Car vertical doesn't really work. I've used it on 3 silverados and every time it gives the wrong year and model. Its honestly 50/50 if it works. BUUUT its still hilarious they never checked it lol

@@kieranallen9892that was my first thought. One of my old cars was hit from the rear whilst parked outside my house. I paid for the parts myself and was way cheaper than if I went through insurance.
It was dented pretty bad and fitting the light cluster and bumper was very tricky.
Car vertical would have said it’s all good if they did a check on it.

I've experienced three Corsas in my life:
The one I learnt to drive in, which broke the day before my test, forcing me to do it in a car with failing electrics.
The one I went to look at for my first car, that had an obvious manifold leak.
The one my mate owned, which was so ratted out it couldn't do 70 mph up a gentle hill on a motorway.
So this is probably one of the best on the road.
I've experienced 6 (two of which were mine and four were the Corsa C)
None of them had any issues or things go wrong (that other cars wouldn't suffer from).
Two of which were bought with 6k on and sold with 110k on
@@dannb0dge Back in 2006 I got a 2005 SXI 1.2 Twinport. 80hp in a 950kg car, it felt quick and had no problems hitting 110! I still regard it as one of the best cars I've ever owned and I keep toying with the idea of buying one as a bit of a project.
My first car was a Corsa which had the vaguest gearbox in the world - you pushed the gear lever in the direction of where the gear was and hoped for the best because there was nothing to tell you it had gone into gear. You needed to plan overtakes a day or 2 in advance because it was so underpowered. My first and last Vauxhall
I own one now, it's mechanically sound and it runs ok, but god do you have to rag it to get any kind of performance from it and if you corner too hard you fall out of the seat XD Great little car if you want to feel like you're driving on the edge all the time

Do a junkyard run for cheap spare parts Rory, the Corsa D shares platform and spare parts with the Grande Punto/Punto Evo and the Alfa MiTo, so plenty of engine mounts, mirrors and exhaust, LOL

They are honestly not as bad as everyone says they are. If you warm it up normally, service it well and dont drive it too slowly, the engine and gearbox are totally fine. The open airfilter will cause more fuel consumption on these engines tho, the 1.6 (Z16, A16 and B16 Vauxhall/Opel Engines) dont like open airfilters like the 2.0 Vauxhall engines do. The M32 gearboxes are fine if you overfill the oil from 2.4L (OEM) to between 2.7 and 3.0L. Also don't accelerate too hard from low RPM, especially in 5th and 6th gear. Mirrors are known to fall off like your did. it is fixable if you disassemble the feet that is attached to the door, there are little metal bars inside that it clips in to. you have to bend those to each other so it is a little more tight and doesnt fall off anymore. fairly simple fix but something not many people in the scene know (Fun fact; they are the same mirrors as on the Noble M500). The speedo not working is common aswell, there are 4-8 soldering points that need reflowing and it will work like new again. Finally, the exhaust did have a decat on it. The Corsa VXR have 2 Catalytic converters, 1 is in the Downpipe and 1 is underneath the car. You car had the first Cat removed, which is the best one to remove. if you have a 2007, 2008 or 2009 Corsa VXR (Z16) the 2nd lambda is after the 2nd cat, so you will not get any emissions or fault codes from it. Will give you about 2-5Bhp and roughly 10Nm without mapping, but will definetely improve throttle response.

Don't believe him, they are awful a mate had one when they were about 5 years old did more engines than tyres. Ended up throwing into a car auction to get rid of it. Absolute piles

The stainless downpipe is to replace the pre-cat, the standard one is very restrictive so this was/is likely mapped. Good luck, I had to rebuild the engine once (Piston 4 has 0 cooling and will melt) and replaced the gearbox twice. When it's well sorted on good suspension and a stage 2 they are an absoloute riot.
It's probably mapped looking at the cloud of smoke it leaves behind itself

As a former corsa vxr owner, these issues are typical issues. I replaced all 3 mounts while I had mine, had leaky rear shocks and then a slight oil leak from the bottom of the dipstick pipe. Vibratech engine mounts work great to stiffen everything up
The gearbox bearings were on their way out. I was quoted over £1000 by many garages and gearbox specialists. Got them replaced by a company which almost exclusively deals with the M32 boxes in Halifax for like £300
Once the little issues are sorted it’s probably one of the most fun cars for the price, at least while piston 4 is intact.
I now have an E93 M3 and sometimes miss the corsa purely for asbo reasons like the 3” double decay exhaust and the insanely loud induction noise. And the fact it was like a go kart

1:19 I think it's the opposite, if the rear window has a greater angle than the front it means that if the front is 45⁰ the rear would have to be 50⁰ or more and that would be a weird looking coupe. I think he gave the definition of a hatchback not a coupe.

15:03 my astra h did that. A catastrophic ECU faliure was the culprit. (2 weeks after i bought it, it kind of set the tone) That car will be the only vauxhall I ever own
Our family car is a Zafira B with the 1.7 CDTI engine and it won't die. Over 300k miles on it and it just keeps on keeping on.

The moment I saw the car, I knew the previous owners were hiding something. Just the scratches on the rear bumper would be enough for me to walk away. Honest people would mention it in the ad. If they don't mention the small stuff, rest assured they won't tell you the bigger problems.

Rory got himself a really nice car. It's an opel in the end. Put handful of dirt into engine and it will still run. That car was abused till he bought it and it still runs and pulls. Quick fix and it will be amazing little hot hatch.
