This was an excellent list! I have already requested every one I could find at the library. Like you, I was not taught to cook growing up. And food and the kitchen were not an important part of our family. My husband is the cook in our family but I have been feeling a need to feel more connected to the food that I grow. And that means really learning to cook. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I have been trying to find some that help me actually use things I want to grow. Please share your sourdough cookbook favorites! I absolutely love tangible books, especially cookbooks because I find them so much easier than searching online and I love handwriting my notes in. Thank you so much for being so open and honest with sharing all of these resources. Your authenticity and desire to truly help others is inspiring. Thank you for all that you do!

Part two, I love cookbooks! My favorite are group cookbooks. Church groups, work groups, fundraiser cookbooks. They are usually small, spiral bound, community cookbooks. 😎

Some great recommendations! I know y’all have a LOT on your plate, but hope you’ll soon have time to peruse the Deep Run Roots farm to table cookbook I sent a couple months back. Vivian Howard has a beautiful story I think you’ll love 🤗

My Mom has a bookcase dedicated for her cookbooks. She has even given some to me. My nursing home I work at has done fundraising with making a cookbook. Proceeds go to reside ts that can't afford meds. Esp cancer meds are often not covered on Medicaid/Medicare.

I have two current favorites. Polish Your Kitchen by Anna Hurning. My husbands family is Polish and we LOVE the food so much. These authentic polish recipes are fun to try and turn out pretty good. I also really love Stivers Homestead Recipes from the Farm and Family. This book has simple and easy recipes. Nothing too fancy which is right up my ally sometimes. And they are good! Plus there is room at the end to add my own favorite recipes. I'm definitely going to check out some of your faves. :)

My favorite cookbook is a simple little book written by a local gal who was tired of feeling like there are no good options for those on restricted diets. So she decided to write her own, because why not?! (spoiler alert, she is me 🙂) "For the Love of Food ~ Recipes from the Homestead" coming atcha soon!

I am addicted to cookbooks I buy so many from the early 1900's - 1950's. There are a lot of obscure books with very old recipes. The ingredients are often not available or made anymore unless you make it or know someone that can. I am also deeply attracted to international cooking. I am learning so much about Korean cooking. I saw the fermented radish recipe you had in the book. I am learning so many types of kimchi the more well know cabbage variety but also a lettuce kimchi salad, kimchi radishes made from a Korean radish but the Diakon can be substituted. This past weekend I went to the store where I buy this one and they had several seeds in a box for sale. They were all in Korean but this one had the picture of the radish I buy. So I bought it brought it home started it and 6 of 6 all germinated now!! I really like all the books you had in the video. I really like how you explain the farm farmer to the recipe to the chef cook that will make the dish. The vision is the key to really making the elevated dish that may be a one of a kind of your own creation. I love your use of the vision as you tell the story. Fun fun video

I love a good cookbook myself. I would love to learn more about seasonal gardening, I've always grown a garden planting in the spring and eating and canning all summer but never anything more. I would love a high tunnel but that's just really not in my budget but maybe I can make a couple cold frames or hot boxes, don't even know the difference at this point.
