great job, very through and I envy your patience. wish you had an assistant to handle camera, however a great job covering every detail without the annoying music.
Great video John. Thank you. I was curious if you have any tips on how to install the glass for the rear sliding doors? I have everything prepped. i just can’t physical get the window to fit and must be missing something. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
That's a tough one. I did eventually replace the door lock actuator motor (the motor that pulls the opener handle automatically) on the left side slider ... it was a real pain to get to the bolt that held the motor ... and I didn't really pay attention to the glass mounting to see how you might remove it. Usually with the windows that have an angled front edge you would tilt the window forward to get it out of the side run channels, then you could pull it out of the door opening. There's got to be a video on this somewhere ...
Hi there! I’m following your super helpful tips to replace my window run channel. I seem to be getting stuck by what should be super simple. I can’t manage to slide the window out of the door (the bolts at the bottom are out). There’s not enough room to maneuver one of the bottom corners out. Do I have to remove the inner door panel too?! (Mine is a 2014 Sienna)
On the Gen 2, since the front of the glass is angled, if you tilt the front down and rotate the window it pulls out of the side channels and then you can lift it out. I just looked the photos for the two model years ... the front part of the window glass that is vertical is taller on the 2014 than the 2005. I think I had the glass lowered down enough that the front end was below the door sill. You may have to do the same.
I think it is generally the same for any car ... but the devil is in the details ;). I suggest look for a video on how to remove the door panel first, then once that is off you can hopefully figure out how to remove the glass. Then it's just a matter of seeing how the run channel is pressed into its housing. Purchasing the replacement in advance would probably help as well so you can see if there is any adjhesive on it.
Thank you very much for your video's. I have a question that I have 2002 Toyota cienna & it's front passenger side window is broken. I din't find perfect glass. can I replace it with 2005 window glass.
I think they are different generations of Sienna ... looking at toyotaadm.com ... for 2005 the right front door glass part number is 68101-AE010 ... and for the 2002 it is 68101-08030-83 ... and the diagrams look quite a bit different.
The yellow tool is called a "Trim Tool", like this: www.amazon.com/KINGLAKE-Panel-Removal-Radio-Installer/dp/B00HNMLQAG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1548220706&sr=8-5&keywords=trim+tool
The drivers side should be about the same, except the switch plugs on the armrest may be a bit different. I suggest you find a parts diagram for the doors online and compare driver and passenger doors to look for any other differences. I don't remember any other differences though ...
Yeah, it's not that great. But my focus wasn't on the video, I just wanted to show people something I couldn't find online and had to figure out for myself :)

It was a great video! Thank you! Off to do mine now
Will this process work with any Toyota door? I need to do this to my 2010 FJ Cruiser, driver side

Hi , What was the problem you were having that made you replace those window channels?
Hi -- due to the rubber hardening, the windows were starting to stick closed, so I would get a "thunk" when I opened them.
What do you call that yellow tool. You are using?
Thanks
usually some form of trim/panel pry/removal tool ... use those keywords and you should find plenty of options anywhere.
