TINHIFI P1MAX - Giant Panda is incredible!!

  • TinHifi is not new to the planar game, the P1, P1 Plus and P2 are all testaments to their experience with this style of transducer technology.
However their tuning of said drivers left some in total bliss while others couldn't get them out their ears quick enough.
Personally I have a P1 Plus and while it's not my favourite tuning style, neutral with mild energy upper mids /lower treble, I can appreciate it for what it is, a very correct sounding, detailed earphone that needs power to bring out it's true potential.
The P1 Max takes that basic neutral formula and adds comparatively to the P1 Plus some serious energy in the lower registers and also up top where the " twinkles " reside.
What does this exactly mean, well it's still a neutral sounding iem but the huge 14.2mm planar brings a fun factor to that neutrality, making the bass have true presence down below 60hz, coupled to true slam, clean mids that are always in my opinion tonaly very correct and finished off with some smooth as silk highs.
It's doesn't have the high detail resolving and 3d capability of the 7hz Timeless, nor the almost " basshead " bass of the LetShuoer S12, but what it does have is the same sense of "special" you get from the Raptgo Hook X.
What do you mean Akros you all may ask?!
In much the same way the Hook X captivates by having qualities the Timeless and S12 offer, from the authoritive bass, organic mids, detailed upper end, the P1 Max Panda has this very entoxicating way of playing music where the more you listen the more you truly start seeing how good it is, how relaxed but surprising it can be, from a bass that at times really makes me think, is this really neutral, Pete Belasco Deeper being a perfect example, to the flawless organic manner in which Elephant by Carol Duboc is played back.
The P1 Max Panda is a well executed earphone, that has the TinHifi Planar house sound but the special sauce that was added, makes it a recommendation to all those wanting a laid-back planar !

Interesting review. P1 Max sounds like a keeper, neutral, more relax as daily driver, but when needed I can push it with more power and get the details. Thanks.

Panda is unrealistic, cool, smooth and at the same time emotional planars. Over the year I have tried many planars (including S12/12Pro, but this one is not - too catchy on the lower HF and peaceful on the midrange) and settled on the P1 Max. The most amazing thing is that the more reputable the source, the more interesting they play. From a large hospital, I’m generally afraid to listen to them, they show such sound/emotions that no other large headphones have produced. In general, I’m shocked - that many reputable reviewers didn’t notice them, it’s a shame. TinHiFi, BRAVO !!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Great review as always. Four prior planar releases, and changing to 2 pin as well. That gives me confidence in their likely reliability. Smooth top end also sounds better to me, than detail at the expense of harshness. The Panda becomes very tempting. I understand that 7Hz have a new planar release in the works, that may further shake things up. 2022 looks to be year that planars become mainstream!

Finally got my TinHifi P1 Maxs in for a few days now. I have owned the 7hz Timeless and the Shuoer S12s for several months now. I am glad I got them because they are a little less oomph in the bass department and the gain in the penta part of the FR is more to my liking. I am shooting for the Thieaudio Elixir next. I know it is not a planar but from what a have read from a few reviewers I can trust and what FR that has been published, the Elixer should be right in my wheelhouse.

@@shreyanshvalentino the p1 max is my favorite tuned planar. The Thieaudio Elixers were a huge home run for my ears. Much much better than my my next favorite which were the KATOs I consider my modded Olina above the P1 Max.

Based on the graph alone, this planar seems to win the others. Nice review Tony. I think I prefer the S12 shell. It's so small and light.

Another great review, thanks Akros, one can tell you are passionate for the hobby! In my collection I have Shuoer S12, getting the Raptgo Hook this week, and this video made me think the next one is the giant panda, since it is different enough to merit the buy, and I do enjoy different sound signatures. PS I wonder if you are Portuguese too!

Tony- interested in how you snuck that dark magician in there at the last minute lol. Given how they’ve retuned it and I can no longer just easily buy it. What’s the stage like on the p1 Max in comparison? is it as 3d?
Also I know you’ve considered some mods for these iems, are there any you’d care to share?

    Terriffic job.
It's sonically better than my P1 and, for me, more comfortable although the P1 was fine. I got an all-time high 11 sets of ear tips
in the box and although one of the foam ones wound up working okay for me out of all of them I wound up switching to Azla Xlastics.
I also like my HookX but for one all-arounder I'll grab these.

It's ironical watching a review of an audio product with such a low audio level....

  • @abhimawa1
    @abhimawa1 2 роки тому

Interesting video. However I strongly doubt those reputable reviewers you mentioned know the “correct” things, especially when it comes to audiophile world. One may subtract what is there, but may NOT “add” that is not there, and even reputable tonearm designer like Frank Schroeder never want to say things about accuracy 🫢
