Me and my beau was out scrapping and someone tossed out a perfectly good 6ft cast net and a 2 daiwa tld bait cast reels on star rods .1 rod was missing it tip. We went to west marine git replacement tip. We use them party boat fishing .
I'd definitely try a rehydrator for those stiff baits. Hit up a smoke shop and look for them. They're pretty cheap. If not, fresh orange rinds should work too.
Full respect! One of the only fishing channels who still is all about fishing. No farm, no side by sides, no house boats, no six months brake, no hunting, no BS.
That tackle box is the exact same as my grandads, he passed away around 10+ years ago. I never got to fish with him, but he was a phenomenal fisherman, catching consecutive 10+ pound bass, I miss him. Dont forget to spend time with the ones you love while theyre still around.
You can renew that gulp and the fish bites. Just put those gulps in with the Google jar if shrimp and with fish bites just soak them in olive oil put them in zip lock baggy add a 1/2 cup olive oil and add some crab or shrimp scent to it. It be like new.
"Guess I reverse haggled myself." You're a good guy, Mike. Your soul hurt at the thought of a fisher selling their stuff, so you instinctively gave him a bit more to make it a little less painful.
Gotta give props where credit is due, I've been watching since the time when he would get millions of views and now not as much but that's how you know people like us still care Thanks FirstStateFishing
Bro that is a freaking steal! That box is like $80. I have a similar one and all the tackle and lures add up quick. And Gamakatsu hooks are my favorite. I usually stalk upon all my terminal tackle every spring, and I spend a couple hundred dollars on Gamakatsu hooks alone 😬. Owner hooks are also great.
Hey just a tip but when you are throwing the cast net for shrimp let it hit the bottom completely and twitch it and pull it slowly till it’s closed and then pull it the rest of the way in! The weight twitching will get them up out of the mud! Happy fishing!
Plenty of great uses for rubber bands. They can be great for everything from securing baits that might be prone to slipping off the hook to keeping hooks and rigs bundled. Rubber bands are a staple in my boxes.
Back in the day, before garage sales, folks would do spring cleaning and they would have a huge Garbage pile in their front yard. Furniture, fishing poles, tackle boxes, clothes and stuff and more stuff. Imagine an estate sale in the front yard and everything is Free.. Old Old South Miami was a treasure to grow up in. I guess sometime in the 70's they built the Dump off Old Cutler and the county encouraged folks to take it to the Kings Bay Dump. Great for us young folks, All the trash piles were brought to Kings Bay Dump and it was a fight for the good stuff.
Just some tips the pompano actually bite better in colder water temps not to cold but not hot and they prefer cleaner water over murky water definitely a weird fish but super rewarding when you catch them
With the surf sand sinker you might try the double drop set up. It allows for 2 baits. Sold as heavy mono leader or steel leader for sharks. Adv is if you know you missed a fish? Just leave it out there. Let greed do the trick bait #2. Adv 2 twice as much scent attraction esp sharks with bloody mullets.
Nice find. The newer version of that tackle box is $70 at Cabela's. Add all the items you got with it and it's easily over $100 value, probably closer to $200+.
Texas we use bucktail jig and tip it with shrimp. Bet that pompano jig/rig works even better too shrimp tipped? May need bait line to strap it on if the hook doesn't have bait holder barbs on the shank for tipping it
Hey First State! My son and I actually saw you biking by on Monday(first beach in the video). We had a tough time there too(only a Whiting and a Catfish). Awesome to see you cruising by though
finaly i was having the most boring day then decided to open youtube and bang , all i seen was a banger video from firststatefishing, you made my day man keep up the fire content love you man🔥
btw....if you fish the Navarre pier at night, you had better take your own illumination. There are no lights on the pier other than the 1/10 watt orange glow bulbs on the railings. Found that out the hard way.
How well does that bike do in the deep sugar sand? been looking to get an e bike for the beach myself but our beaches are mostly soft sand here in SWFL
Definitely a bit sketchy on deeper softer sand , I’m sure if I aired down the tires it’d do better! I may have took a spill the other day after skidding and losing traction on softer sand 😅😂
Pop some PVC pipes on the sides and you have yourself a nice box for the kayak! :) Get a set of wheels and you can probs haul it to the pier too. Not a bad find at all :D
Great upload, just little advice when u surf cast try to walk in at least knee depth and try pendulum swing cast will increase distance an fish size thanks for ur uploads again u cool guy
I’m not sure if you clipped the video or not, but when you threw the cast net it seemed as if you brought it in really fast, in my opinion letting the net stay at the bottom for a few seconds allows fish or shrimp to panic a little which gets them stuck in the side of the net so they don’t fall out.
Check out estate sales! My dad bought eight tackle boxes full of goods for a hundred bucks. I got my rod and crab traps for 20 bucks from an estate sale, lots of good finds.
You should mob out to cali and get on some thresher sharks, sevengill, leopard sharks, literally anything! Go tuna fish on a charter, come back and fish the harbor after and catch some spotted bay bass or sand bass or halibut! Would be awesome for content, so many different species. You do have to work for fish a little more, not as wide open as florida, but it’s def worth it.
They have to be 12 in here in north FL and there’s also a limit on how many you can keep as well! When I was growing up in DE I don’t think there was a limit
I'm old enough to remember when sinkers were dirt, dirt, dirt cheap. Oh, and I am LMAO at your cast net. I do believe that is the smallest diameter cast net....ever.
@@FirstStateFishing Sadly, no. In fact, it's the opposite. The bigger diameter, the more difficult they are to throw. I can kinda, sorta get a 5 footer to go where I want when I throw it, and to spread somewhat reliably. But the 7 footer I bought last month defies me.
Dude you stole that box. The box itself is worth at least 35. All the tackle in it is probably about 100. Good find and good video. Keep the vids coming. Would like to see a catch and cook on the blues.
Just wanted share one I was at a beach in California I wanna say bodega bay I don’t remember what time of year but there was millions of sand fleas I’m talking you go out the shore and see a bunch of those whole put your hand like 5 inches deep in the sand and literally get a whole handful it was so fun tried some for bait but didn’t get anything only tried for white perch
Or when you see large colony in the surf you can just grab them by your hand you really don't need any special tools just when you see them just grab them I used to do it all the time in California Newport Beach
A japanese bfs full set up rod reel and braid and loads of expensive lures the combo would of been 150 pound allowed i payed 110 for the lot also a comp tuned abu garcia multiplier the og swedish made onesworth like 300 pound only used once for 75 pound boxed
Can someone give me tips for pompano? I can never catch one. I use fresh sand fleas and a 10 foot rod to cast far. I also have fish gum. I live far away from the beach and only go once a year, so any tips would help.
What's your best fishing find?? Any good deals 🤔🎣
Me and my beau was out scrapping and someone tossed out a perfectly good 6ft cast net and a 2 daiwa tld bait cast reels on star rods .1 rod was missing it tip. We went to west marine git replacement tip. We use them party boat fishing .
I found a fish in a river for free
$20 for 4ft net 7ft ugly stick
I'd definitely try a rehydrator for those stiff baits. Hit up a smoke shop and look for them. They're pretty cheap. If not, fresh orange rinds should work too.
Bought an 8 dollar pole and brought in a nice catfish with it! It’s a good rod
Full respect! One of the only fishing channels who still is all about fishing. No farm, no side by sides, no house boats, no six months brake, no hunting, no BS.
Taking shots at norm lmao
Remind me of when I was a kid just learning how to fish this makes you feel good about fishing again the adventure the learning the friendships
@@Jeffrobro theres a couple of channels that fit this 😂😂
he's not the "only one" there's a bunch that just do strictly fishing.
Telling me you don’t like flair
Take the dried out gulps and throw them in the container of gulp juice they’ll be brand new I do it all the time such a money saver
Was gonna say the same thing
Great tip bro. Thanks for sharing!

Trying my best. Sorry for your loss, sounded like a great guy.
first state is the type of guy to reverse haggle himself 😂😂

I’m so glad you’ve got your mobility back. Been there. I super love what you do. Thank you. Good job.
Who never misses a upload from first state
👇🏽
Great find! You should put some rod holders on the bike, with removable clamps! So, you do not have to hold them.
I should definitely do that!
"Guess I reverse haggled myself." You're a good guy, Mike. Your soul hurt at the thought of a fisher selling their stuff, so you instinctively gave him a bit more to make it a little less painful.
45$ for that tackle box is a steal plus more.without that price she is probably worth 75-100$ possibly.
Bro way more almost 200 to 250
The box it self is 70 dollars
Gotta give props where credit is due, I've been watching since the time when he would get millions of views and now not as much but that's how you know people like us still care

watch all of the flea market ones.

Don’t forget that the jax pier has a tackle store in at the start and they sell shrimp.
Pro tip. Sand fleas also make great tarpon bait. Especially when they start hanging around on the shallows.
Dude, great find. That box alone is worth $45. I like the trays. You definitely scored.
This video just got me back into the channel, and I love it just as much as when you started the dollar challenges!!

Those Mr wiffle Lures are one of the best soft plastics I've ever used and you've the best color
Heck yea 50 bucks was still a win!! Thanks for sharing bro!!🎣👊💯💯
This man has never successfully haggled in his life. I’m getting flashbacks to the flea market/yard sale videos.
Why am I like this 🙁 haha

You have Penn reels. You can get a beach cart. Make sure you pull the fish bites past the barb. Great channel
Love this type of videos! There are some absolute steals out there on the used market. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Germany✌🏽

Great find the tackle box alone without tackle is worth that price !! The rest is just static butter😂
back at it with another banger
ayy 🔥🔥

HI ive been subscribed for forever and I'm looking to start salt water fishing. can u give some tips for newcomers??
That box was a absolute steal
The good things about GULP baits are if they are all dried up, you can recharge them in Gulp juice, and they are as good as new.
You should make some vids in Delaware this summer at the pier
For sure can’t wait to get back!
That was a great deal dude! Love these videos!
Love your fishing vids man!! Gotta grease that bike chain man saltwater ain't no joke.
Nice another OG FirstStateFishing content
You should customize the tackle box with the stuff you use.

Im in northeast massachusetts and im itching to get fishing lol. Are there any tips for when to start casting for striper?
6:42 👋 "howdy" 🤠
That's a nice tackle box !
Amazing video bro
Please utilize the other items in the box in future videos and explore new potentials
Love your unique content
My uncle found a penn squidder baitcaster on a pier here in Mississippi. It goes for 150 to 250 dollars on eBay.
Probably a couple hundred dollars new, that’s an awesome deal.
lol that was a steal of a deal!
Throw all those hard gulp plastic baits in those containers with the liquid. They will come back to life!
nice find, i recently got a box with 7 ryuki spearhead jekbaits for 25$ they cost around 20$ each new here, gotta keep a look out for deals
Nice!
hi i just wanted to tell you how much i love your video
Love the time lapse
Love your videos
1:33 did he compare a tackle box to an onion 😂😂
It’s like u read my mind I was searching for Facebook fishing gear and was thinking it should be a fishing challenge
Those fish bites are fine and you'll love them you put them on with sand flea crab or shrimp to keep your bait on the hook better
I also commented this while watching the video so I didn't see you do exactly what I said lol
Pop some PVC pipes on the sides and you have yourself a nice box for the kayak! :) Get a set of wheels and you can probs haul it to the pier too. Not a bad find at all :D

Almost nice temp for pompano water for me 69 degrees is not only funny but optimal 😉😂
Some types of jigs gets soft again if you place them in food oil, some get worse but if they already are crap there's no cost.
im local in jax, you have to try ponte vedra beach
Everything in that box, including the box, is easily over $100. You got a good deal even if haggled up $5 😂

Definitely want to! Hopeful to get out there next year!
i have a similar box to this - they're not cheap so if you got all of that for $50 you did all right
Every bluefish is a keeper Lol
They have to be 12 in here in north FL and there’s also a limit on how many you can keep as well! When I was growing up in DE I don’t think there was a limit
You should try to catch an alligator gar
That would blow his mind lol

Oh, and I am LMAO at your cast net. I do believe that is the smallest diameter cast net....ever.

I would have used that silver perch as cut bait😂
Melt the bigger weights down and turn them into smaller ones that you can use.
Squirt some scented liquid in the bag of soft plastics and they'll be good to go in a couple days
NOTI GANG
lets goooo
pampano are bitting here in the skyway bridge and tampa bay
What weight line should I use for shore fishing like you?
And what length?
great deal
The big waits are for saltwater fishing
good deal

What rod and reels do you have?

Still tryna figure em out myself 🤷 haha
My best fishing find was 13 packs of Yum swim baits
I’m a fisherman and I have a problem of not getting sabiki rigs from getting tangled
