Must be clairvoyant because I was literally going to ask for your impressions on this set... Some yt reviewers seem jaded possibly because of the sheer volume of iems they have heard; can skew one's perspective on new gear and even lead to undue bias. I appreciate the fact that you genuinely still enjoy the listening experience with any new iem... quite refreshing
Haha thanks 🙂Truth is im loving listening to all this new gear. The tging is though that we are at a stage where so many options exist at every price point. Iv been in the hobby since the late 90s and havent got tired yet of seeing the boundaries being pushed. I think my favourite to review is in that 200-300 dollar category. I think for most people thats the sweet spot and iems there are such good value.
@@AudioLevels If the industry keeps moving in this direction (consistent growth & development) , the iems at $1k or more are going to see their audience seriously diminish as tech pushes the threshold and slowly becomes more affordable. Planars are the most current tech example that comes to mind
Hey! What was the name of the tips you recommended, that are NOT foam, but silicone only? Love your stuff man & your keeping on these Planars until I’m gonna have to buy a set for myself! Thanks as always for the great reviews!
Thanks for another great review. I am wondering what genres of music you are listening to that make the P1s sound “God Tier.” I got the P1s two years ago, based on good reviews, have tried them with countless tips & difft gear but I don’t understand what the big deal is. I appreciate the build quality, accessories & quality cable though! Thoughts?
For me, jazz, acoustic, strings and atmospheric genres are fantastic. Interstellar soundtrack, two steps from hell, einaudi etc when i say i like them so much its part of a multi IEM setup. I listen to a lot of music but choose a “tool for the job” im fortunate enough to have that luxury but for others maybe a more suitable alrounder is best in a single iem setup. The other thing about the P1 is the are power hungry and scale like crazy. I use them with a dx300 or Dethonray. Using without a powerful source does make them sound worse despite what is suggested with impedance ratings etc. Did you settle on something else or are still searching?
I enjoy the 7Hz Timeless (the fit is better than the P1 for me) for multiple genres at lower listening volumes but have been blown away more recently by the LETShuoer S12, which is a fantastic all rounder & comfortable set to wear for long listens. Though not a planar, I love the DUNU Titan S for price, sound, build quality & comfort.
I'm currently saving to get the Hook X and hope to be able to order a set next month. I have the Timeless and really enjoy them and simply want to try the Hook X because of the fact they're different and come with what can only be seen in my eyes as higher end accessories. To me a cable that can be used with multiple terminations is a huge plus so if a set doesn't already come with that feature I have to buy an aftermarket cable. So I always factor that into the cost of any given set. With the Hook X already coming with that type of cable to me it makes the actual cost of the IEMs $69 or so dollars cheaper. I really like the Kinera Leyding cable and it's one of the cheaper cables I go for hence the $69 price I factor in as that's what it costs...
Agree on the Leyding - I don't get the love for the Monarch Mk 2 cable. I have it and swaped for the Leyding. Don't know why anyone would want such a heavy cable on an IEM. As a cable sceptic, I look for light, soft, non-tangling and versatile, Leyding and the Moondrop with the 3 connectors are really good options IMO.
Good comparison and it seems like planers are the earphone to beat in the £200 price bracket, do the timeless and the p1max have the same proprietary driver?.
Planars for me are the gold standard at this price if your source can support it. The driver may well be the same, a lot of these companies dont have propietary parts. However without cracking them open its hard to say.
I have got my p1max for 84bucks, I think it is the best bargain I have ever encoutered. Very technical iem that doesnt lag (when driven properly) behind my kilobuck stuff that much (its close, very close for the price, it shouldnt be this close)!!!
I’ll admit I did by the monarch MKII. It was a lot of money but so far every time I think I shouldn’t have bought it I’ll just put it in my ears and then it’s OK. Azla tips were a game changer for me. I tried so many but now that I’ve tried four of their different options I can say they are the best in terms of quality, fit and sound. I generally think wide bore tips sound better. I think other tips compress sound but it could be my ears since I normally have to use the smallest tips available because of my ear canals
Honestly, between Z and DMS, audio levels should be included. i love your reviews they are some of the best no nonsense or wasted time reviews. Too many reviews talk too much i find
Thanks that means a lot. Part of starting the channel was just ti get to the point. Packaging, price, build, sound, comparison, conclusion. It might be a bit boring to some in that format but im trying to reach newcomers and vets alike. I find that gormat lets people go back and compare videos abd thoughts etc. The one thing i dont want to do is write speak poetry about a headphone lol…. Or overwhelm people with very niche jargon. Still growing and learning though and i hope to up the quality of the videos a lot this year 😁 Thanks for watching.
Hi I love all your videos and was looking for some advice. I recently bought my 1st IEMs zs10 pro. I like them however looking for something a little better. I tried the Arias and didn’t like them had to crank the sound up full just to hear them. I like base so I listen to a lot of dance music , like Darren styles , Ben Nicky. I also love bands like oasis , the verve and artic monkeys. I listen to rap as well like Eminem , Joyner Lucas and 2 pac. Please help a fellow Scot 🏴. I have an iPhone 13 pro and no amp or DAC aparT from the lightening DAC from Apple.

Will they work fine with phone without dac and amp?
Hi, Will u consider reviewing the LetShuore S12 which is a planar magnetic iem. If u plan on doing it compare it with P1 plus and p1 max.
P1 Max more neutral

Azla Sednaearfit 🙂 I love them.
May we have the links to those recommended tips please?
Yes please
Sorry 😞 here you go, www.amazon.com/AZLA-SednaEarfit-Crystal-Buds-Pairs/dp/B097G272CG
Azla xelastecs Eartip run big so if you wear medium you need to order a size MS or even an S. Go down at least half size

@@rwalton6096 Do you prefer the S12 over the timeless ? and have you heard the p1 max ?
@@blitz6167 I like the S12 a little more than Timeless. I know about p1 Max but haven’t heard it.
Nice review. Thanks for taking the time!
Would you mind listing the cables links you mentioned in the video? Cheers!

So out of all the planar iems, which is the one you like best if you have to choose only one of those you just shown in this video?

Are they still worth it? I want a warm sounding iem
Could you provide a link to the earphones and to a better replacement cable
Thanks
I cannot find the link to the tips you talked about. link please?

Whats ssr?
@@AudioLevels moondrop SSR iem
I think this one is the planar for me.
