- Learn how to rig your OC1 canoe.
Tippy? Stable? Button in/out? Button up/down? Kai Bartlett explains the rigging settings on his Kai Wa’a canoe designs (Ares OC1, Draco OC1 and Gemini OC2). - Спорт
Our dragon boat club just purchased one of your boats, a Gemini. First, its such a great boat! Light and fast. What I'm most impressed with is the brilliant but simple engineering of the steering cables and how you can disconnect and connect them so easily between the front and the back seats. Nice job!
Perfect video, just when I needed it.
You have a nice place to rig.... I am on a cement pier so it's trickier.
I'm curious if there's ever a reason to rig the Ama nose down (tippy up front) but more stable in the back or vise versa?
I wish I saw this video before scratching up my wa’a. 😂😂😂
I know the feeling, brother! When you see the right way you sort of go "duh!" that's obvious!
My ares have a rudder for weed, but I paddle mostly in flat water no weeds would a flat water rudder make it more faster and stable?
If you paddle mostly in flat water the Ares Flat Water rudder would be your best bet as it provides the least amt of drag and still allows proper maneuverability. No real difference in stability.
@@kealanibartlett1137 Thank you , just ordered a flat water rudder
I don't understand. A flat water rudder would be shorter--no need for depth in waves, no? So also good for weeds. I just have the rudder that came with it. Good for training and good for when I get in the waves.
Is it possible to use oc1 as surf ski without attaching outrig?
We wouldn't recommend it:)
Hey, Robert Norman has a few videos of himself paddling without the ama, but not for long@@kealanibartlett1137
I've see a person use a surfski with a single (outrigger style) paddle, but the OC-1 must be less stable that surfski for sure, without the ama.
