Writing in your cookbook is also something that your kids are gonna treasure when they're older I know I treasure a lot of writings of my parents and grandparents it's just something about physically having that there with you that is So wonderful 💗💗💗
Hope you're feeling better, Jill. I also love to write in my cookbooks. Not just notes about the recipes, but also for which occasions I used each recipe and some of the fun things that happened with the family during the gathering. I also like to note in the front of the book when and where I got the it, including any little fun notes about coffee shop visits that day etc. Now that my kids are all grown, it's such fun to look back at these diaries of family life. :) xo
Our little Central Texas town is iced in ... worse ice that last February...streets are sheets of ice ... got my truck stuck this morning after hitting black ice ... had wonderful people helping me. Ice is no joke when it is 4-5 inches thick and back to back hard freezes that ruins everything that possibly tried to melt. Hoping tomorrow will get us thawed.
It’s ok, in Colorado, where we ARE prepared for snow, schools cancel even when they are predicting snow. It’s seriously crazy…they never used to do that.
Hope you are feeling better now Jill. Good on Nathan looking after you. Thank you for sharing the bagel recipe that was really interesting to watch you make them & inspiring. They looked yummy!
It's always nice to have your husband cook but especially when you're sick it's nice to have your husband cook for you I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon, much love 💗💗💗
Funniest part on yesterday’s video was when Nate was feeding the chickens and they was clucking the commentary on my IPad was laugh laugh laugh. It was like what every he was saying they were laughing at him.
Woohoo.. So we survived herein SE Oklahoma, too! Had us scared like it was 2000😂 But jumped up and made those bagels, too... Thanks for the idea and you made it look easy💃
Oh my feel better soon! Suddenly not feeling well might be the big C so resting is the best thing you can do! It May or may not just take care and rest!
Ice storms are not snow storms. Ice takes a lot more caution, preparation for downed power lines AND staying home totally off the roads in all areas of the world.
We lived in South Texas for 5 years in the '80s ( including hurricane Alicia '83) and it snowed once but didn't even stick to the ground and natives were freaking out ,even wrecking in their vehicles, was on their news stations. Being from Indiana, we couldn't relate then ,but after a few years, we too, got cold in winter there because our bodies had adjusted to the summer heats
Nathan did an amazing Job! Loved watching him do the farm chores. He's a natural! Can't wait to see more videos with him. Your both amazing people and such a joy to watch. The bagels looks yummy, same so the last time you had made them. Love yas!
Oh Yea I commented yesterday about what a great job Nathen did making the video. I really enjoyed it😁. I’m so sorry that You got hit suddenly with a bug😒. Thanks for making the bagels 🥯 even though you felt bad🥰
Thanks for powering through even though you weren’t feeling well. Hope you feel better soon! The whole family! I’ve never made bagels 🥯 but now I really want to. Gotta find the time.
Stay safe! Here in Canada we are used to crazy winter weather… Just be careful and enjoy that fireplace in the basement! We never see you sitting by it♥️NathanNeedsASide-by-side!!!! go team Nathan lol
What is the container you use for your starter? Looking forward to buying some of 'Otis'. The best way I've found to make big holes in bagels is to use your two pointer fingers in the hole and roll your fingers over each other, kinda like twiddling your thumbs. The hole needs to be way bigger than you think. Feel better soon. ❤ NathanNeedsASide-By-Side 😉
Good job on your first solo vlog. Keep up the good work. The more often you do them the more confident you’ll feel. That’s just the way it is with life. Right?
Right before you posted on Instagram that you were making bagels, I decided I was going to make bagels this weekend. I bought the book a few weeks ago after you recommended it and boy were they delicious! Thanks for the recommendation! Also the bagel recipe is available on her website if someone doesn't want to buy the book
Hi Jill, I watched this video 2 months ago and I loved it. It just popped up on my YT feed again and I had to watch it again. So much information in the video🍞🥯. Best Wishes. 🦋🥰🌻
He did a great job! Very informative and I’m believing God with him for a Tracror and some other farm aids for y’all! Hugs and love from Texas! That’s how we do bad weather too! Lol
Funny thing....at the beginning of this video I thought "I'll ask Jill for a good referral to get some starter!". I am SO excited to hear about your starter sale! I know no one to get some friendly starter from since moving here to Florida. Stay warm and safe and feel better! Feeling bad hits me quick like it did you. Sending Blessings!!
This may be a dumb question...but I thought you had to let the starter 'breathe' or open to air to capture the wild yeast in the air? I see that you covered yours with a tight lid. How does that still work? Thanks for the video on making bagels - one thing that I have not made myself yet and want to try...❓⁉❓
I bought one this book...excellent recipes. Bagels and english muffins too. I enjoyed watching you shape your bagels. Stretching them much more than I did. Yours turned out great. I'll Stretch mine more next time I make them. Thanks again for sharing. I don't miss yesterday's video going there now.

Feel better.
One day your daughters and grandkids will cherish your handwritten notes in the blank space of your cookbooks.
That was so cute seeing June Bug and the kitty playing while you were mixing and kneading the dough.
Nate was great doing his vlog. You and Jess (Roots and refuge) have lovely men. Hi from Country Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
You are amazing, Jill. So nice to have someone like Nate to lean on. Be well. Love from Ireland.💚
Nathan did an amazing job on his first video. Please let him know, so that he might do some more. I would definitely watch.
Making notes for your own is awesome! I write in my bible all the time.
It's great to watch you make bagels. These snowstorms are getting old. Come on gardening time. 😁🎉
I put mine on top of my water heater lol

Northern Indiana here. Our schools closed too for 2-ish days. Trust me Arkansas is fine, particularly since this is not weather you experience often.
Nathan did a great job for his first vlog! Looking forward to seeing more from him. He needs to relax a little more but it was fun.

He did great! Just like a pro, he is a natural!
Bagels 🥯 looked amazing. We got the ice storm in Texas too. Be safe
Can wait for more sourdough videos. Trying to learn how to start it and having a little trouble but trial and error is key

It takes time to do all the work of baking. But in the end, if you are purposeful and do all the steps right, the result is worth it.
Absolutely!
I have that same book in kindle. I love it. I named my starter"Zoe" since it means life. Do what I can to make sure it lives.😃
