Usually 9 times out of 10 the fire alarm goes off theres never a fire. But they go off anyway at times. I remember when the fire alarm went off at the SEPTA Regional Rail concourse at 30th street station. There was no fire and of course no one left the building.
@Tuber274 I think many of SEPTAs Subway stops have the Wheelock AS. I think there are some that do not have the AS along the Market Frankford and Maybe Broad Street line. And PATCO has the Edwards Integrety at the Walter Rand Transit Center. I know 30th street station has the Wheelock AS. Not 100% sure about 8th street.
I was on the Philly subway yesterday, and that is indeed an AS.

Usually if theres a real fire the staff knows about it. But with this case they figured it may have been a malfunction. Or a false alarm.
