I really want to believe that there is an alternate universe where your neighbor has a lawn care channel and is constantly talking trash about the guy with all the cars on his lawn.
@@rodneyss19 Wait until she sees this weekends video! HA We actually have a great relationship with our neighbors that you can see in the videos, The white house the other side of the driveway is basically our adopted family. All 3 houses across the street we occasionally get together(the 5 houses in total) for BBQ. The lady at the end of the road has a ring camera and sends me the clips doing donuts in the culdesac :) Funny thing is, we aren't the rowdy household
My neighbors sit around their front windows waiting to see what I’m dragging home next. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been under a car to look up and have one of them saying “what’s the plan for this one.”
Things I appreciate about these videos: No plastic cover the size of a picnic table covering the entire engine. Being able to readily identify the basic engine pieces parts. Lack of globs of wiring emanating from sensors of unknown origin or purpose. Volvos. Thank You.
I couldn't agree more!!! These are the 14" Classic wheels which technically wouldn't have come on our silver 240's trim level from the factory. We FIRMLY believe they SHOULD HAVE! It looks sooo good!
You are absolutely right chuck! If the b230 is too challenging you can always go to a b18 pushrod motor. In car tear down and rebuild is an easy afternoon!
Good Job, I try to do a Motorcleaning before I take off Parts, less oily mess that way. You did one of the exhaustgasket wrongway(180degreas) I almost did the same thing a week ago. You can see it sticks out on cylinder 2 from firewall. Greetings from Volvoland(Sweden)
Hey Dean! Thanks for providing 240 entertainment! Always fun to watch. I was hoping for some drama and broken studs but this wagon is so cleeen. What a gem!
Thank you Marcin! I prefer LESS drama in this situation HAHA. It was two days of work to get it torn down and put back together so I can make it to my job!
Id love the weekend turbo swap!!! And I just did a brand new headgasket at 2 valve covers (first one was over torqued). Need to do a rear cam seal still. And finish the pedal on my 740 so I can drive it around (just did manual swap)
Gonna swap my cam out in the near future. Been a while since I've dug in this deep though. Fun stuff. And I don't know if I've ever seen one of the clutch fans fail 😳. Fun video 👍.
I’m enjoying the video! Are you going to swap the cam as well as turbo it? I’ve got a T cam in my dd 240 and a VX waiting for my project 240 for the future.😊

I think about that all the time. My yard is full of cars and Im the one complaining…
Haha... we were watching the video a few weeks ago showing all the cars and my wife out of nowhere says.. "I bet their neighbors really love them"

@@just.a.realtor Yeah that can be annoying. Thankfully that's not yet an issue.
Dean Of Machines.....living the Volvo dream
One redblock at a time!

Very simple little cars! The best!
Your lawn care enthusiasts are hard at it.
I miss how simple redblocks are to work on.
It’s probably the easiest headgasket of any 4 cylinder I’ve ever worked on.
Also, these guys just dont give up. The video was filmed over 2 days and it was incredible how often they run around here
The 2.3 Ford Lima Head gasket in my Turbo Coupe was easier than the one in my gold 940.
Good job Dean, I love the silver wagon, looks like my 92
Thanks man! Its a real nice car!
The lawn care is strong in your neighborhood. ACK!
Sometimes its just unbelievable. My neighborhood isn’t even that tightly packed
Glad I got to see the 122 on the road..😅😅
Bout damn time i brought it home. Have a decent parts pile to throw at it and Im ready to pull it in the garage now that the silver 240 is situated!
245's are THE BEST ! Luv them wheels you got, those are factory originals.
I couldn't agree more!!! These are the 14" Classic wheels which technically wouldn't have come on our silver 240's trim level from the factory. We FIRMLY believe they SHOULD HAVE! It looks sooo good!
Those old 4-cylinder RWD Volvos are insanely easy to work on... I'd trade my '07 S40 for one in a heartbeat. Miss my '89 760 wagon.

Well, I would LOVE to see you do a turbo install.
You and me both!!

Thats a great eye! If you can believe it, that gasket failed and I had to replace it.

“Just believe me…I’m on the internet” hahaha. Regardless, we believe in The Dean
In Dean we trust!
Also, we have started referring to our lawn cutting neighbors as lawn care enthusiasts since we started watching your videos. 😂
Theres a Secret Order of Lawncare Enthusiasts out to ruin each of my videos. Im sure of it!!!
Yikes, didn't know I needed the copper stuff for my headgasket... Hope all goes well under the boost I'm running
Might be fine!

I actually cracked this valve cover later on. over torqued trying to get it to stop leaking.

Hahaha! That tesla comment cut me deep!
I was hoping youd catch it! I heard it somewhere and it cracked me up

Thanks Jo! It's funny how you can forget you know how to do things this deep in a motor.
I’ve never seen a fan clutch lock up like that. Normally, they just free wheel for quite some time after the engine shuts off.
A weekend turbo swap would give you months of content. Smart play.
Thats how the red wagon went to hell LOL
I'll do my PCV box now that the videos over
Excellent! Thanks for sticking around I know its a long one.
@@DeanofMachines I love the longer content and everything else in between
Thanks for the work of sharing.
Its a lottta work! But weve got it done!!
Lawn care ASMR hahahaha
that engine sure runs smooth, mine shakes a bit.
Do you know what your fuel pressure is? Should be nice and smooth with fresh plugs and bosch ignition components
Thanks you a lot for nice videos !!👌👌
I’m happy to share!! Thank you for enjoying my content!!
Great audio on this video. Semi-amsrish
We strive for the best around here. 😂
I need to do new motor mounts as well, they have all the wobble in the world
Do the redblock shake! *rocks back and forth*
I can spot those jiffy lube oil filters from anywhere 😂
They are just the worst lol
What’s the vacuum like (around the 20 min mark) connect to? Gathering parts for a head gasket swap on my ‘90 B230 and want to have everything on hand.
Hey there, im not sure which you are talking about. Could you get a screenshot and email it to me? Info@deanofmachines.com
Not a huge turbo fan, but if it means a possibility of you breaking stuff, I'm all for it. Edit: Snow scooters.
I’m hoping I can avoid breaking stuff
Where did you get those rims from I been trying to find them for years
They are just a set of oem classic mesh wheels
u live in the loudest suburb in the world LMFAO
Maaannnn you don’t even know! There is soo much noise here it’s insane!
@@DeanofMachines i feel ya man. i live in east raleigh NC, any hour of the night there’s a VQ owner trumpeting down the highway

Hi there! I would definitely swap to a T cam when I turbo it. 240s are the best!
@@DeanofMachines they sure are! I absolutely love these cars! Great channel brother!
@@sonofliam8601 thanks watching!
turbo it that be cool.
I think you’re right!!! How big of a turbo? 13c? 16t?
Why not just change the cam seal. Where is the hole in the headgasket that allows oil pressure to the head, was that where the oil was leaking from?
Coolant was leaking from the headgasket
