Undertaker went from Superstar to Legend status in the 2000s - it's phenomenal how he was prominent in so many eras and as result is known and beloved by numerous different generations.
Really he has been part of every single wrestling era. My all time favorite and his dedication and loyalty to the business is absolute best. Literally all the top superstars left wrestling to earn more money else where but he always remained there
This list really makes you see the 2000s were stacked with talent. There are so many names I was surprised wasn’t on the list, but, at the same time, I can’t find a name to take off the list, either. They all deserve to be on here. Some names I can see being in the list,too: Rey, HBK, Kane, RVD, Trish (for the female wrestlers)
Every decade has an incredible roster of stars, WWE TV isn't quite as good as it was back in the day not because of the talent, it's just that the business has shifted gears so much in order to survive, that it's drastically different from what most of us grew up and love. Gone are the days where shows were more so improved than the are scripted. Gone are the days of the bloody, brutal and graphic matches (but lets be fair here. This is for the wrestlers own protection too. Just be happy you were alive to see it when it was live and the norm, but even I have to agree, this had to go.) Besides, even if WWE tried that same formula today, it wouldn't work nearly as well. This is the decade where everyone knows that practically everything is a work. --WWE knows we know. So they have to play towards that. If they didn't it would just legit make them look stupid. --they don't look that great right now, and that's not an excuse either of course. But the 90's, and 2000s was great Pro Wrestling Entertainment. Now, the show legit just feel like its for young kids. And that's fine too.
For real, Rey Mysterio not being on the list is disgraceful! He was one of the trailblazers for cruiserweight wrestling in WWE and had compelling matches with bigger guys like Kurt Angle, Edge, Undertaker ect.
Rey was the whole reason I got into WWE in the first place. I didn't get into WWE cause people were telling me Eddie or Benoit were making the world light on fire or that Cena and Batista were badasses. It was because Rey Mysterio was the most fun and most heartwarming superstar I've ever seen in my life of the little guy overcoming all odds in a big man's world. The Royal Rumble and WM22 win are still my personal favourite moments in all WWE.
It's just really a damn shame he couldn't reach the same heights as say The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin, due to his personal demons holding him from doing so. Had it not been for that, I think he would've been the face of the company, & not John Cena.

HBK's run during this time is probably the most iconic and barring Eddie, had amazing matches with everyone else in the list. Not having him on the list is a travesty.

Na. I love rey but eddie played a much bigger role in the company during the 2000s. You could even make an argument that rey only really got pushed because eddie died.
I don't think any decade was consistently good, like especially the 1990s wasn't very good for years before '97 came around and sorta turned that around. But the 2000s for me was probably WWE's best decade in terms of putting on an actual good wrestling product. And if RAW wasn't good at the moment, chances are SmackDown was.

It had some great stuff but a lot of really shitty angles and gimmicks, and Owen's death which remains the most reckless and terrible thing to ever happen in that ring. 2009's second half wasn't good for RAW, but the first half was solid, and SmackDown was good during that year. 2008 for me was actually one of the better years WWE has ever had, I'd list why but this comment would be way too long to read.
@Chuck Buskee The WWE/WWF around 1998-2002 appealed to the lowest common denominator and, as a result, got a ton of fans. It was a fad. I know, I was very young but I lived it. As a turn your brain off entertainment thing it was amazing. As an actual wrestling product? Ruthless Aggression was the peak. It wasn't excess like that earlier period was and you had a better chance of getting something like HBK Vs Shelton on a typical RAW than those 3 minute Russo things they called matches.

Crazy how John Cena and Batista were the faces of the Ruthless Aggression era and are now big hollywood stars. Vince was right to push them to the moon.
I grew up in this decade but I hadn't really watched WWE at the this time period unfortunately (I started watching in the PG Era) but the superstars of the 2000s were recognizable to me.
It's crazy, most wrestlers lose their quality as they got older but once Undertaker was put in a more common main event position and allowed to wrestle at his best, he put on multiple classics in his 40s. With John Cena in the spotlight, Taker was the darkness surrounding it as I believe they were both the biggest draws for wrestling during this time.
Shawn Michaels career/personal renaissance should put him in the top 10, also Trish Stratus and Rey Mysterio should arguably be on here as well. I'm not sure Jeff Hardy is Top 10 though, he did some good, but he had some major gaps in those 10 years of personal issues or being injured/underutilized.
Although Eddie is second generation, because of how young he was compared to his generation of siblings it could definitely be argued that his in ring knowledge and generalship got the head start bonus of a third generational.
Honorable (or dishonorable, depending on the pov) mention: Chris Benoit. I know...I KNOW...His last days scar up his career, but NO ONE can deny his talent and the high quality matches he had with Everyone on this list.

I came back to wrestling in 2005, right around the time of the Royal Rumble and the lead up to Wrestlemania 21. I know I missed the best of The Attitude Era and early stages of Ruthless Aggression Era, but damn if I don't look back on that time with some incredibly fond memories.

Angle left, Jericho left for 2 years, Eddie died halfway through the year, Jeff Hardy didn't even wrestle in the company for 3 years. But nah Rey doesn't even get a mention. That's just wrong man. And even HBK like some other comments too.

I agree with the list, but they should’ve added Kane because he had a great run in the 2000s. He became a 2 time intercontinental champion, he won both ECW & world heavyweight champion, and numerous tag title wins. Including having the most rumble eliminations at the time. THANK YOU KANE!!!!

It's crazy, most wrestlers lose their quality as they got older but once Undertaker was put in a more common main event position and allowed to wrestle at his best, he put on multiple classics in his 40s. With John Cena in the spotlight, Taker was the darkness surrounding it as I believe they were both the biggest draws for wrestling during this time.
Shawn Michaels career/personal renaissance should put him in the top 10, also Trish Stratus and Rey Mysterio should arguably be on here as well. I'm not sure Jeff Hardy is Top 10 though, he did some good, but he had some major gaps in those 10 years of personal issues or being injured/underutilized.

Although Eddie is second generation, because of how young he was compared to his generation of siblings it could definitely be argued that his in ring knowledge and generalship got the head start bonus of a third generational.
Especially when he was so close in age to Chavo Jr. He was technically Chavo's uncle but their relatiosnship was more like brothers.

I agree with the list, but they should’ve added Kane because he had a great run in the 2000s. He became a 2 time intercontinental champion, he won both ECW & world heavyweight champion, and numerous tag title wins. Including having the most rumble eliminations at the time.
