Thanks for the video. I got my solo for Christmas. Just put the mat on today. Your video was the inspiration. Thanks again this saved me a bunch of money and it turned out pretty good.
Nice looking carpet! Proper cleaning and rolling of air bubbles is key to good adhesion. I would suggest cleaning using the wet dry method. Use a clean lint free cotton cloth to remove the plastic mold release agents and other dirt. Wipe with ISO wetted cloth and closely followed by a clean dry cloth to lift the solvent before it dries and the contaminates resettle on the surface. Preferably simultaneously. Do this a number of times. Use the water break test to verify clean. Water should sheet instead of beading. Roll the carpet down from the center out and towards the direction of lay as you lower the carpet. A two inch rubber sealant roller would be perfect.
Congrats on the EVA and thanks for sharing. Kagen would you consider doing a follow up review on the adhesiveness of the EVA. I hoping it really sets well. Tight Lines and Full Limits to Ya.!
Can you still Turn with that motor (while running) with it in "Shallow water mode"??? I cannot find the answer anywhere and keep trying to find someone doing it. Thanks!
You have a GPS on your phone? Do us a favor, and make a full throttle speed run, we want to see what that classic old Johnson 2 stroke will do top speed. I've been pimpin' out my Solo Skiff the last month and a half between classes, mid-terms, and just waiting for my motor to arrive from 2 different vendors (first one a crook but I got my money back). I'm keepin mine simple too trnsferring allot of hardware from my old kayak and canoe. I want clear gunwales since I dive so I need clean entry/exit points. I used a rubber floor mat for my cockpit non-skid, $25.00 including shipping.
Looks awesome. I've been on the fence on getting one. I mainly do kayak fishing but would like something to get around the flats quickly. Wonder if it would hold me and my 8yr son??? New sub btw!
It will hold you and your son for sure. My wife and I have actually got on it together and taken rides. Both of you probably wouldn’t be able to stand but as long as one sits it shouldn’t be a prob. Thanks for the sub!
Love your channel brother, I'm in the Houston area and about to pick up a Solo Skiff as well. What trailer do you have paired with your Solo Skiff? Looks like it fits in your garage? 🤙🏼
Tony H it does fit in garage, it’s a McLain trailer used it for an aluminum boat back in the day. Awesome to hear another person getting a solo skiff! Thanks for watching!
Tony D I have and I ran the transducer out the back of the seat and down the side to the back grab rail. I plan I doing a solo skiff rigging update in the next day or 2
Thanks so much I’ve look at possibly an h-rail adapter on the grab bar with a ram ball mount or glueing a mount at the water line on the back. Thanks again for your channel. Tight lines.
Ted Cruz I used very short screws so that it wouldn’t go all the way through the plastic but still anchor it down. I forgot what size they are but there is never real stress put on the screws it just keeps the tank from bouncing off. Also having the pad under tank keep it from sliding.
skittles26886 it’s holding up great still looks new and I have caked marsh mud and shell all on it and fished the rest of day. A little quick power wash and all clean again. I absolutely would buy again if this ever wears out.

Sigh.. im not artsy.......... and then proceeds making very basic shapes out of cardboard to then only use it to mark the 4 corners LOL. Wouldnt it be so much simpler to measure the sides of the shapes? No art required ;-)
Awesome! Keep those Solo Skiff videos coming!🎣😃
NIce touch, looks great! Love your channel for making adventure fishing accessible to the masses. Respect!

Have you added a fish finder yet? If so, how did you handle the transducer mounting?

Hey nice Video! How much coast a solo Skiff ? Is it availible in Germany ? Greetz
Houari Soler USD 1850$. I don’t think they are available over seas. The company is based out of Florida. Thanks for watching from Germany
Did u drill right through the pad for the gas tank brackets?did u use any type of sealer around the screws?
Ted Cruz I used very short screws so that it wouldn’t go all the way through the plastic but still anchor it down. I forgot what size they are but there is never real stress put on the screws it just keeps the tank from bouncing off. Also having the pad under tank keep it from sliding.
Update on how it's holding up??? would u buy it again????

Question? this SS rated for 5hp. How do you get it register for 6hp engine?
Texas master baiter I believe solo skiff has changed their rating to 6hp
Nice job use the whole sheet if you have some leftover use it,throwing it away or storing it until its ruined is tossing away hard earned money
What was the price on that bad boy and where from?

Is it ok after you install it? Is it durable or got unstuck?
It’s sticking great! It’s all about the prep though. Power wash then alcohol scrub let dry 100% then apply on a non humid day
Kagen Fishing thank you men! And what is the thickness? 6mm or 5mm ? Do you think there is an obvious difference?
Where did you get that foam from?
khaihuynh11 amazon. I have it linked to the exact one I got in the description below. Named EVA Foam.
