    It may not have been the best fishing day but....I'm sure it still was fun.

    Good fishing over here on the Sabine. Where is your buddy justin from? He looks real familiar. Nederland/Port Neches area?

    Man, I like that little skiff. The problem is, I would need 2 of them because my wife likes to fish probably more than I do. I want to fish the marsh in skinny water though. Looking at a Mako 15 skiff for us.

      Jarrod Samford ahh yah I understand the dilemma. But if my wife wanted to start coming fishing with me I would just get one for her so we could go together. It’s an awesome platform.

      You should look at the NuCanoe. Can add extra seats in there for when she tags along to show you up

    How well does the Solo track when paddling? Looked like it wanted to slide around, but that could have just been the wind.

      @KagenFishing  5 років тому

      Kurt W the wind was kicking me around. It tracks very good! The sharp v nose keeps it going where you want it.

    Who's quicker (off the line), and faster (top speed), you with your 2-stroke Johnson or your buddy and his 4-stroke Tohatsu?

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  5 років тому

      Ji F. The 4 stroke Tohatsu beats it in both. I do have an older worn prop on it and the carb started to get finicky but still think the Tohatsu would win.

    Where in your opinion is the best place to kayak fish for reds/trout/founder in galvy? I tried out east bay near crystal beach and only caught black drum. Wanna go out again next weekend but with more luck

      Well that is the tough part of fishing the fish aren’t always in the same place and even a great spot can turn out to be dead sometimes. Also what you are using as bait has a great impact on the species of fish you are catching. You have a better chance at catching Reds trout and flounder with bait that is alive or an artificial that seems alive. But a great place to fish when the surf is calm is Galveston fishing pier and Texas city dike is an easily accessible public place to fish if you don’t have a boat or kayak.

    Why wouldn’t they of made all that from where you sit forward be actual deck space with none slip grip. An what about a trolling setup on the front the front is so pointed seems like it would be hard to have a trolling setup on the front.

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  4 роки тому

      Chasin’ the Wind I really like that there is a hatch with a through plug to throw my fish in/other gear in the front, no need to have to load a cooler. Also no need for trolling motor when you can paddle and if it’s to far to paddle just start the motor. The pointed nose does an amazing job of cutting through good size chop and throwing it to the side keeping me dry and the ride smoother, also helps with tracking while paddling. It would be nice to have the front wider but I would take the sharp nose to cut chop and paddle better over a wider front any day.

    What baitcasting rod and reel are you using?

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  5 років тому

      Ryan Hicks I use a 13 fishing concept A on a Waterloo phantom 6’6 medium fast. I also use a Lews team lite on a 7ft Waterloo phantom medium moderate.

    If you wanna keep a fish - which is absolutely fine- just respect the creature and kill it before you put it on ice/ store it please. Besides that a great video and fun to watch
