I just bought a set of belts from Anson a few weeks ago after seeing one of your videos. I thought to myself: those could be my first step towards a modular wardrobe, so I opted for the dressier ones. I'm very pleased with their quality and rather dissatisfied with the experience of shopping from the EU. While they arrived in under a week, shipping cost more than a belt and buckle, plus additional import fees. And now I am told I shouldn't also wear them in my more casual outfits is a bummer... A fair while ago I told you that I was dressing like a SWAT Team member as it made me feel good, you were very complimentary but thinking back I felt that it probably wasn't a good look, so... I would say that for an inexpensive belt Choice the box style buckle can serve both as an more formal and a more casual choice I mean most militaries use them both for the dress uniform and their cammo, often the same belt
I’ve already experienced this, as it happens: a couple of years ago, I got gifted a pair of my favorite casual/work boots (Timberland any. Maddsen) in a hard-to-match color, and the only belt that I could find like it was not only two narrow, according to what you’ve told us here, but it was also too long. If I’d watched this video first, I probably would’ve just gotten a nylon work belt that matched the laces, or use some similar strategy.
I find it easier to get new pants once you need a belt, but I did order medieval style dark red belt. Planning to use it around my waist like vikings did and not the forced low line that modern pants end at.
You mentioned buckles slightly near the end however I feel there is more that can be covered about buckles. Such as, in the beginning of the video you mentions "don'ts" for the belt. Are there any such rules for the buckle?
11:10 On the note of cutting a belt, it depends a bit on what kind of belt you have, but it can be really simple. If you have a frame buckle you should probably have a professional do it for you because you'd have to cut the visible end and so if it's done amateurly it'll look sloppy. With a box frame, though, you'll be able to remove the buckle from the belt, meaning you'll be able to then cut the part of the belt that connects to the buckle, which no one is going to see. With this kind of belt you can just cut it on your own really easily, I cut a leather one with literally just the scissors I used in elementary school, took a bit of force, but it was really easy. The result looked very sloppy, but it doesn't matter, because no one's going to see it
Plate buckles are the highest dress level when it comes to highland wear, and the belts are 2.5-3" wide... But highland wear breaks a lot of the typical rules.

I do really like my Anson belts and love the ratcheting system. But I'm really disappointed with the "gold" finish in the buckles. The finish wears very quickly and looks awful.
this is stuff only women care about. I don't have time to worry about mundane stupid stuff like matching a belt to shoes. Men who care about this have too much time on their hands and I guarantee have never turned a wrench in their life!

And I love the mix and match. Bought these a while back based upon the channel’s recommendation and discarded all my other belts.
Typically, I find that if you purchase a belt and or shoes from the same brand you will find a matching shade and vice versa.
It is a problem that shoe, watch and belt leathers are not the same type and it follows that the dye process will not lead to the same shade.

You need 1.25 inch belts only. When dressed casually the belt is not exposed so however wide it can be.
I can only afford one belt. I got a brown leather belt.
In my country you can find a military style fabric belt for about 3€ and you can probably find it in many colors
