- Got the idea that it would be neat to remove a broadhead that I had left in a tree over 11 years ago, after making a pass through shot on a deer, and try to kill another deer with it. I could never have imagined that it would happen on my very next sit.

Get them ducks in a row, I need that sharpening jig. Hope it’s sooner not later. Great video.
I use a metal detector pin pointer to locate arrows that went under the grass or dirt level. It works great. Thanks for the cool story.
That would be the best way to do it, but where this hunt took place is the site of an historic revolutionary war battle, and metal detectors aren't allowed.
I love all of your videos but this is probably one of my favorites!
Great story and video. Keep them coming
pretty awesome and what a story. great take along and awesome reuse of a recovered broadhead. very high cool factor Chris. You and Robert always make me wish that I could still climb trees and walk the ground. I'm trying to get my first selfbow kill from either a blind or a short stand
Congratulations and thanks for sharing
Screwing on my tree sharks for my next hunt. Land sharks will get some rest. Another great video!
That was pretty cool!
These kind of videos sure keep me pumped!
Outstanding! Loved every part of this. And your willingness to go thru all the work to get it and make it hunt ready again. Such an amazing experience.
Gosh, got me all fired up.
I really appreciate you sharing your experiences with us Chris. I enjoy all your videos.
Awesome video, Chris! Thanks for taking us along.
Awesome story and great video. Keep them coming. Also would love to know more information about the sharpening jig. Thank you
I'm trying to get everything lined up so I can bring it to market. This is the last prototype revision of a guide I designed about 12 years ago. I just got the patent paperwork filed.
@@TaggingOutTraditional Please let us know when you do....I love simmons broadhead and I'm terrible sharpen them. I get them good enough but I need something to take them to the next level sharp. As always I enjoy your videos....
Awesome story and hunt!
I'm late seeing this but outstanding story and video!
Absolutely awesome
Great video sir! Love the story behind all that. Definitely gonna share it with some buddies. I also need to be put on a list to buy that guide once you have a few in hand!

Mission accomplished! Way to go, Chris!
Great hunt. Congrats!
Awesome story
Really enjoyed this one👍
Nice story line. You need to mark that head for its harvests. Put it in a plaque not yet though. Awesome.
This was an awesome video dude!!
That was awesome!
Thanks for video
Very cool story
Awesome video
Awesome!!!
Man that was cool!
Wish they had glue on Simmons in a smaller design than just the Tree Shark for use in lighter weight bows. Guess screws in would work, just always liked to glue on my broadheads so I could aligned them a certain way.
You can twist your insert to align them a the way you want, as long as your insert is hot melted in and not epoxied
@@seanbyham7838 Duh! With using hot melt and glue on points the heat loosen the insert too so there goes your straightness and alignment. Haven't used hot melt for 60 years, only epoxy of gel super glue. This is not my first rodeo!
I'm shooting a #45 lb. Recurve, but a short draw 26" .picked up some 175 gr. Swamp sharks. I'm shooting GT 600s with a 50 gr. Insert. Think I'll get enough penetration if I go with the tree Shark?
What would be a good Simmons head for a 44# pound hybrid longbow at my draw which is 27in. really like all your videos. Thanks for sharing them. Thanks
Hey Chris, any update on that sharpener you were working on?? Thanks!
Perfect shot <
What. Camcorder u useing to flim with..
Alright, great video. Did you build the guide or is it commercially available?
It's the last prototype revision of a guide I designed about 12 years ago. I just got the patent paperwork filed, and I'm trying to get everything lined up so I can bring it to market.
What guide is that?? My stay sharp is to small for tree sharks and that would be super helpful to have

What guide u useing
Great video! Just found your channel. I just switched to tree shark's 165 glue on with my long bow from 3to1 single bevel Grizzlys. I'm having some tuning problems with the shark's I'm shooting 48lb slick stick longbow 700gr arrow 27.5 500 carbon 200gr SS inserts 265 tree shark if I get a really good Release they are dead on any little mistake and they are off. Do you have any tuning problems with them? Thanks
I've never had any issue with arrow flight from the Treesharks. I always bareshaft tune out to a minimum of 20 yards. After that, they will fly true with as little as three 4 inch feathers.
What broadhead jig and sharpener is that
This is the last prototype revision of a guide I designed about 12 years ago. I just got the patent paperwork filed, and as soon as I can get all my ducks in a row I'm going to bring it to market.
What sharpening rod is that

And then let us know so we can delete our comment
PLEASE EDIT THIS VERY FINE VIDEO TO CUT OUT AND REPLACE WITH A BETTER SAFETY BACKSTOP OF THE FOOTAGE OF YOU SHOOTING IT IN YOUR YARD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IS BAD SAFETY.
This target block is in the worst possible location I can imagine, if an arrow gets away on you, It could skip off the top and kill kill your neighbor.
You’re a VERY good shot but still, this shows incredibly poor judgement regarding safety. Otherwise your video tells a very good true hunting experience.
