Austin Campbell and the DCT supposedly a shade quicker shifting ! I also don't trust myself with 560-600 hp .....some say the S7 is TOO quiet.....fine by me....a touch of growl with launch control is good enough!
I have a 2016 one, amazing car. What I have researched about the tiptronic transmission from Volks is that this one is the most durable and realiable transmission VW has ever made, it inst the fastest one from a shifting perspective as the DSGs/Stronics 6 or 7, however due the heavy burden the RS7 engine brings to the entire car (a lot of heat and pressure all the time) maybe putting the tiptronic 8 was to make sure it doesnt brake as much as a dsg/stronic would do, recent researchs about high performance cars are indicatong that older techs in newer cars has been proving to be a good combination while sustaing the heat, pressure and chassis motion these fast cars generates.
Good video. I have to disagree about the transmission. I bought the car BECAUSE of the auto. I had a dual clutch in my previous Audi and it was rubbish off the line and laggy to the point of dangerous. This transmission just goes off the line, especially for exiting a side road. It can even be foot braked. I'm looking forward to the tune, I'm still deciding on who, but it will likely be Revo at this moment. I too have had radio issues too, so I might do your test. Thanks.
I have a 2017 S7. I love the 7 speed DC transmission. It has the black out package, so 20" wheels. I went with winter tires but being lazy a better choice for me would have been all season Continentals. The adaptive cruise control is a dream. When you have to hit the road and are stuck following highway traffic it is wonderful. It is a great do it all car. Thanks for the video.
How has it been holding up?? I always see reviews or just people who don't talk much into ownership costs and such. I'd like to pick up a 14-16 S7 soon as a weekend car. But if it's going to be breaking down majorly 2 times each year then I might reconsider. Please respond 🙏
I won't lie i loved the video great job man i'm thinking of getting the 2016-18 my self just haven't found any dealer that will take 50k cash for the Performance
In Europe you can buy 21 and 22 inch winter tires :) And the dual clutch transmission can't handle the torque of the RS7... that's what I've heard. Don't know if is true.
I’ve had a tuned S7 and now have an RS7. It’s true the dual clutch is less reliable under heavy torque loads. Mine was fine but was only 525bhp and 800nm. I found the dual clutch dim witted at slow speeds and generally annoying unless in manual mode. The RS7 box is better in every way in my opinion, doesn’t feel any slower but just works better and I don’t worry about lunching it with 700bhp and 1000nm.
@@robj3857 yup I agree.... i have a 981S i love it on spirited but i hate the daily driving..lol.. im looking at s8 and rs7 now i need it for my business, i found that the 8 speed tip is much better during daily driving...and maybe also maybe more reliable of handling the high HP.... PDK costs around $14k to replace so something to think about....lol!!
Brilliant video Austin, I ran into your channel when you had just a few thousand subscribers and I knew instantly you would do well man. Keep up the good work. Oh and also.. The RS7 is the best all round car for me. My cousin has one and I feel like it is just perfect for anything you want to do!
I just got a 2015 RS7. Critical thing to mention shange oil often. Max 5000miles. My car is stil not drivable. And shange oil often. And shange oil often........
BEWARE! It has been proven that the idiots that were offering a "tune only" for those numbers had destroyed at LEAST 2 client's engines. Done "right" you need the proper hardware (but that's still inexpensive).
You k ow what makes the RS7 extra special Its the turbo oil filter screen that fries turbos or costs thousands to change every 30k miles…. Now that’s special
With corporations on a whole that operate like mobsters and crooks these days.. if something really works one year they make a better one or motor or transmission but with weaker parts. They want to keep changing parts not fix anything or make it better. Just keep your car in the shop.
im still confused on whether to pick the 2015 GTR, 2016 C63s AMG, or this 2014 RS7 for my second car, my first car is a new 2017 lexus rc 350 f sport, so i need power haha
The front is gorgeous, the rest falls apart for me, especially that hideous rear end and taillights. The new 2021 RS7 fixes that though and looks amazing.
All sedans regardless of manufacturer have the same amount of window left for passengers or the second row. It's a child safety law. They don't go down all the way so that in the event of a child sitting back there they are unable to get out or fall out via the window.
you do know that audi make these cars to have a lot more power than factory, they just dial it down for certain sales reasons and it has fuck all to do with the fact it simply cant handle it.
Sure keep drinking your koolaid. I only design engines at Toyota for a living but hey what do I know about cars right? PS I'm not an Audi hater -- I have a '17 Q7 and love it.
I'm getting an S7 and fuel economy is combined at 23mpg......might not be the track monster this rs7 but will be enough for me! great video btw

Audi/Porsche nailed the Grandcoupe.

How's the reliability on this car?
When I get stopped for speading I am going to tell him/her I was't speeding I was driving "dynamically".
Dynamic driving doesn't get you pulled over., you get a letter in the post.... When they finally catch up with you.
Great video! Thank you for the critical information about the wheels. I live in a state that gets quite a bit of snow in the winter.
Great vid man!
I drive my 2018 RS5 during the winter and use a second set of 19" rims and winter tires. When you pay $100,000 plus for a car it comes with the game.
well made review - great to hear pers. points from an owner
Awesome car. Stock sounds good but if I had your RS7 I would totally put on an aftermarket exhaust.
Thank you for the video.
Any plans to change to a newer version of RS7? Just curious. Cheers.

That bird tho at 4:17
tiptronic can manage more torque than dsg :) and that car can hit the 700hps

APR just lowered there pricing on tuning. It is only a 1/3 of what it used to be.
The same thing happens with the radio when I hit the defrost button for the rear glass on my MK6 Golf!
Radio won't work while rear window is heated coz of being DAB, try to set on FM and it should play well
Nice video mate. Enjoyed it thumbs 🖒
This car is the best daily ever awd is amazing
Good video, bro. Thanks for the info.
No problem 👍

Great video! but I personally think the outro song was a little loud compaired to the rest of the audio before.
You don't want dual clutch on a +600bhp car unless you don't care about it breaking somewhere around 40 to 60k milles

i have the same defroster-radio problem on my 06 ford focus, wow
such a beast car love the color .
What do you think about the STI
Anthony Peddle it sucks
Austin Campbell then blow up lolololol
What do you thing ? E63s 4matic (2017) or RS7 (2016) performance ? Thx
Hi what is the best tuner to get the most horsepower and tourqe out of my rs7?
ok thank you
can any1 tell me what is the name of song(intro)???
Drake One Dance
Sorry for late reply as no one bothered to reply or maybe they didn't listened this song
Damn. This is a 100,000+ car.
You k ow what makes the RS7 extra special
Its the turbo oil filter screen that fries turbos or costs thousands to change every 30k miles…. Now that’s special
Ours has 67,000 miles now and has never had to have any service other than oil and brake changes. Runs strong as ever.

you can buy 375/30/21 winter tire..
you can now but when the car first came out you couldn't
It's not the best if it have bad fuel economy...daily drive is not only about speed...
Austin Campbell yeah and the only way I can get them is botb😂😂😂
Austin Campbell but I kinda like the new Mercedes amg e63 s more but both car are great!
It has cylinder deactivation when ur driving normally it becomes a v4 it's pretty cool
It gets 27mpg highway. 8 speed transmission
It doesnt have the dual clutch from the S7 because it cant take the torque of the RS7's engine
i wouldn't dream of putting a tune on this car. I'll take reliability and longevity over shaving off a tenth or 2 on a 0-60 run.
If you’re 6’5 and complaining about lack of leg room, that’s your problem.
Great car but your comfort seats SUCK, who specifies those?!
worth $64k today.

is the maintenance cost as bad as what i think? this lexus thing isnt that expensive but as soon as i get this new one im gonna have to work :(
NonBiased-BiasedKKK ive found that audis are really reliable now a days only since the mid 2000s
Gonna have to work? Do you not have a job? Or are you to young?
dont get a gtr. rs7 and c63 sound much better. not to metion EVERYONE has a gtr. the rs7 is a true grand touring car with 605hp and super luxury
Who uses radio on 2021
why do people modify audi sport quattro automobiles its so dumb.
I mean I understand tuning them but beyond that idk
Most audis are pretty. But they're over produced with computers so there's always problems. For those problems they can rob you.
The front is gorgeous, the rest falls apart for me, especially that hideous rear end and taillights. The new 2021 RS7 fixes that though and looks amazing.
Guy audi rs7 2012
4,500 lb curb weight... WTF!!!
