I love these videos. I applaud you for 100%ing the zones, I could never, although I might try with the latest chapter. Always looking forward to the next video to hear your views and ideas
My knowledge about these zones is about 10 years old but since I started out in EP I remember that I liked eastmarch and riften and hated the first 3 zones (Stonefalls, Deshaan, Shadowfen). Shadowfen was the worst for me back then in my memories.
You should’ve gotten a quest that appeared at the end of the main story they sent you to DeShawn. It appears just down the road after the end of the main story, you might’ve missed it, but the quest is literally called onto DeShawn or something similar.
Stonefalls *kinda* walks into the next zone. It happens in a few base game areas but basically you finish the quest line and the game expects you to wander down the road 20ft and an npc runs up to you explaining that they need help in the next area. Based on pure memory from like a decade ago you’re supposed to finish the brothers of strife quests in that middle volcano then go down the ashen road a few feet when a dunmer approaches you begging for help dealing with a plague. The game used to have stricter progression and better guided levelling before 1T update so now you get a more open and freeing experience but you can’t do the story as well as before. It’s also worth noting the main Coldharbour story and both mages/fighters guilds were meant to be done alongside the zone stories for each faction. Each zone progressing with levels and each quest unlocked being aligned with zone.
Are you doing Cadwell's Silver? The game shoudl guide you quite well to the next zone. It is indeed Deshaan! Then Shadowfen. And yeah, the main story in EP is over all zones and you will hear plenty about the history of Argonians and Dark elves in later zones (especially Shadowfen). This is just the prologue. Also, they have 2 so many extra Ebonheart zones now with expansions, Vvardenfell, Murkmire, Telvanni Peninsula, Clockwork City, and then Skyrim of course for the Nords. The basegame really is just the start.
One of the best content creators out there. You deserve more recognition. I also despise Stonefalls. I think it’s because during my first play through I got to this region and it took me so long to get through it that I got sick of the grey atmosphere. I speed run this region now lol.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback :) I think I may still do long-form 30+ min stuff when I do DLC content, but for this 10-year old content that everyone's done a million times, there's less incentive for me to do it (15 times for the entire world).
Im looking to get back into ESO again and i love your videos were you look back on the base game! I feels so nostalogic and as a EP guy i cant wait to watch your review on the pact zones. Keep it up! ;) And yeah Deshaan is the next zone
Yep, next one is Deshaan the most interesting zone in Ebonheart Pact (mostly because of Naryu). Sadly, quests are the weakest part of EP but you saved the most interesting faction in that aspect for last
Deshann is the next zone. I just did the main story for stinefalls a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure you get the quest to go there once you step out of the dungeon you fought the 2nd BoS in. I remember having a quest for it at least.
I am 99% sure that there is a quest in Stonefalls that's sending you to Deshaan. I started in EP and remember very clearly being requested to travel south to help with a plague going on there.
If you run south where the zone story ended there’s either a courier or a bridge with a note saying there’s trouble in Deshaan which starts a quest there you can continue to by using the gate further south to enter Deshaan
Great video as always. Some of the points you brought up get adressed in later Pact zones (like the Tribunal and the relationship with the Argonians). Stonefalls is a mediocre zone. Deshaan, which IS the next zone in order, is much better imo. Deshaan and Shadowfen are my favorite zones in the pact.
Stonefalls is my first big area and I 100 percented it and loved it so I’m excited to see what the rest of the game is like if this is the bottom of the barrel
The next zone in the order is Deshaan, although the story is nearly completely detached from Stonefalls. The only references to Deshaan is actually at that statue in 12:48, there's a scroll next to it talking about a cure in Deshaan for a plague. Going down the road has a super simple intro quest telling you to keep going down the road into Deshaan. Hope this helps!
I'm sure you've got to it by now, but a lot of your story complaints are addressed in further zones. How well is a matter of perspective, but Dunmer culture and religion is very prominent in some places. You'll have to wait until the Shadowfen zone for proper Argonian representation. Also every single delve in the game has a quest, even if some are as minor as finding a dead person somewhere in it and delivering the news to their next of kin. You're doing great btw. As someone who started playing when the Morrowind DLC dropped, it's refreshing to see a fresh point of veiw after so many years.
Looking forward to it! I find dunmer one of if not THE most interesting race in TES. I was a bit disappointed this area was so "vague" with their backstory (whereas Auridon was very specific and detailed about the Altmer, Alyieds and Thalmor). Ah, yeah that makes sense now. I don't really count those "fetch-and-retrieve" missions as "quests" but I suppose you're right. AD zones tended to have some really good lore-centered quests, I just kinda thought that stuff you're describing was more like a side-quest for some bonus gold.
OOOOOH I was waiting for this video! Bleakrock + Bal Foyen + Stonefalls was the first real storyline that got me hooked into the ESO, because of how attached i got to the people of bleakrock being attacked by the DC, which made me really root for them and want to make sure they're safe. It's really sentimental for me and It's really sad that i disliked the plot of all the other zones. PS. Although i would much prefer 30-40 min videos, if you can't do this 15 min videos are fine. We're rooting for you man!
Hey man Love these videos. As u continue to mention how deeply investet in the lore you are, I was wondering if you are Planung to make elder scrolls lore videos in the future.
Great video, as always! I think you are starting to see the pattern of how rushed and inconsistent parts of the base game are. Morrowind was my first real PC game so i fell in love with dark elf lore. I had only played pinball and solitair on computers before that lol. I remember getting this game at the end of 2015 and starting this zone. I was so excited to see what the coastline area of the mainland looked like. I think for the most parts they did a fantastic job with the visuals. But i wasnt fully blown away by ESOs dark elf depiction until the morrowind chapter came out. Which i think knocks it out of the park. Same thing with the Necrom chapter! I think you wont really get the dark elf lore and visuals until you eventually do those. But there is still alot of beauty in these starting zones.
the way ESO scaling works is at lower lvls it gives you buffs , and as you lvl up the buffs are removed, the enemies power is the same form lvl 1 to CP160+. Would be cool to see you try the Trials at some point and some of the harder content like vet DLC dungeons, and even a Trail on Vet
Yeah, I think that's in the works. Some of the ESO veteran content creators offered to take me out on my first raid. I probably won't stream it, but they will; so I'll make sure to post on twitter or something when it's happening.
Whenever you start a brand new character, since its new, they give it a huge buff since you lack skill points. So as you reach level 50, you start getting weaker resources (health/stamina/magicka) wise since you are supposed to be compensating it with passives and better upgraded armor. Light armor gives you crit chance/penetration/magicka recovery. Medium armor gives you crit damage/stamina recovery/weapon and spell damage. And and Heavy armor gives you Max health/healing received/ and more resources whenever you fully charge heavy attack. Hope that answers your question.
The short video is fine. Maybe do a "lore" video on the side as you said, but take your time don't stress it. Really life come fist and your enjoyment :) NIce stuff tho, keep it up ^^
Well I prefer longer format yes, but your busy that format was perfectly fine. I'd rather watch this format and see you go on other zone than you getting burned out by doing longer vod. Btw It's funny but you made me discover NefastQs it was a great podcast thank you !
For context, the three alliances were originally meant to have mutually exclusive content. Making all 15 zones available on one character was a last minute decision during the beta. Hopefully that helps explain why there seems to be so much duplication with regards to the achievements-it was a slog then, and it's a slog now. Stonefalls was my first zone in ESO but it's wild that this is your first experience of Morrowind. I really liked Vivec's Antlers, it's an important location for the Pact and it's the site of a battle that we had been hearing about since TES3/TES4. I wonder if you found and completed the zone's secret/well-hidden 'fetish' quest? For Deshaan, just walk through the gate near Kragenmoor to begin, just south of where you faced Sadal. There isn't a pointer quest leading you there, but you will be nabbed instantly once you arrive at Quarantine Serk.
iirc it is mentioned by some NPCs in Bleakrock Isle that 10 years before the events of basegame ESO, the Nords, Dunmer and Argonians were forced to band together to resist the latest Akaviri invasion, and that just as they were about to disband, Mannimarco's bs happened, giving them a reason to keep their extremely strained alliance.
Ebonheart zones story order is --> Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen, Stonefalls, Deshaan, Shadowfen, Eastmarch then finally Riften, i think the order on EP side is pretty annoying but it is what it is
Great video like always! I think the best way to prevent burnout is to spend less time on zones that are not interesting to you. Do not make something just for the sake of making yt video. If you enjoy the zone I bet that you will enjoy editing process more too. Also, work and RL is a priority! Keep it up :)
Thank you so much! Yeah that's idea; I think I'll be spending a lot longer in video with more content (DLC areas) but for these 10-year old zones I can't really justify spending that much time on them with my work-life-balance.
I feel like you’re gonna like daggerfall covenant when you get to those zones. It’s somewhat bland on the character amplitude to play anything else than The Hero, but the world building it’s top tier imo. Stonefalls/EP has better characters though.
CP160 feels so difficult because of the difficulty scaling they implemented with 1 Tamriel and because that is when you are at "max" as far as your armor and gear go but you're missing out on big bonuses with CP. Originally there was veteran ranks and that was how you dictated armor, the highest was vet16. They scrapped vet ranks and introduced the original CP system when 1 Tamriel dropped. 1 Tamriel was their huge game shift from the original idea (where you get Cadwell's Silver/Gold) from a game where you choose a faction and then you're locked into where you go (EP would start in their zone, then after you cleared the main story you went to the another zone from a different faction that was only populated by your faction. So EP for example would head to DC's campaign for Silver and AD territory for Gold. All the enemies were based more on your level then and the only players you would see were from your faction which made the end game look like a ghost town. They shifted to what you have now where you can go anywhere and play with anyone and all the enemies are scaled to you. This has 2 real problems, 1 is that new players usually have no idea where to go and Cadwell's Silver and Gold don't really make sense now and the beginning of the game is EXTREMLY easy and your "mid" point when you finally are able to get max gear is harder cuz you don't have the training wheels on that you didn't really know you had to begin with.
It's been a long time since I played any non AD base game zones. But from what I remember, while I didn't care much for either Stonefalls or Deshaan, the Shadowfen story was really good.
the reason argonians are allied with the dunmer is down to one reason: the three-faction alliance system. each alliance is separated into 3 sections with cyrodiil in the middle, being the primary alliance conflict. due to the way the provinces are, this meant that the argonians got stuck with the dunmer simply because of black marsh's location. it's a product of game design, unfortunately.
You know, we here on UA-cam are used to feeling entitled to mindlessly consume hundreds of hours' worth of content for free, so you better keep the crunch going! On a serious note, thanks for the video, and take your time for the next one if needed. I feel much better knowing that my content creator is feeling well while making videos and not tormenting their soul in the act of algorithm-pleasing.
In regards to the leveling, they are now expecting you to use champion points so you should use them now. All of the gear is capped at cp 160 and everything will scale based off of your experience meaning if you have the points you should use them.
If you want my humble opinion i like the longer videos way more but i understand work lol but dw about my attention ill gladly watch a hour or 2 of you
Maybe as an idea a lore go over at the end of the ep storyline. Cool things you learnt, etc. or even linked back to skyrim. It might help a little with just questing burnout. I personally have to take decent sized breaks between each of the faction storylines to avoid burnout otherwise i end up not focusing on the story at all. Another idea might be to jump into cyrodil or imperial city. Ic has some interesting dungeons and each zone has a quest that links back to the main story. Cyrodil is fun and has some little pockets of lore and feels like your'e in different game (except there is fishing).
You should play Morrowind. I wasn’t born yet when it came out, but recently I played it and it’s without a doubt the best game in the series. No matter how much you mod Skyrim, it just can’t compare.
IDK if you'll see this. But when you get to the DLC zones again I would highly recommend setting aside some time to listen to the bards. Many DLC zones have a different set of songs from the base game. For instance Northern and Southern Elsweyr has khajiiti songs, Murkmire has Argonian songs, High Rock and Galen has Breton songs, and so on. With some of the songs being genuinely great (like, I'll legit listen to my favourite Elsweyr songs, even when I am not playing. That's how good they are).
I liked the Stonefalls storyline right up to Tanval's heel turn; it just seemed a bit out of character for him. I liked some of the side quests, like the woman in the graveyard who is pining for her dead lover who, sadly, did not feel the same way about her. Also the quest to retrieve the poison antidote for the woman whose mother is dying from the Breton captain's poison. It kind of showcased how bad the Daggerfall Covenant can be, especially when so many of their leaders have been compromised by the Worm Cult. And there is a breadcrumb quest that should lead you to Deshaan next. I think it's some messenger who has been wounded and asks you to head to Deshaan in his stead. There's also a pamphlet somewhere in the southeast area that talks about a cure for the plage in Deshaan. But yeah, it's a lot less integrated than the equivalent Aldmeri Dominion linking quest. I guess they were trying for organic, but made the quest too easy to miss....
Honestly, Ebonheart Pact has to be one of my favorite questlines in the Elder Scrolls. Argonians are my favorite race, and I also love Nords and Dark elves. So to see all the lore in this game in their own provinces is fucking awesome. Stonefalls is a bit bland besides the main story, but imo, the rest of the Ebonheart Pact provinces are SO good, and you do see later on how truely splintered and how much the Ebonheart Pact is an alliance on necessity.
9:30 making most of the slavers from Telvanni seems like a huge plot hole if you ask me. It feels like they just made it Telvanni because the Telvanni are isolationist and thus they don’t have to write any actual Dunmer-Argonian tension. Yes, the Telvanni are slavers. But House Dres is FAR more slave-focused. The entire Dres economy is based on slavery, their entire House is based around the massive slave plantations of southern Morrowind. It all seems very cheap.
When I first read the title on the video I thought: "Nice, he's going to Vvardenfel!" I forgot there is a continental part on the Dunmer land! XD On a side note, some of the crows you found in the Public Dungeon will appear again in the DLC Clockwork City.
There are only a few tribes of Argonians allied to the pact, basically all of Argonia is just an independent state. But yea theres still a feud going on between the Dunmer and Argonians.
Hey, whatever works for you is fine by me. But i would lie if id say i do not want the old 30-40 miniute videos. But you have you have to what works and is okay for you. Congratz on your job, i hope you enjoy it, i hate mine lol.
The way the current scaling system works, your character stats scale down as you level up, the world only really scales between content types. The world is always CP160(and then tuned for different types of content), and then you lose your new player stats are you level, the idea being that you've gotten better at the game, better abilities and better gear plus Champion Points to compensate for the world being more dangerous now that you are basically at a 1:1 with the world, both of you being CP160 scaled. Edit: And yea, the transition from Stonefalls to Deshaan has gotten worst and worst over the years, I don't know why they haven't fixed it so it is more obvious. But very possible ZOS just doesn't consider it a problem
I really hope that one day you will go back and at least try and play morrowind It’s the only elder scrolls game that entwines gameplay and lore in a satisfying way.
Not sure if you got your answer on why you couldn't solo the Stonefalls WB as easily as Auridon yet but ill add it anyhow. 1. All enemies are max level (cp160 is max gear level) and you are scaled up to that at all times. The more you level up the less you get scaled. The mobs don't change, so when you start over on gear and are basically naked when you get to a new zone. You are missing all of the gear stats the level scaling gave YOU. the game assumes by 160 that you have CP allocated, max level gear and at least some sets. when you lit level 50 you stop gaining attribute points for leveling say stamina and health. I'm not sure if you noticed but when you leveled up to say around 30ish, your attributes were most likely lower than when you were level one without decent gear. 2. This applies EVERYWHERE in the game. I'm not telling you how to play but starting a new zone naked will make things significantly harder to solo. Expansion zone WB would be borderline impossible(some are impossible solo even with proper gearing) Hope this helped.

Congrats on the job! Great. Keep as always!
To be honest with you, I think longer videos with 30-45 min better than this one. But that's my opinion. Nice video.
Keep it up! ;)
And yeah Deshaan is the next zone
Yep, next one is Deshaan the most interesting zone in Ebonheart Pact (mostly because of Naryu). Sadly, quests are the weakest part of EP but you saved the most interesting faction in that aspect for last
Deshann is the next zone. I just did the main story for stinefalls a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure you get the quest to go there once you step out of the dungeon you fought the 2nd BoS in. I remember having a quest for it at least.
Good luck with the new job brother🙏🏻
After you complete events in Stonefalls, you’re supposed to go to the zone called Deshaan which is directly south of Stonefalls on the world map.
Thanks!
These videos are so fantastic, seriously well done man
Thanks
I think everyone here knows that work and personal life should be a priority.
That's great to hear, I'm looking forward to it!
Stonefalls is my first big area and I 100 percented it and loved it so I’m excited to see what the rest of the game is like if this is the bottom of the barrel
There is a lead up quest for DESHAAN near Deshaan gate...>>>
ESO was my life. I spent years on it. I miss the first immersion.
@@FrostbreakYT Deshaan, Vvardenfell, Clockwork, and Necrom are all about Dunmer culture. Don't miss all the stuff hidden in lore books, too!
There should be a main quest that gives you a letter to Deshaan. The next one is Deshaan no doubt
I remember the back and forward with those side quests 🥱 I'm up to Shadowfen, catching me up 😀 Nice video length!
Do a second video maybe if you’re really into the zone? Love the vids so far man
the way ESO scaling works is at lower lvls it gives you buffs , and as you lvl up the buffs are removed, the enemies power is the same form lvl 1 to CP160+.
Really life come fist and your enjoyment :) NIce stuff tho, keep it up ^^
Thank you for the video also no Bleakrock isle and Bal Foyen?
I streamed it. Took 2.5 hours to 100% both of them, didn't feel like it warranted a video.
Go to deshaan! Goated zone :)
Looking forward to it!
Ebonheart zones story order is --> Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen, Stonefalls, Deshaan, Shadowfen, Eastmarch then finally Riften,
i think the order on EP side is pretty annoying but it is what it is
Great video like always!
@@FrostbreakYTcompletely understood! Just focus on yourself and do not loose that fun you have playing ESO in first place so take your time 😁
I feel like you’re gonna like daggerfall covenant when you get to those zones.
It’s somewhat bland on the character amplitude to play anything else than The Hero, but the world building it’s top tier imo.
Stonefalls/EP has better characters though.
Love all the videos
This has 2 real problems, 1 is that new players usually have no idea where to go and Cadwell's Silver and Gold don't really make sense now and the beginning of the game is EXTREMLY easy and your "mid" point when you finally are able to get max gear is harder cuz you don't have the training wheels on that you didn't really know you had to begin with.
love the content man! keep it up :)
The Dunmer quests are mostly finding lost Guar.
Congrats on the job
deshaan ----> shadowfen ----> eastmarch ----> the rift
is the pact storyline zone order after stonefalls.
In regards to the leveling, they are now expecting you to use champion points so you should use them now. All of the gear is capped at cp 160 and everything will scale based off of your experience meaning if you have the points you should use them.
If you want my humble opinion i like the longer videos way more but i understand work lol but dw about my attention ill gladly watch a hour or 2 of you
Wait till u get to Abah's landing and then somehow end up kidnapping a lady for a lizard
I guess they were trying for organic, but made the quest too easy to miss....
ah man, i love stone falls. its always the first zone i go to when i make a new character. Vivecs antlers is a pretty decent farming spot
Finally 😤
Finally indeed.
You missing out on the multiplayer event rn!
I love you frostbreak, your videos are awesome
Thank you!
Would love 40 minute videos but when you have the time of course
The start of this quest line is in bleak rock
27 seconds ago is crazy
yo, didn't watch it yet, why so short?
Watched it, got it👍
xD
Ayy congrats on the job. I'll miss the longer content but responsibilities are responsiblities. Keep up the great work.
Thanks :)
We are so back
woohoo
this is a good really series so do whatever format doesn't get you brunt out on it
When I first read the title on the video I thought: "Nice, he's going to Vvardenfel!" I forgot there is a continental part on the Dunmer land! XD
On a side note, some of the crows you found in the Public Dungeon will appear again in the DLC Clockwork City.
Ah very interesting. The crows had some funny voice actors, one kinda sounded like patton oswald .
@@FrostbreakYT I completed Clockwork City before doing this dungeon, so a line like "Hey, do you remember me?" appeared to me when talking to them.
10 min format is great, also cant wait till you go to Glenumbra, something extra awaits you there.
Sounds exciting :)
Just finished the vid, shorter vid works king
Thank you :)
Expansion zone WB would be borderline impossible(some are impossible solo even with proper gearing)
Hope this helped.
