Awesome video of a great shot with instinctive! Just getting back into archery hunting after 25 yrs..Got a little tiny Bear Supermag 48" and been shooting it almost every day for the past 3 months. Feeling real confident out to 15-18yds shooting instinctive.. Cedar arrows and single bevel 125gr are flying real nice. Can't wait for fall..
I was reading a very old bowhunting book. I'm talking old, before compounds were even remotely around. And the author went on to say how you should avoid single bevel broadheads on big game. My state of MN, it's actually illegal to use a single bevel broadhead for deer hunting. I'm not saying it won't kill a deer. I've seen enough guys using them to know it's more about shot placement than anything else. But there is something to be said for a razor sharp broadhead. I'm lucky I have an uncle who helps me sharpen my broadheads. They are scalping sharp by the time he's done with them. Sharpening is a lost art but a very important step.
Are you shooting instinctive or gap just wondering your a great shot l have been hunting traditional for 35 years just now started trying gap shooting lm beginning to like it thanks for the great videos
I'd probably consider myself a split-vision shooter. I don't consciously judge distance, but I do set my windage based off of the arrow in my peripheral vision. All elevation is purely subconscious. I've played around with gap shooting in the past, but anytime I pull my focus back from the target, and more toward the point of the arrow, I don't shoot as accurately.
I've tried just about everything over the years, even scent lok clothing, but it all comes down to the wind. In this heat, when sweat is dripping off of you for 30 solid minutes after you get on the stand, there's no hiding your scent, or covering it up.
Enjoying the videos! Getting me excited about this upcoming season. Pretty dang impressive killing a deer on your firts hunt in an area you've never been before. Nice job.

Fantastic hunt! Nothing Better than going in blind to a new area and making it all come together!
You got that right!
Great hunt! Those big old does can be real tough but you executed perfectly, as always. Thanks for sharing
Man, I wish I always executed perfectly. I should make a bloopers video. lol
Watching that swamp rabbit eating a persimmon was worth the price of admission by itself
Yeah, I hadn't seen that before or since.
Man, that was great. A real fun watch. With season quickly approaching here in GA, this video had my heart racing like I was the one in the tree!
Good stuff as always! Keep'em coming!
Keep them coming! Looks like you have a pile of older videos saved up.
Great footage
In Illinois they scent check twice and gone. They don't ignore scent at all.
I think she caught a whiff and was confused as to where it might have come from.
Deer sure love the sweets. I would have taken that shot too. She was very cautious and nearly got away but you made the shot count. Well done Sir.
Congratulations!
What your bow and broadhead set up ?
Good Hunting !
Nine times out of ten, it's my 63# @ 28" Centaur longbow and a Simmons Treeshark.

I really like the suspense because of your experience. But you let her get in your scent cloud under the tree. Congrats nice harvest clean.
Not much you can do when they're head on and coming toward you.
Great stuff here as usual! Shoot 'em up!
Do you spray down with a certain scent eliminator Chris?
