  • Don't Have a Piece of Live Edge Wood wide enough for your project? Have you been told that " it's just not big enough to fit!" Well if this sounds like your problem this may be the first time you heard that if it's not big enough its no problem! ;) From time in memorial woodworkers have all run into the same problem, not having a wood stretcher to stretch that board to dimension. Well I'm here to tell you there is a work around! For this particular project the Woodworking shop I work at and jointly own (Moose Mountain Woodworks) had been hired by a returning customer and local business in Carlyle SK ( Michael's Coffee Shop & Bakery ) to update his front countertop. In this case our client was looking for something that would fit the aesthetics and vibe of this particular coffee shop and add a bit of wow factor when you come in. It was decided to to a nice live edge wood countertop with clear epoxy for added flare. In this case the clear epoxy not only looks amazing and accents the wood, but it also allowed us to make the countertops what ever finished width we needed, hence the wood stretcher. A big thanks to our client for trusting us to provide him with what he had envisioned. In this kinda sort of how to project we used a locally sourced Elm wood, with Eco-Poxy's flow cast. The Wood was finished with a Spray On Post Conversion Varnish 20*. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below, I hope you enjoy!

It sure helps to have the tools needed for the job. Definitely the cost of it isn't cheap, but I think our client made a good investment for his coffee shop.
