy never said JUST Italians were treated poorly, but that they were treated poorly; which in itself is an understatement. That doesn't take away from any other group that has struggled in this country. Instead highlighting the Italian struggle in particular because that was in relation to the topic of conversation. Every group of people that has faced discrimination in one form or another could of course raise their hands and go me too! We were treated poorly also, but there is nothing wrong with speaking of an individual experience in this country.
Yes. Don't forget the blacks. We are still trying to integrate. Lol 😅
I went to this movie and was impressed with all of the acting and the story of the woman with such unwavering faith that all she needed to care for God’s children would be provided. I am so grateful The view did this segment promoting Cabrini ❤
Good segment. Very interesting story. Amazing! Sunny - keep up the good work.....
That was a great movie indeed..! 🙏🙏🙏😘💕🌸💠🌺💚
Love this movie!! Saint Cabrini❤❤❤
Cristiana was amazing in her Role. She's so beautiful, inside and out ❤
She did an amazing job ❤
Wonderful!
I love how Joy opened up with the history and then acknowledged how Italian people don’t face that discrimination anymore and we’re accept and now others are the subject to that hate and how we can change that. As a first generation latina myself I love that.
This was a fantastic movie
I've seen Cabrini, it's a great film. Go see it!
Mother Cabrini was from Northern Italy. She had blond hair and blue eyes.
And ......?
This stereotypical belief that Black people and Italians made better labourers because they could withstand certain climate conditions was the excuse used to deny their humanity... it is the same reason that Black women die at such high rates in our medical institutions because there is the belief that we can endure more pain... the reasons Italians were mistreated were they were Catholic... they weren't considered white because they were not Anglo Saxon Protestants... they were darker than other immigrants... so if you were an immigrant the closer you were to what was considered whiteness the better you were treated.
That's not necessarily true. Jewish people were among (and still are) some of the most vilified and persecuted ethnic minorities in world history. They are white and very often blonde and blue eyed and the avg person wouldn't be able to tell if it's Protestant white or a Jewish person. It's also because they assimilate more than any other minority did. Irish people also did the same blue collar work Italians, blacks, Mexicans did (do). Also Asians can be white skinned and still treated horribly and forced into camps. There is also emerging data that minorities who assimilate more might work against them. It can explain why racism for blacks vs almost none for Mexicans. Blacks do adopt an Anglo culture and religion (Protestantism).
@xKarenWalkerx Irish people where treated like kings and queens.
Joy needs to get her facts straight before she yaps. Plenty of northern Italians came to North America and they were all treated badly. My in-laws would tell us stories about the way they were treated and many times thought of going back to Italy but they found the strength and courage to stay and make a life in America.
And may I add legally.
Could you please explain why your family never returned to Italy even after they made 💰? Italy currently has a population crisis due to falling birth rates ( not enough workers, etc.) and the government would like the Italian diaspora to come home.
I don’t have a problem with anyone coming here but come legally.
I love Joy's perspective and bringing it to our current issues.
Joy is exactly who she is in person, outside of cameras as she shows us and other good people like you that recognize humanity. She’s attended many social cause events and mutual friend’s weddings so I van attest to her ball busting humor. She has more energy than most of my fellow younger friends. She truly cares to do her part for our country. Only a maga nut job would be blind to they and Trump’s con games.
All the ladies look nice today 😊
Interesting normally dont find something from the view worth watching, but this one might be worth it.
Whooow 😮 the voice is very, very 'ako. The only thing is i'm not a nun I can't be a nun, I value the truth and help support ❤️🙏🏼
Even as a nun, she had to combat/ skirt around the male hierarchy of the Catholic Church.
WE ARE ALL BORN THE SAME!...SOME OF US JUST WORK HARDER THAN OTHERS!
"We are all the same: Children of God and you dismiss us at your own peril".
Mother Theresa's role model! +++ The Church has a HISTORY of women of faith that sets the example of what God wants us to do. Joy...they're not vilifying immigrants today...it is about just letting 'em in without vetting and checking especially of how the world is today. Cristiana deserves at least an Oscar nomination.
I love Joy!❤❤❤
I love Joyce and all of these ladies in the latest cast assemble. Thank you for reminding us all about the present mistreatment of immigrants. And perhaps something is not said enough, old immigrants mistreat the new immigrants as well. Why do we have such short memory... what is school doing to help us remember, what is the media doing as well?
Blessings to the Catholic Church,. 1843😮😮
I wonder if Cabrini Green housing was named after this nun
The ohdgxk hair). Shave 😊
Cabrini Grean?
Frances Xavier Cabrini MSC (Italian: Francesca Saverio Cabrini; July 15, 1850 - December 22, 1917), also known as Mother Cabrini.
🕯.
Unfair comparison
Christina or Cristiana?
Cristiana

👍
Sad that God is mentioned very little
Italians weren't considered white back then ... but when other came that were more ''not white'', the newcomers were the new opressed ...
I rather would have seen Betty Davis in that role😅
Well, it's a little late for that.
Mother Cabrini was an incredible woman, they way she to care of the poor, and the children just amazing. These woman should look up to her especially with there sick view on abortion
Yes. Couldn't agree more!
I hate to break it to you, but you have the SICK view on abortion.
@DG-nk7jo not agreeing with the destruction of pre born humans is sick?
@@tiffanyblue1938 Soon you’re going to have a problem with men getting themselves off because their sperm is a “pre-born human”.
@@DG-nk7jo how so, are you saying it’s sick to be against human genocide?
Mother Cabrini stood up for immigrants, and humanity.
Must've voted blue
America can't even take care of it's own citizens that are sick, poor and disabled. How about some other countries in the world take a share of the load.
Don't make it political. She wasn't.
She would have been a Bernie supporter. 😅
Different time period, Different environment, and at that time she would have voted red.
What happened to our values?
Disappeared due to Anglo-Jewish influence.
She is not an American don’t confuse people Whoopi
This show is using a movie about the Catholic Faith as a political football. That is so sad religious.
Yeah Italians got invite and joined the "Protection for the complexion of white collection " they graduated from White adjacency to being white itself. Something a lot Latinos are hoping will happen. Just saying , let's keep it 💯😊
Many Latinos are already there. They despise their own sun kissed brothers and sisters. Legally, many are "white".
' do it herself "... This is why we need christian actors. In Christianity neither men nor women should rely on their own power. It is through the Lord. This was SO awkward
And GOP went to bring women in This era ! Oufff
Cabrini , a woman owned by god.🤪
Her strength was Jesus - not herself.
Have you seen him?! Stfu
Exactly. She was a nun. She did it out of love for Jesus.
That’s what she thought. But there’s no evidence that any god exists, so it’s likely not true.
My god, shut up
@@hal90001what's wrong with you?
Italians are known for their warmth towards external races 😏
Catholics in general, not only Italians.
No, they aren't. I lived there for over five years. They're warm only if they think they can get something out of you.
They were legal immigrants - not illegals immigrants. Secondly, the story is about faith, not gender.
THIS^^^ Yes! There is NO comparison.
They just hopped on a boat and came without any papers. They were legal only because they were not turned back to Europe upon arrival. Also, Mexicans are just coming back to the land that the US STOLE from them in the 1800s.
Let me guess Sunny was the first right? hahahah
This is not history. It is church lore.
And you know this because you were there or you know better than anyone else?
The plight of Italian Americans is history. Thank you.
@rachelshut up kkkmiller7525
Sorry. I should have clarified that I believe canonization, declaring sainthood, is church lore. After all, they made Pope John Paul 2nd a saint and he was a Nazi sympathizer during WW2 in Poland.@@anthonyreda993
You can tell that Cristiana is a real woman of substance; makes Sunny seem even more plastic and fake than usual. The movie is great, as is Cristiana's performance.
Trump 2024!!!
Worst. Acting. Ever. 😂
Ok, troll.
