I like to think the player doesn't even have magical powers, they just carry severed hands from wizards with them and use those as weapons. Would explain the levitating spell being the only hand that's missing fingers. The lore goes crazy for this one

I just wanted to say thank you to all the devs that fixed the bugs and actually spent time making the game better. Instead of adding sickening camera shaking, poop, and more attacks.
Fr strompy made the game not only look like a unity asset flip with thr post processing but also sickeningly bad camera shake and needless up and down movement of the camera. Worse thsn the poop addition imo.
Poop and more attacks ain't that bad tbh. I would rather more gimmicky and mechanics than some shooter that has nothing special other than it being some random doom type copy. Camera shaking kinda weird.

The issue with some of these devs is that all they want to do is leave their mark on the game rather than trying to make it better. Sometimes just changing random stuff or adding a new weapon that’s not necessary
@MicheleDelGiudice-mykys Not true at all. More bug fixes. The 2nd level wasn't even functional for some reason when they reviewed at the end. More levels, which includes more enemies and bosses. Making a cohesive story. Polish. Making the parry mechanic a bit more difficult. Working out how to assign the different hands to new spells since apparently nobody can figure it out. May require a rewrite of that part of the code.
Did anyone else notice that after the guy gave everything white outline so that enemies were visible, it kept getting lost every time it was traded to a new dev

@@Benw8888 Remember, starting this year, removing stuff is off the table because the audience bitched so much whenever that happened in the early episodes. I think overall this will be a good thing, but ocassionally when some things don't work you need to trim the fat. Just as long as you don't just remove stuff because you don't get it. But I don't know how you'd even come to a perfect solution in a challenge about not communicating.

A personal note from a longtime game player: While big numbers are an easy way to make an attack feel impactful, by removing the small numbers in order to implement them, you distort the frame of reference for how much damage you are actually doing, which can remove ALL impact from the display, effectively reducing it from a helpful tooltip to meaningless visual clutter.
Yeah I'd be perfectly okay with Vitali not joining more of these because the poop thing isn't nearly as funny or not weird as he seems to think it is. He did the same bit during that competition a while ago

Good idea then you keep the work and mechanics of throwing and can tie in with the games aesthetic allot more, only problem is I wonder if it’s too late now as allot of work has leant into the idea of being more of a satirical game with the story and ending.

I actually think adding the shit mechanic was the best thing they could’ve done. It gave the game a central story and made it feel like it had an idea rather than just a bunch thrown together
I think the poop mechanic in the game is cool, ONLY IF THEY IMPLEMENT IT INTO A NEW SPELL AND REPLACE THE POOP WITH SOME SORT OF MAGIC, it's really disappointing seeing this wonderful game be turned into a laughable poop simulator basically, and the mechanics of it could be turned into a new type of spell to create an object, which only has to be retextured poop
at this point, i dont think they can remove the poop. other devs built on the mechanic and added a story to it, to remove the poop you have to either remove their work as well or decontextualize their work. Given how much time they have for each segment, they are sacrafising adding/fixing more important stuff and risking upsetting everyone who liked poop

lore idea. When you learn a new spell, each finger on the hand will have come from a slain wizards, which would allow you to claim to the power of the spell. This limits you to only 5 spells, but would potentially allow some progression ideas to make stronger spells.
Thatd be a cool mechanic too if there was a spell combination system like in Magika 2 and the spells you could combine were based on what finger you claimed on the level. A dragon finger gives fire spells, a skull finger bone gives necromancy etc stc

The guy who said he had his dad make that game for him? They really should just stop inviting him, he seems very immature and like he doesn't take it seriously at all. I am not saying you can't have fun, but he just doesn't seem that committed and comes across as more of a troll. Fortunately, it looks like here at least, the later devs decided to just roll with it and actually do something worthwhile with the concept, and eventually turned it into something worth keeping, saving the game. Although really the same concept could have been done with almost anything else (for example an Eternal Chest and Enchanted Keys that are required to unlock it but can still double up as throwing weapons causing magical effects).

Sorry gang, the swing in the poop direction totally ruined my interest in the rest of the series. I tried to keep going but most of the way through the video that's still the pitfall. I actually think adding the shit mechanic was the best thing they could’ve done. It gave the game a central story and made it feel like it had an idea rather than just a bunch thrown together

I think the poop mechanic in the game is cool, ONLY IF THEY IMPLEMENT IT INTO A NEW SPELL AND REPLACE THE POOP WITH SOME SORT OF MAGIC, it's really disappointing seeing this wonderful game be turned into a laughable poop simulator basically, and the mechanics of it could be turned into a new type of spell to create an object, which only has to be retextured poop
at this point, i dont think they can remove the poop. other devs built on the mechanic and added a story to it, to remove the poop you have to either remove their work as well or decontextualize their work. Given how much time they have for each segment, they are sacrafising adding/fixing more important stuff and risking upsetting everyone who liked poop

lore idea. When you learn a new spell, each finger on the hand will have come from a slain wizards, which would allow you to claim to the power of the spell. This limits you to only 5 spells, but would potentially allow some progression ideas to make stronger spells.
Thatd be a cool mechanic too if there was a spell combination system like in Magika 2 and the spells you could combine were based on what finger you claimed on the level. A dragon finger gives fire spells, a skull finger bone gives necromancy etc stc

The guy who said he had his dad make that game for him? They really should just stop inviting him, he seems very immature and like he doesn't take it seriously at all. I am not saying you can't have fun, but he just doesn't seem that committed and comes across as more of a troll.
Fortunately, it looks like here at least, the later devs decided to just roll with it and actually do something worthwhile with the concept, and eventually turned it into something worth keeping, saving the game. Although really the same concept could have been done with almost anything else (for example an Eternal Chest and Enchanted Keys that are required to unlock it but can still double up as throwing weapons causing magical effects).

Personally I hope one of the next 50 devs fixes the graphic discrepancy with the hand having less fingers then having all fingers depending on the hand's position and spell being used.

Great vid guys and to DualWielded for putting it together. This game is shaping up to be something ridiculous and awesome, all devs 1- 50 have done a great job so far!
What I like about this is that it kinda unites indie games devs to create one bigger game
It's reasonably well known that twice as many devs makes gamedev take twice as long, but now I see why - if they were all good devs, it'd be great, but there's always one or two of them that seem to actively try to ruin it

Maybe this sounds harsh, but this is two videos in a row that Vitali kind of botched in my opinion. It's easy to see he's not engaging with things seriously.
