My wife and I turned 50 this year and we flew from Adelaide to Delhi to rent 2 Enfields and ride the Himalayas. We set off for 3 weeks in shorts and t-shirts and just bought what we needed on the way. No real plan. Everything worked out fantastically and it was certainly an adventure. Don't worry or over-think it, just do it.

As the other Indian rider said that it is a dream of every bike rider to visit Leh at least once in his life time. He was right. Long back when bare minimum facilities were not available I made it to Leh in Enfield 350 cc. My journey was started from Delhi via Jammu, Srinagar, Kargil route. That time Manali Leh track route was not known to many. I was totally dependent to village people for food and camping. That was year 1973 and I was just 23 years old!

This is how its supposed to be done yeah. Old school.
After getting bombarded with vlogs and smooth b-rolls from peter mckinon and probably a million people out there this kinda video is such a viewing pleasure.
No click bait, no drone footage, no slow mos but pure story telling the way its meant to be. I really appreciate this form of story telling.

This is definitely a unique experience! We did a similar tour from Delhi up to Kardung La in 1997 on 13 Royal Enfied Bullet 500 rented in Chandigarh, accompanied by a Jeep. The group were formed by 7 crazy boys and two girls from Munich (Germany), a couple from Vienna (Austria), an absolute crazy guy also from Austria and his girlfriend from Australia and finally one guide/friend, one mechanician and one Jeep driver from India. Unfortunately we were not allowed to go beyond Kardung La pass at this time, because of the tensions between India and Pakistan at that time. So we visited Dharamsala on the way back (unfortunately the Dalai Lama was not in town). Even this adventure has happened over 20 years ago, we still think of it. It is a life changing event!
Great video from your trip, brings back a lot of emotions! Thank you guys!

Loved it! Took me right back to India... My crossing of Khardung La was less sunny, covered in snow when I did it a couple of years ago. The tarmac wasnt as smooth either, India has done some serious road work since then. Sadly at a cost of underpaid labour... You did very nicely show both the amazing ánd the dark sides of India. It's a country with many faces, but if it grabs you it won't let go!

Meaca Road work in these regions is a constant activity. Most likely your visit could have been between May to August. By September - in portions - the snow eroded roads are usually mended, just in time for the snow and ice to do its work again.

Was watching the review of the new "2021 RE Interceptor 650" and slept while watching it, woke up in the morning with this video on my laptop screen at 9 minutes (Chandigarh) at first I thought let's close this but gave it a shot while making my breakfast. I watched the whole video and it was amazing to see the amount of detail and fun you guys had during the trip felt bad for that guy(one who got injured in the beginning). It is like a dream for every biker to go there once in a lifetime and I can't wait to witness the beauty of this journey.
Didn't know about the pulsar's toughness hats off.

I have seen hundreds of Leh Riding Videos and i must say this one is the best of all of them, this video has set such a standard across all of the content creators that i believe no one might be able to beat the quality and content this video has.
One more beautiful part was to see the whole journey from someone else's eyes someone who is not an Indian.
You are a legend. You've not just documented a great journey but you've made such a great epic film.
AMAZING ! just can't tell you how much the travel animal inside of me has awoken that too at 4:11 AM

Ah, India and Himalaya, that is great. But mind you, India is having a lack of hospitals for covid-19. Their "second wave" has surprised them. If you have any spare money, please donate to India.

Holy crap guys. Awesome video. Epic, once in a lifetime journey. There are very very few biking videos I will watch for over 20 minutes or so, but I had to see this one through to the end. That is what adventure biking is all about. Get away from the beaten path populated by tourists and see the true country and talk to the real people. Stunning views. Just wow. Too bad about Stephan. Keep it up and be safe.

Thought I could watch for a minute or two before going to bed, but I also ended up watching the whole adventure twice.
This is what reality is, this is what adventure motorcycling is..!
The PULSAR 220 did a great job in such terrains and I'm surprised.

Great video chaps. I've twice been through the area, but we were on Royal Enfield 500s and Himalayan's... perfect for the terrain. If you head East from Shimla and ride the Spiti, Lahaul, Kinnaur valley's to Rotang Pass, the effect of AMS (altitude sickness) is lessened as you climb in altitude much slower, mind you it is still there i.e. gradual increase in altitude is easier to acclimatize. India is wonderful and beautiful people you meet along the way. Roads are rough and awesome this direction too, lost of gravel roads mostly.
