    What amazes me is how responsive Paul is to suggestions. He added several features after I only suggested once! I asked about the multi stage phaser a while ago and he said he will eventually add it in!

      Yeah, I think I suggested the EQ thing while he was finishing up the latest build and it only took him a few days to add it in.

    It’s one of the best software synths. It makes modular much easier, has deep features, and the quality of everything is superb.

    Great overview. This really is an awesome synth! Paul is super responsive but also seems to love making cool sounds, so the videos on his channel show the kinds of sounds that are possible with this beast! 👏

    An excellent overview of a versatile modular synth...

    Fascinating. I don't know where you find this time to dive so deep into these things but it is appreciated and admirable. The sounds that you generated need to find a film.

      Thanks Randall. Hope you are doing well. This one took a while. I’ve been working on it for about a month. Next time you see Spielberg, let him know I’m available. ;)

    1:49 is a pretty huge complement to @stateazure when TG comes after the slash 🤣 An amazing artist for sure.

      Great compliment for Hyperion too! 🙂 Love State Azure.. his Tangerine Dream style livestreams inspired me to make a recent generative patch (my latest video upload).

    Another excellent vid. Always loved Hyperion’s sonics but didn’t like the modular cabling look. Jumped in again when the simpler Theia version was added.

    Overall in my opinion it is one of greatest plugin if you need some inspiration how to start it literally inspires a lot when you're lacking with ideas facing mental blocks

    Ah yes. Looking at new fascinating highly customisable synths scares me because I know that using them will lead to endless hours [days/weeks] of lost time.
    The Korg Wavestation (which I still have) probably owes me several years of time back... buuuuut I wouldn't change that ;)
    Good video - I'm inspired.

      Thanks. Yeah, my Korg Triton has taken several years off of my life as well. I wouldn't be the piano player I am today without it though.

    1. Does it have midi note on delay/offset?...very useful for complex patches/wave sequences
    2. Can you turn off returning play-head to sample start upon note on/note off?....so you for example could play an uninterrupted phrase as a melody/chords...through a vocal phrase for example without changing the temporal order of the audio in the phrase sample

    • @arcticfoxstudios2018
      @arcticfoxstudios2018  Місяць тому +2

      For the first one, I think you can use some of the math modules to provide a delay between key press and note. I have not tried that yet though so don't know for sure. For the second one, I don't think you can, but again, not 100% sure. The developer has a discord channel if you are on discord and he would be able to answer those questions better than I could.

    • @wavesequencer
      @wavesequencer Місяць тому +1

      Think I answered this question in another video comment, but all the envelopes have a delay parameter and a 'invert trigger' option so you can delay and also trigger things on note release. Secondly the sample playback nodes can play sound in a loop without re-triggering, whilst still able to be re-pitched by incoming notes. The sample playback node also has a latch option for continuous looping regardless of any trigger - which is really handy for background ambiences - especially in generative patches.

    Hyperion makes some great sounds but you have to put the work in to it togetyour own sound design/presets.
    Mine kinda waits for me to put the time in ... 🙄

    Out of curiosity, have you used The Grid in Bitwig Studio? If so, thoughts? It's similar to Hyperion in some ways, though Hyperion does have the advantage of being a standalone VST while The Grid is integrated into the Bitwig DAW.

    • @arcticfoxstudios2018
      @arcticfoxstudios2018  9 місяців тому +4

      I’ve used Bitwig a little and have messed with the grid, but have not really dove deep into it. I think both are similar and they both have things that the other can’t do. One thing I do like about Hyperion is the sound though. It can sound pretty darn close to analog if you get it set up right.

    • @arcticfoxstudios2018

      True, but I would rather have it sound good first and look good second.
