Hi Lisa ..been making toggles, but many other kinds of clasps , for a long time..i love seeing new handmade jewelry but when the clasps are not handmade i feel like ppl show their work and end at a sorry point , by not making their own..thanks for showing ppl how to finish their work..
I love the tornado beads and toggles ... Yours are some of the best!! I appreciate how patient you are in all your videos to show every detail we need to know. Thanks much!
Thank you, I'm a beginner and you are so great at teaching these basics , clear and many tips , and you show how to correct some of the mistakes, love it...I'm off to practice...
Yes I enjoyed watching you create your work this is what I call a real jewelry designer, you made everything you needed buying pieces is sort of cheating to me, so. yes I would consider you a real jewelry designer. Thank you!
Just found this and it is beautiful, I just wondered why it isn't closed with soldering and it that is an option? I have been learning silversmithing for the last three years, and in our class we are taught to make everything we will use in our pieces.
Soldering is a great technique and a great option for many projects! This project/design doesn't require soldering but it's certainly up to the designer :)
Hi...Mary Decker below, said you are a talented artist..yes you are! I've been going to Beaducation.com for years. You were.. that I know of the first teaching site with videos. I spoke with you on the phone once and you said if you could keep this up it will be great..I now know what you meant.. now.everyone has them. You guys are a novice in my opinion!!! Still the best. I wonder if I could solder the toggle? Also I'm having a hard time finding the videos I bought from you guys on the site..which I can find most here now but still want to see what videos I have. Thank you so much for sharing...love you guys and I bet your daughter is an amazing artist. I really liked the way she interviewed the Artists after the videos. Cutie!
Deborah Bergen Hi Deborah. You can find all your videos on our site, www.beaducation.com/, log in to your account , click "my account" at the top of the page and hit "my favorites". When we transferred over to a new system we pulled them all over to that area. Thanks so much for the compliments! We are still crankin' these out. We shot 5 classes this week! Guess what, my daughter who did those interviews, is now 14!!!! How did that happen :)
Yes pearls would work if their holes are big enough for the wire. When working with pearls or sensitive beads, I prefer to pre-oxidize my wire so the beads don't have to go into the solution. Hope this helps :)
Happy Saturday everyone! I have a quick question. I'm new to wire jewelry. What kind of silver colored wire do I purchase to use that is not brass or copper on the inside? I sometimes hammer out with a brass hammer and that is breaking down the silver outer layer and showing a copper color. Thanks, hope that makes sense.
Did you order the pliers from us, and received a different plier? We would be happy to correct the shipping mistake, if that's what happened. You can email us at cs@beaducation.com. Let me know how we can help. Have a great day!
If using the same size mandrel as we do in the video, start with 6" then make the loop side of the toggle, then trim it off. That should use about 3" and leave you with 3" for the other side. If you use a different size mandrel, that will have to change to make it bigger or smaller.
Hi Carol, a 'centerpiece' is the focal point of a necklace, bracelet, or other piece of jewelry. This toggle is versatile, because it can be either a clasp or a centerpiece, it's up to you!
I am so disappointed as i wanted the german style round nose but ended up getting something i have nO idea how to use!! :( and to return it will cost more then the item cost itself!!! :( so i am stuck with the pillars i never wanted!!! :( bUT i love your turtorious ....... I think i will do a a wha to do with these pliers lol on my you tube hahaha

Beautiful! I could even see using the design as a standout pendant on a strong silver necklace (snake chain, etc).

Beautiful! Could small genuine pearls be used with the sterling silver wire? Would the oxidizing acid affect them?
Yes pearls would work if their holes are big enough for the wire. When working with pearls or sensitive beads, I prefer to pre-oxidize my wire so the beads don't have to go into the solution. Hope this helps :)

You will need to use Sterling Silver wire or Fine Silver wire.
