Along a similar vein, I'd love to hear an Irish performance of " Be Thou My Vision." It was originally an Irish poem commemorating St. Patrick's bringing the gospel to Ireland.
This gave me chills the first time I heard the first verse. Amazing job good sir! I've always enjoyed learning and trying to sing hymns in Irish Gaeilge in church when I can. Amazing Grace has always been one of my favorites, along with Be Thou My Vision. Very well done sir! Peace be with you!

I love this song and the story of the song. The story is of a slave ship captain who later came to to regret what he had done. He became a pastor and became one of the biggest abolitionist in English history. The song directly quotes his poem “Faiths revue and expectations”. The line “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me” is directly from the poem.

I've really hit rock bottom and some very low points these past few years my faith has struggled and my belief has swayed with time through lingering anger, guilt regrets and grief.
But Amazing Grace was always and still is a piece I can listen to whenever I need my mood lifted. It always reminds me to never give up striving to be better and improve as a person and move on from my pain and struggles. That there's definitely Light Within the darkness.
Life is never easy it's an everlasting struggle but that's what makes life have purpose and worth living. To embrace the good and the bad.
I haven't seen my childhood BFF group in almost 2 years now. Each day is becoming easier to wake up and get out of bed in the morning, go to work and eventually, return to college. However as of right now I'm taking things slowly one step at a time. After these past two years, I'll be looking forward to reuniting with my best friends again. The boys, my blood brothers. Until then, my faith shall not falter and I will continue to pray and strive to make the most of my life. 🙏✝️
