I’ve been going back and forth on the Streakfly. It’s mostly been compared to the Takumi Sen 8 with the Sen 8 generally winning those opinion battles. This is a great comparison I’ve not seen before so thanks!
The Streakfly really impressed me on my first 5k race with them 2 weeks back. New PR of 19:43. Dropped off 26 seconds compared to my last race. I am moving my Saucony endorphin pro 2 to anything over a 5k race and keeping the streaks for the short stuff. That is what I think will be best for me. I use the saucony endorphin speed 2 for fast training days and a host of others for daily training, NB 880v11, Nike peg 38, Hoka Clifton 8. They all have their place.
In the conclusion, you should show a table at the end comparing the categories you have just been through and show which shoes are better. But overall a great video
Well, still like to drop in on shoe reviews but, as you know Tim, I have a large assortment of running shoes! I have the Rebel V2 and will be enjoying that for some time to come. Thanks for the review. I am back in action again. Did a 3 miler without any knee pain. Sure felt good to be pain free again 🙂
They're soft for comfort so can go long, can go fast when needed and the toe box is roomy and the mesh is breathable. Awesome shoe one of my favorites.
Rebel V2 crashes in on the medial side too much. So anyone with any amount of pronation issues will start to experience issues if they use this shoe too often or too far in a particular run. I think the StreakFly counters this with the mid foot shank providing just enough medial/lateral stability. And then ZoomX is always a winner. If I didn't have a fairly large stable of shoes, I'd probably use the Rebel V2 more often for short tempo runs, but I have so many better options...
Hey Tim. Thanks for keeping the conversation going. I appreciate you taking the time to share you thoughts and experience. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
Thanks for the video , Tim. I currently use the rebel v3 as a daily trainer, I do not use it for long runs. I prefer supershoes for longruns. Would the streakfly work as a daily trainer? I'm thinking up to 10 miles, maybe for 14..
Hey thanks for the question. I like the Streakfly for shorter distances. They work great for doing speed work, 5K races up to 10K. They start to feel less comfortable past 10K so around that 6 to 8 mile range. 10 miles for me would be stretching it. The amount of cushion just isn't there for me for those distances. Have a great day. Thanks for the question.
Hi Tim! I live in Brazil. I'm a fan of the page.. I've watched a lot of videos. Help me here:At the end of last year I had ITBS (ilotibial syndrome). I think it was because I was running with the Rebel 2. The only shoe I had.i used for everything. I have a pronation. More on the left leg. So i guess i should Go for the steady shoes, right!? The problem is that i don’t like them very much. Tô heavy, bulky, and slow. And boy i just loved the rebel2 . What a feeling! running has never felt so good. I'm thinking about buying the Rebel 3. But I don't know if I should. My question is: For the first time I'm going to do a rotation. I thought about rebel3 but I'm scared.ITBS made me stop for 45 days. So I thought of a speed3 for training and the NB SC elite3 for race in the hope that it would be similar to the rebel and i could still feel that sensation again, at least in the race days. but I also read a lot about Endorphin pro3 or adidas pro3 or takumi s9... I'm really in doubt. could you help me with the rotation. My run is 4:45 per Km and my trainings are HIT and runs from 5 to 15k. My races are 5k and 10k. what do you suggest me?
Hi Leonardo. First, I’m sorry to hear that you are dealing with that issue. I had the same thing a couple years ago that required I go through physical therapy and was off 3 months before starting back again. I hope all is well for you now. I severely over pronate and have used stability shoes with good results in the past. That’s something to consider. If you have a running shoe store near you they should e able to analyze your gait and make recommendations. Something you can try at very little cost is to pick up a set of inserts with arch support that you can move from shoe to shoe. Running shoes with removable insoles work best if you want to swamp them out. I also love the Rebel V2. I think the Rebel V3 might suit you a little better than v2 because they little more stable. If you are okay switching up than I think the ASICS Novablast 3 is a great choice. It’s more stable that the Rebel V2 & V3. They are highly cushioned and fun to run in. You can use them for pretty much everything. They are good for easy runs, speed work, and long runs. I do like the adios Pro 3 a lot. I did have a few issues in the beginning with some pain points at the start of the eyelet chain but I was able to work that out. Thanks for the question. Have fun shoe shopping! Let me know what you go with. Have a great weekend.
Hi Tim! Thanks for the help. Yesterday I walked around my city looking for a place to try shoes. I managed to test novablast 3, metaspeed sky+ , edge, magic speed, adidas pro3, takumi sen 9, vaporifly next%2, NB SC elite v3, NB Rebel 3. I tested them all on the treadmills in the stores. for a short time.. I think for about 3 minutes each. Now I ask you: how to break up with a girl you love? that's how I feel about Rebel 2. I know I need to let go of it but I don't find anything like it. the Rebel 3 is similar...I found it more stable but less jumpy. The novablast was what gave me the most security and it's similar to the jump forward in rebel 2. I just thought it was too heavy and big. I didn't like the other asics, nor the adidas. I also liked the Next%2 and the NB SC Elite v3. Nike is more responsive, very light and seems to be faster. the SC Elite feels more bouncy and softer. Also fast, but not as fast as Nike. Which one would you say is more stable? The SC Elite reminded me a lot of that Rebel 2 feeling, that some how joy on the run. but i dont know if they are stable enough. And I couldn't test the SC Trainer or the RC tô compare. Any big difference between them? I still haven't found Saucony speed3 and Pro3. I will try today. Tim, what would be the ideal rotation for me? A Next or SC Elite? and for long? Do I try novablast3 even though I find it heavy? I'm very doubtful!! Hugs to you..have a great week.
Hi Tim! Me again! After try almost all shoes i got my eyes on it, i‘m thinking on buy NB SC elite v3 for my 5k and 10k races and to do some training too. And i’m between Novablast 3 and speed 3 for daily trainings. As i said i like novablast 3. They run similar than rebel when it comes to bouncy and fun. I realize that i’m a fuel cell addicted now. This foam is, very softy, bouncy but at the same time, very responsive. And boy…It makes soooo fun to run in it. And this coming from a guy that has never give NB a chance until rebel 2 last year. I tought of buying SC for race and Rebel3 for training. But i’m afraid because of the ITBS so that’s why i’m thinking on the rotation with SC and Novablast3. What do you think? And about the speed3? Is the only one i didn’t try yet. It’s very difficult to find a store that sells saucony here in Brasil. And the ones who does only has the kinvara models. Everybody is saying lots of good things about speed 3. Do you think speed 3 is better than novablast 3? Or better question: do you think, knowing my preferences for “fuel cell way of run” and taking in account the stability issue, that speed 3 would suit me better? Tim, thanks again for your tremendous help, and sorry about the long texts.
Hi Leonardo. The Endorphin Speed series is a great shoe. I loved the first version and ran the miles up on them. I haven’t had the opportunity to run in the Speed V3. The Speed isn’t as cushioned but is stable and lightweight. I’d go for the Novablast 3 personally. It is lightweight, cushioned, stable, and fun to run in. I’ve been running in them again recently and really enjoy them. Have a great day!
Hi Kayleigh. I think the Pegasus 39 might work for you. I think you could wear them to the gym as well as log lots of miles in them. Do you have a go to pair of shoes that you use now? Have a great day.
I think so too. The Next% 2 carbon fiber plate is much stiffer and has more pop off your midfoot and toe off that I think will help keep your pace up throughout the 10K. I do think the Streakfly has the advantage in a 5K. They are lighter with a good about of energy return but are more stable. Have a great day and stay safe.
@@RunTall thanks for your reply. I think the Vaporfly is a much more versatile pair and with some discounts it is more bang for buck vs the Streakfly which is only superior in the 5K. And even then, I still set a PB in my Vaporfly.
They Rebel V2 was my top pick as a daily trainer last year for the fun factor! I’m looking forward to the Rebel V3. Mine are on back order 🙁. Hopefully they will ship soon. Have a great day!
Hi Melissa. My best guess is that the Rebel V2 is going to out last the Streakfly. I'm thinking the Rebel V2 will go around 360 miles while I don't expect the Streakfly to go much past 200 miles. That's my best guess.
Hi Harvey. They are a little on the pricey side for sure. Because of all the sales Nike has going on right now you can pick up the Next% 2 or the original AlphaFly at about a 25% discount. Have a great day and stay safe.
I’ve been going back and forth on the Streakfly. It’s mostly been compared to the Takumi Sen 8 with the Sen 8 generally winning those opinion battles. This is a great comparison I’ve not seen before so thanks!
Hey thanks Gary. I'm really enjoying them. I'll be running my next 5K in the Streakfly. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
This is the comparison I’ve been waiting for. Great insight. Thnx Tim
No problem. I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
You are just truly amazing at this keep it up
Thanks Justin. I appreciate it. Glad you liked the video. Have a great day and stay safe.

That’s great to hear! I’m glad they are holding up for you. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
I returned it to get rocket X.. Which is obviously stiffer, but handles longer distances better. Hoping Rebel v3 has an extra 5mm in the forefoot!

How about this two compare to the skechers gorun razor + because this shoe also is similar to these two
