I do hvac installation and service and I love the new Milwaukees. I prefer to use the 7in1s for the electrical of condensers and disconnect due to the lineman style pliers, while I love to use the 6in1s for things like thermostats, zone boards and any other smaller electrical parts where I can use the needle nose pliers to make precise bends to make my work neat.

Thanks for the review. I bought the Weicon 5 Pro pistol-style stripper (at a significanly higer price than the 5) because it claims to automatically adjust to different wire sizes. So far, it works fine. I now have every form of wire stripper known to man. I'll probably buy the next invention also. It's become a hobby for me. 😊

Most of tools from your list are two-hand operated stripping tools. Speaking about one hand operated you miss exactly few of the best: Wiha automatic wire stripper, Weicon nr.5 Pro, Knipex Precistrip or Weidmuller Stripax. If you try even one of those, your mentality about wire stripping will change forever. Of course, those are not tools for linemans electricians, but for domestic, comercial, electrical panel or instrumentations are ideals.
If somebody pass the price barrier he will not regret ever.
That Toughbuilt hawkbill looks verry good for dismantling big diameter cables.

I use the knipex knife daily and the quality is not bad, we use them for dismantling thick ground cables in Europe and for that they are excellent. The mantel is thick and tough I am pretty sure that is what they are designed for.

Might want to review the Knipex Ergostrip for those that haven't seen them, pretty handy for cables.

7 in one Milwaukees are great, I prefer the 6 in one tho. I do industrial, & between my Kleins (lineman) & those Milwaukee 6 in ones, I can’t think of any better combo!

Harbor Freight has a brand called Doyle, and they have wire strippers that are very similar to the Ideal brand you show in this video. I also have them and love them. I’m giving this comment to let you know that the Doyle brand does the 10 stranded. You might want to check into them. They are $19.99 regular price but they have specials all the time. Got mine for $18.00. The only difference I can tell from the Ideal is a little shorter, maybe half an inch to an inch. And it only has one crimped. Where the Ideal has a big and small crimped. But it does do 10 stranded.

Jokai nr.15 is the best for socket and lamp installations, I'm surprised you don't have it. Jokari have a coax striper also, it can be used for thin cables

I wanted to ask you, the FESA insulated hex key set, saying it's unavailable on Amazon, it was on eBay now it's not. Do you have any idea where I can find a set,
And if it will return , what are your thoughts?

I wish the knipex strippers were high leverage similar to the milwaukee bc I want to use the strippers to replace my linesman’s but I can’t bc it’s pretty hard to twist wires

You have more strippers than a red light district 😆. I'm a daily driver of forged and instalation strippers from knipex. I wanted the channellock version to work but I had 4 pairs that the handles slid off and even after epoxy or tape to try and keep them on. I wanted the needle nose tips but I'll stock to my current choices. One underrated stripper I've got in the last year ish is milwaukees new v notch strippers that are under 10 dollars. I've had a ton of v notch strippers and they all are mediocre these new milwaukee v notch strip as well as the good pairs. Plus they're tiny thin and fit in mpx to mp2x pouches without issues.

Can the Felo automatic wire stripper handle the clear coating over the insulation of individual wires inside a Romex cable?

The vde style always feel to thick when using, besides you can still work live with normal comfort grip, normally on low voltage it's fine

@AE I think the European version of the Knipex Forged Wire Strippers is exactly the same as the American, but just has European wire size labels. Or are the holes for stripping different sizes? Just thinking you could order the VDE from Europe, if they’re the same sizes with different labeling.

    • @americanelectrician

@@americanelectrician I'm having trouble finding an American to European wire size conversion chart, but I think the models are exactly the same, and just have different labeling for the sizes.
