A beautiful place with some spectacular waterfalls. Been here once many years ago. It was great to be reminded of this pace and to see more of it. Those hot air balloons were really great to see.
My very favorite place to go growing up. Used to ride my 10 speed following my grandfather on his Puch Moped from Castile and go down to the Glen Iris and see the upper and Middle falls. Family reunions every summer at the lower falls when the pool was still open. So many memories. All this over 40+ years ago. I still make this my stop about every 2 years when I go home to visit my aunt. Best park anywhere.
There are trails all over the 17-mile long park, so it depends on which ones you want. The south end of the park, west of the river, is the busiest part because that's where the three big waterfalls are. It's also got the densest concentration of non-hiking attractions - the inn, restaurants, museum, Nature Center, trout pond, river access for rafting, balloon launch site, most of the playgrounds & picnic areas, etc. Several short, easy trails plus the more challenging 7-mile long Gorge Trail are in the south. The Castile or Portageville entrances are best for those. Generally longer and less trafficked trails are mostly further north on the west side of the river, but a few are on the east side of the southern section too. West side is accessible via the Mount Morris entrance (furthest north) or Perry entrance (middle of the park). For east side trails use the Parade Grounds entrance near Portageville. Technically, I don't think they count this as a park trail, but a 20+ mile section of the Finger Lakes Trail runs roughly parallel to the park on the east. Access points are the Mount Morris Dam area in the north (not to be confused with the park's Mount Morris entrance, that's on the other side of the river) a few spots on River Road, and a small gravel parking area just east of the Genesee River bridge in Portageville outside the south end of the park.
just an aside, nothing to do with video, but i've noticed a distinct lack of DEI in many commercials...this is intolerable, let's pursue this thing go minorities
Well Done! You did my park proud, keep up the great work!
GORGEOUS! 🕊️ Also, your footage is well-done, and very clear.

U used to be able to tour the dam and do white water rafting
Thank you for giving an idea of the layout of parking to viewpoints. It has been difficult to access the ADA availability of the viewpoints.
Glad you found it useful
Great and informative video .. How nuch it took for u guys to explore the park ( in to out ) ? Will 2-3 hrs will be sufficient.?
We spent the whole day at the park. I would say, you atleast need a day here . In 2-3 hours, you can quickly cover the major view points
can you get in the falls?
Where is the best entrance to park to take the trails?
