I don’t know why but this made me cry and proud of my Polynesian people and who we are. Grateful to our ancestors and the elders that guided us here. Happy to see my people hope one day I can get to see this in person #lovethis
I sailed over there 4 years ago and STILL cannot get over how beautiful that place is. I left the day the cultural week and Heiva was starting and will regret it to my dying day! If I get lucky again, I'm going straight back!
As a Poly Uso here in the U.S it's always fulfilling to know cultures are staying strong like this example in Tahiti. A crap experience in Samoa from my own family made me steer away from learning more about my roots when I arrived from U.S. Am. Samoa Hist was required to graduate so I learned just enough and made friends who helped me through but after child abuse paid my fair back to U.S I disowned them all. Yeah it made me stronger but I know they don't represent the whole so one day I'll go back on my own terms and go from there. Till then watching freshTv is koo for now lol
The younger generation is still struggling finding their way in this modern world but there is still a strong will to support the REO Maohi by the elders and now there’s a lot of youngsters, proud and willing to keep it and promote it!! I have faith in them !
Yes...It does look similar as we are all Polynesian cousins...but it is still very unique to Tahiti...the dance is known as "Ori Tahiti" or the dance of Tahiti....Mauruuru roa for your comment!

In Tahiti the national language is French and the indigenous language is Tahitian (Reo Maohi)
@@heilaniproductions That's pretty sad. Hope they are still preserving their language.
