This is the best warm up game for a game night. Super easy to teach and because it's broken into 5 minute segments, you can stop anytime. My game group uses it as starter while waiting for folks to show up because you can bring a player (even a newbie!) into the middle of the bigger game, no problem (and heck, I have fun being a "6th player" just flipping the door cards over). It plays by far the best with at least one newbie in it. Watching their excitement grow is worth it!
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf for the last few months xD
Only "approved?" I always thought you give this a seal of excellence. Even so, this is a great, stressful, fun family game. Even my 4 year old could play it. It's one of my wife's favorite games. I also kickstarted it so it had some bonus cards/bosses, but the retail version is great too.
@@winnie666 You don't necessarily have to read, just know the cards and symbols. If this is a family situation, the other players can read for the 4 year old as needed.
@@xshadowscreamx hehehehe... You think we beat all the bosses! Nope. The last boss is so tough. Granted, it might be a kickstarter exclusive. The game is absolutely replayable by using different characters since each has different abilities. For the price point, you can't go wrong. Check out 5 Minute Mystery too. We've enjoyed it just as much, if not more.
Love the game..mine came in a square box and the backside of the dungeons tell how many cards you use for x players and x difficould level..and 2 extra heros. my biggest complain is that it does not come with a sandclock. The app is awesome..great narration..but no way to play without a phone or a seperate timer/sandclock..on a longer session it kills the battery. So a sandclock would be nice if you want to play without using electricity
Now the coolest thing about these kind of games is HOMEMADE cards. ;) Imagine not just fighting Steve and a Giant Baby Boss, but a poop emoji or Ghastly. (Idk) but it wouldn’t be too hard to make your own. Just bought this at Walmart. Brother is in town so me and the family are probably going to play this tonight or tomorrow. I used to have so much fun with making my own board games, and I think everyone will enjoy this. Anyhow thanks for the review. About to head home and get this show on the road.
Bet it wouldn't be too hard to make a player vs. player game using this system. One player controls the monsters & the other people play the characters on a team. Just like the monsters, player cards can be killed if monsters inflict enough sword or arrow points, which can be countered with shield cards maybe?
I own the German version and it is always a blast with my sons. Quick, easy and just a lot of fun. Huge recommendation for a light and fast family game.
Sad thing..you never have the time to look at the dungeon cards and laugh over the title and arwork..you only look at the symbols and try to get rid of the card. But indeed..very good/funny game.
Great to replay, you can vary your heros, difficould level, never know what will come at the next dungeon door (since there are many doors and you only pick a few) or what cards you draw, events happen. I played throu all dungeons many times with friends and it was always a different outcome. Sometimes you have a rush..sometimes you loose at the beginning.
I have to be playing this game wrong, I played this game back to back with 3 people and we never even made it through the 26 doors to even get to the "Baby Barbarian".
Is this a reprint, or just an older game Tom reviews? Hunter & Cron reviewed the German version in June, and I think this game is not originally from Kosmos, or is it? Also the hourglass shape of the box seems to be new to me.
Varies by number of players. When playing 4 or 5 players, your minimum hand size is 3 cards. There is no max limit, if people keep playing cards to make you draw or to give you their cards.
World of Warpaint Yeah I agree. I think I'd prefer this game, though, because the match-the-colour/symbol on the card mechanic better suits a game like this in my opinion In this game it looks like a light mechanic in a light game. In Dragonfire it makes it look like a convoluted version of this game
So basically the theme is just tagged onto it. The game could just be played with an abstract variant by just matching some symbols. I find it is a bit of a letdown for me. Sorry, have to pass on this one.
I'm not getting why a game that is pretty much void of strategy would be considered so good. It looks to have a similar vibe to Castle Panic in that regard where there is a lack of thoughtful decisions. I think I will stick with Welcome top the Dungeon where the competitive aspect keeps it alive but it also has the low time stamp.

Nice to see experienced players being welcoming to newbies like me
Tom, slide the bottom two cards one space to the right to make the "5" complete.
Well, half a space, but yes, it's not put together correctly.

@Maxton Asher yup, have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :D
@Maxton Asher Definitely, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)

Backed this on KS, and we’ve had a ton of fun with it so far. The app makes it 5x better!
man these reviews are really good, they've become my main source for deciding on games but i cringe every time you dump the boxes out lol.
Pinhead9860 Yes someone else got cringed too! 😂
Me too lol i treat all of my games very carefully so seeing that makes me cringe. Also the hammer of approval at the end of some videos.
my six year old daughter thinks it’s hilarious

It's great that your 4 year old can read, congratulations.

Is there a reason to play it after you beat all the bosses?

Thanks for the review. I was confused by the directions as well, like to which cards go in the discard pile. All in all a fun game with the fam.
Got this for my 9 year-old cousin for Christmas. Really looking forward to playing it with him, the cards look funny!
Sad thing..you never have the time to look at the dungeon cards and laugh over the title and arwork..you only look at the symbols and try to get rid of the card. But indeed..very good/funny game.
the app for this is sooo good im surprised you dint talk about it more !
Backed it on Kickstarter and both our family and our game group really enjoy playing it.
You don’t know my grandma!
This looks super fun but what about the replayability? The decks don't seem that big to have much variety. Hmmm...
You don't actually look at the cards as your playing, you are going to fast to notice anything but the symbols, or you lose.
Great to replay, you can vary your heros, difficould level, never know what will come at the next dungeon door (since there are many doors and you only pick a few) or what cards you draw, events happen. Great little quick game. We play it a lot and love it!
It's like $12 right now on clearance at Gamestop, looks pretty interesting.
That's a really nice hat, man.
Wait im confused how do you loose and what do you do if you dont have the right symbols to beat the monster?
We always have fun with this and plus sometimes all you got is a couple of minutes.
That box is Weeeeiiirrd.
Just played this multiple times in a row, it's a good game and is pretty difficult.
Wish rpgs like D&D had a fast and simple combat system like this!
Whats the name of the game on the shelf with a red dude on it?
this game is absolute chaos when we play it and we love it. Just yelling like we playing Anomia hah
I have to be playing this game wrong, I played this game back to back with 3 people and we never even made it through the 26 doors to even get to the "Baby Barbarian".

Tought the same, the Boss card is also double sided in the german version. The Backside has a matrix of the card mixup printed on.
It was a kickstarter than came out early in the year. This is the retail version. Great game.
My only observation from your review is that you didn't show how you get more cards, or how the effects of the cards are used.
+1 if you get the joke behind Zola The Gorgon
Great game and would recommend to others :)
I saw you hiding in that deck, Steve.
Hello, I really find this game interesting but is there any other game that’s similar but competitive instead of co-op?
"Steve"
"Start at the beginning" = old-school videogame gimmick. You lose. That's it. Done ! Cry!
Orko from Masters of the Universe has turned evil!
HE-MAN!!!!!
I saw this at toys r us today
this game is fun as hell.
I like Huntress
Bro looks like Corey from Pawn Stars.
Sold!
This looks great but I wish it had a different way to track 'time' instead of actual time!
What is the card limit per hand?
Varies by number of players. When playing 4 or 5 players, your minimum hand size is 3 cards. There is no max limit, if people keep playing cards to make you draw or to give you their cards.
That hat tho
Only watched a few minutes but looks like a kids version of Dragonfire.
World of Warpaint Yeah I agree.
I think I'd prefer this game, though, because the match-the-colour/symbol on the card mechanic better suits a game like this in my opinion

World of Warpaint dragonfire isn't real time, the gameplay is very different.
Your review is longer than the game
7:05 WHAT are you even trying to say? Like those jumbled "sentences" make no sense.

Not every game needs deep strategy? Sometimes a quick game with little thought is just what you need for a group of people to have some fun.
I cringed when you dumped all the cards onto the table together. I bet that was fun to clean up...
It doesn't take long if you know what you're doing.
@@nm5329 I guess, but I personally hate someone purposely dumps a huge pile of cards. Plus, I didn't realize that they did it for every review.
