What is the motor shaft that you bought…short or long shaft? I’m considering getting a solo skiff now that Amazon is selling it online, but I don’t know what motor shaft is best
Thank you for your honest review! I currently have all the accessories ready for my new skiff, which I ordered in August 2020, still waiting on the boat... perhaps soon. Your videos are awesome, I need to learn how to fly fish in the salt like you... Seems absolutely awesome!
No problem man. You will love it. Hopefully they start production and you can get your solo! Just gotta figure out how use it the best for the area you fish. Glad you like the videos!
@@TheFishAndTrips lol nah. I started with a $300 kayak that was good. Got the job done. Nothing fancy though. Couldn’t stand on it and when the wind picked up it was a pain lol. But on those calmer days the thing was awesome.
good video.. i got into solo skiff last year..6hp 2stroke hangkai 899.99 from amazon end up selling it off.. bought a used boston whaler to replace it .. but i also recently bought a johnny bass 100.. still doing all the upgrades myself lights, ff, rod holders, etc..
Awesome, planning to get skiff in spring but not many places to buy on the northern East coast. Facebook prices are ridiculous and I just want to buy skiff and motor and accessorize it as I go. Im thinking do I nee 6hp motor or 4hp would be enough, Im a light guy 160lbs and I dont really need to fly LOL. So as long as I can beat 15 knots of wind and chop I would be ok.
Very cool. I've always been drawn to the SOLO, my only drawback is not being able to get my kids on it with me. Rigging a small skiff or kayak aint cheap!
Just want to point out that Old Town Sportsman Autopilot 136 $3,999.99. Can't run 10 miles in 40 minutes with a trolling motor. Solo is still a great package.
Doesn't seem like that bad of a deal when you compare it to the cost of a skiff on a trailer ,, motor and all the other cost involved in getting a boat ,, I don't know your area ,, but watching your video's ,, you seem to have access to some really prime areas with awesome fishing that you can get to with the Solo skiff ,, are those areas good all year where you can use the Solo skiff all year ,, if the answer is yes ,, it really is a awesome deal for what you are getting out of it ,, I just bought a G3 17' boat with a 50hp ,, trolling motor a depth finder a few other options ,, I am all in on it for $21,000 so 5 grand on the Solo skiff ,, great deal ,,
Yeah it opens up a ton of water for me! Also the fact I can launch it almost anywhere is a plus! For the value I feel like its a great skiff. A lot of people compare it to a kayak also and most peddle drive kayaks now a days are almost in the same price range.
Nice video very good useful information ,thank you
Love your channel bro !!
Thanks bro! Appreciate the support! Next video is an absolute banger!

@@StixHD ok thanks for getting back to me

Gotdamn. Yeeeeah imma just keep saving for a kayak and sit my ass down somewhere and be merry.
Honestly a good quality peddle drive kayak with accessories starts around $3500. Some are even more than that.
@@StixHD so you're really just on a mission to crush all my dreams this fine day I aren't you. 😔

Cool thanks
This is a good representation of what to expect financially if one were thinking of getting one of these decked out. Nice job bud
Thanks man. That's what I was going for lol

Thanks for watching! What made you sell the solo skiff if you don't mind me asking. How are you liking that Johnny bass 100?
I think if I wasn’t so tight on budget I’d take a whaler any day over a soloskiff
Can get a job boat for cheaper

Yeah for sure that is one of the major drawbacks with the skiff. And I know anything with kayak or Hobie in front increases the price by like 300% lol
Damn that Suzuki is expensive. I got my 6hp Tohatsu for $500.

Yeah definitely not lol. Plus if you want a good battery I think that’s an extra grand lol. Solo skiff is great for its value and price point.
