I wanted to buy this dishwasher, so I looked around for reviews. After watching this video, I actually hate this dishwasher now and will never buy. Thanks for the video.
I have an earlier model of this that I got for free due to someone upgrading. You are correct, it has lots of issues. Ours is always warm inside and that makes any food left on anything start to stink. The length of time to wash is ridiculous. Stuff put in that skinny rack on the top does not get cleaned well. The light is annoying. It never dries well. The racks with all their whiz-bang features actually make it difficult to load. There are no grooves in the door for the rack wheels so if it is pulled out to far, it is a pain to get back in especially if loaded. I'm glad we got it for free, but would like our old GE back.
Thanks for the video. Also trying to find some reliable information/review on Thermador. We are about to upgrade everything to thermador (double oven, warming drawer, sapphire dishwasher, 36" professional rangetop and hood. Any thoughts on this products? Looks like you ditched the dishwasher?
Thermador is not a good company in my opinion. My double oven from Thermador required 4 service calls and at the end they said that the constant grinding noise is the way it was made to be. It shut off a couple of times during my wife baking and rebooted. The wifi capability of all Thermador product is not good. The app isn't developed yet. It keeps logging you out and shutting off. The options there aren't great. Not much you can do on it unless you select the oven to go to remote mode which still requires you to either plan ahead or get up and set the dial before going on your phone and selecting what you want. The dishwasher isn't worth it. It takes to long and doesn't clean any different from the other dishwashers. My sapphire dw was breaking apart from the inside so they took it back. All the other appliances are crap and they refuse to take it back. The gas top I have is working good but the star flame goes over all my pots and pans and burns the sides. The hood is good though and the blower. It extends out far, easy to clean, and lights up the range. Reliability, I'm worried that 20k later, my appliance are running out of their warranty in 2 months and I still have service repairs coming weekly. I'm going to be so screwed in a couple months but I had no idea how they were before purchasing.

I’m going to not buy any of their products after seeing this... since I’m on the edge. My parents have wolf/sub zero and they also replaced their range top and dishwasher after 7 years. These things should last a lot longer than that.
Always go to stores like BestBuy or something and get the extended warranty. That way they fix it or replace it. I know if BestBuy comes out for the same thing 3 times they automatically replace (well you have to remind them). Any item that I buy that is over 1k or is scratch & dent item always get the extended warranty. Yes it cost more to do this but I rather get it fixed for free than have to pay to get it fixed.

My Thermador double oven is crap also. The only thing I truly like, after about a year is the stove top with the star flame. But even that, the 5 points on the stars push flame above the pot and creates burn marks on the pots and pans. My fridge is Bosch, which is the same thing as Thermador and tomorrow is the 3rd time they are coming to fix it because the alarm keeps going off that the doors are open and everything inside defrosts then refreezes. My new LG dishwasher cleans just as well. Looks good. And takes less time to clean dishes. I believe I paid 600 for the new DW. I'm glad the video helped. Exactly. They sell it good but can't live up to it. My appliance repair guy says he has Wolf and Sub-Zero and he couldn't be happier with it. I got a Samsung washer and dryer, it's not the high end appliance, but it works great. It was affordable. And in 6 years I only had the heat coil go out and the belt on the dryer. Both parts I got on eBay, which were like 20 bucks each, and repaired it myself. They make it simple. Bringing my oven back to example, my repair guy says the oven has 18 computers inside. Everything is electronic and for a typical guy like me, I won't be able to find the problem or order parts to replace it.
@@TheStrivering I was going back and forth between sub zero/wolf and thermador. I liked the induction cooktop a little better from thermador (marketing material wise) so was leaning that way. Definitely not leaning that way anymore. We currently have samsung front load washer/dryer and have had zero issues as well. I've heard of people having issues, but honestly for the price who really cares. Could replace them a few times before spending the money of the high dollar stuff. :)
Yes, but then I run into the problem of storing the tray somewhere. And if I store it away, I won't use it. If I leave it out, it's in the way. It's a lot of unnecessary efforts for my household.
I just had this installed, we also have a Meile dishwasher and it is substantially louder than the Miele. That one I was convinced it was broken it is so quiet. Not horrible but noticeably louder. I wanted a 2nd Meile but they are two years backordered. So i settled with this one. Its not that bad but is it worth the $$$? Time will tell
Jerome Davis I just uploaded a short of the washing cycle, this is the loudest part of it. It’s not horribly loud but you’ll definitely know it’s running. Maybe about as loud as ice clanging around in a glass of water
I mentioned it in one of the videos. My dealer didn't have it on hand, so they ordered it from the manufacturer. Anything ordered is considered 'special order'. Special ordered items are non returnable. They didn't tell me this, it was in the fine print. They only do what they call a 'buy back' but it has to go through the manufacturer and it needs to meet there qualifications. Which include attempted repairs until they are satisfied with their visits, diagnosis reports, tech notes and a submitting within 3 days.
Thermador is like Range Rover. They make super high end luxury products that break and quit after a few years. They can’t be repaired because Thermador quits making the parts.
Incorrect. The Thermador dishwasher (this particular model) is mechanically the same as a Bosch Benchmark with a different door and some additional features.
I did not find a way to disable it. You can change the color inside but can't disable the touch feature. This was the most irritating engineering I've seen in modern technology.
@@TheStrivering Yes, it is terrible that you can't disable it. I think the best you can do is set it to "push 2X to open" via a setting. Thermador dropped the push-to-open feature on all their current models, which is too bad for the people who have handleless cabinets and actually want this feature.

I have this one too, it kinda sucks. My 20yr old Miele blows this out of the water. Lots of grinding/knocking noise also.

They are terrible. They quit making parts really fast and you have to replace the entire unit.

You should do a sound test to see how loud it is when it washes.

Thermador and Bosh is the same company, they change the control panel and that's about it. Haven't you noticed how it's similar inside?
