But my issue I'm having, is when I use the DP on the monitor to connect to my 4090, the monitor doesnt see my computer. Is there anything special I have to do to get it to work? Please ideals.
Hmm thats an odd issue, but reading your comment "forced to use a DP" you shouldn't want to use an HDMI over a display port. At least at the moment, until HDMI can at least have the bandwidth of a DP 1.4. You'd be losing performance for sure, haven't really had much use of the newer 4k gpus so hopefully someone comments here so I can learn how this issue got resolved as well. @@MrZX1409 the g9 doesn't have built in speakers. I use Klipsch "the fives" as external and I bluetooth to them. In audio settings. Change output to whatever external you are using. The LG with built in speakers automatically are set as default that's why it works, it's all audio settings buddy, also could try updating audio drivers as well on your pc

Question for you, I've ordered the new MacBook Pro M2 Max with 12‑core CPU, 38‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine and was wondering if it will be able to run on this monitor or even neo 49.
You won't be able to get the full resolution + refresh rate on the G9 on any currently available Mac laptop that im aware of You could do USB-C to HDMI & DP for each side but it will need to be in Picture by Picture (PBP) mode which has its own limitations. Displayport to USB-C should get you 5120x1440@120hz on the single cable (make sure whatever adapter you get lists DisplayPort 1.4), which should be better than whatever you're getting on HDMI,
Hi mate, I am banging my head against the walls here. Nvidia shows 5120x1440, 240 Hz, Monitor menu on info shows the same .. Win 11 native says 2560x1440. If I switch to 120 hs, All is fine with 5120x1440, including Win 11... I cannot figure this out ... Please help! I have an 8K DP cable. It used to work fine ... all in 240 .. after windows fresh Install, it will not work anymore.
I have an rtx 3080 ti asus rog strix g17 laptop 2022 that only has hmdi port. How can I get the 240hz on my samsung Odyssey lc32 g7 2022? There's no display port plug in the laptop so is there a tested hdmi to display port adapter that will 100% work with my setup ?
Good vid man.. Any reason why my refresh rate is greyed out (I can't even select it) on the G9 Monitor and on my Windows 11 NVIDIA control panel will only allow me to scroll to 60hz? I wish I could send Screen Shots.. I am running a NVIDIA 2070 and I get 240 RFR on my laptop but not this monitor.
Hmm I'm thinking it's maybe the aspect 2070 is a 1080 graphics card, try changing it to not 32x9 and see if you get the 240 option, if that's the case then it should answer your question, the g9 is a 1440 monitor at 240 fps
Thanks for the comments guys… I utilized all the cables that came with the monitor so every cable should have been capable enough to work. Also, I spoke with multiple Samsung technicians, all to find out that it was because my laptop only supported HDMI port. So I attempted to purchase a Hz compatible male HDMI to a female Display adapter (which one of the technicians agreed it would work) but the monitor still would not utilize the Display cable and ONLY utilized the on board HDMI connection. But I was confused because the HDMI should have at least given me the 144Hz instead of the 60Hz. Another problem was my laptop was not seeing my graphics card for the monitor and only saw the onboard card which would only give me 60Hz for the monitor, but 240 Hz for the laptop due to the laptop recognizing the graphics card. Also, one of the technicians mentioned that it was because I did not have a G Sync option in the NVIDIA control panel as well. So I even reached out to a Nvidia technician and they said there’s no way for me to designate the graphics card as primary so the monitor would recognize it.. So anyway… With all that said and with all the latency and the lag on the 2070 card, I just decided to bite the bullet and I purchased Asus X790 with a MSI RTX 4090 Slim and now the monitor works great but only when I turn off G Sync as I do not have Free sync or a G sync in this NVIDIA control panel either. This is why I believe that the RTX 2070 was not strong enough or compatible to give anything but a 60 Hz. I believe personally that you need at least a 30 series RTX card for the Odyssey Neo 9G to work.
@GENNARK yes I was running a 3060ti when I bought the monitor that's what I meant earlier with the 2070 not being optimal but glad you got it figured out, a 4090 is a beast
@CubanFury98 no i can't remember where I downloaded it, wasn't steam though, it's like a library for wallpapers, I'd try just typing it in chrome or whatever browser you use, app is safe
Haha jk you won't be able to run full spec at 240 htz, or maybe at all.. the only way I think is if you run your resolution at 1080p or lower that's the only way you'll get the 240 on a console. That's my best guess hope that helps
I'm ordering one off of Amazon. I will let you know. I found out the instructions said you only get 1440hz (at best) with HDMI cable. interesting they don't tell you that little sweetheart before you purchase the monitor. I have never in my life had so much problems with a monitor.
Do you have a solution for THE FUCKING STANDBY MODE? Everything i turn my pc off that shit goes ot standy mode and then in the morning i can't get it to wake up i have to replug all cables turn pc on and off few times before it works...
Actually no, I do have the problem every now and again, when I turn my pc on the monitor doesn't turn on its just flashes blue light at bottom. Kinda annoying
This might be what you mean, but I don't ever have to unplug anything I just press my power on my pc, not actually turning it off, and wait a second and push it again and it works.
@@HadeZStudios whats your graphic card? i heard for mine in particular a BIOS update came out that could fix the standy mode issue apparently, haven't tried yet but will soon.
I have a 3080 with a Ryzen 9. I'm using the display port cable the Neo G9 came with. My control panel and Adv display don't show 240hz as an option. I was running a 4k 175hz Oled from LG before but, I can't get above 120hz on this.
@Yigit Ebiller You have do the monitor settings to 240hz while the Nvidia control panel is up at the same time or it will bug out. Nvidia control panel will finally pop up the 240hz once you turn it on the monitor.
@@HadeZStudios Right but are you happy overall or do feel like you need a better gpu. For me I know, I want something better because it’s not smooth when a lot is going on in the screen. Just trying to get an idea if I want to upgrade to 3060ti or need to go beyond that
@ynnguyen I'm happy with it for sure I can do ultra settings on games like warzone no problem and at 32x9 5120x1440 i can maintain over 100 fps . I would like a 3080ti honestly though, I do music, and visualizers on this channel as well, would maybe help with rendering speeds, I'd say honestly if I was you from a 2080 go up to a 3070ti you'll be very well off

I'm buying one soon. Do you know what ports it uses and if the free sync/g-sync would work with a 3090? My GPU has the same ports as your 4080.
Do you have any tips to get the better resolution using a MacBook Pro. It only has a native 60Hz Apple own graphic card.Thank you 🙏
I'm honestly not familiar with anything Apple I get these questions allot and it looks like I might dig In a little research.. sorry I can't help be on lookout for future vids
Do all g9’s have capabilities to reach 240hz? I’ve seen Samsung promote a 240hz, 120hz and a 144hz version… I’m confused af now
To my understanding a g9 is a g9, and should all do the same things besides the neo. And the major only difference is mini LED
Still cant manage to do it, I can only get 240 hertz on 3840x1080 not 5120x1440, running Titan XP, which has DP 1.4 and the regular DP cable that came with the monitor which is obviously a 1.4 cable.... unless they lied to me...
Wouldn't displayport 2.1 be better than 1.4?
Video is older man, so yes 2.1 offers triple the bandwidth of 1.4 at the time all that was offered was 1.2 and 1.4.. so yes you'd be correct thanks for commenting people will see this and opt for the new one 1.4 is the minimum now 👍
@@HadeZStudios my bad, new to this stuff.
Is the display port samsung gives you good enough? I also have to figure out why hdr is grayed out/unable to turn on.
I have this same monitor and I was forced to use the DP port because my HDMI port on my monitor messed up to the point it won't receive the HDMI cable.
Hopefully it gets resolved buddy
I contacted Samsung and they will be sending a tech out to check my monitor. I do have another question; I used the same dp cable that came with the monitor and connected to my LG 43" monitor, and it worked but I could only get audio out of the monitor speakers only and not through my external speakers and it wasn't even a way to change settings in the computer sound settings. Do you use external speakers and if so how did you get the sound to play through them? @@HadeZStudios
@@MrZX1409 the g9 doesn't have built in speakers. I use Klipsch "the fives" as external and I bluetooth to them. In audio settings. Change output to whatever external you are using. If you bluetooth to a device it should pop up as such. The LG with built in speakers automatically are set as default that's why it works, it's all audio settings buddy, also could try updating audio drivers as well on your pc
Thank you I was wondering why I couldn’t get 240z I am using a hdmi. Last question doesn’t the monitor come with a display port as well wire?😊
It should have came with a display port 1.4 in the box yes
@@HadeZStudios yeah it did thank u I finish setting it up
Awesome news welcome to the club 😎
Does the 1.4 or 2.1 work the same
what if i don't have Nvidia, how do i get it on mac sonama? already searched internet alot of people have this issue.
My display is flickering pixel almost ebery 20 seconds .. like windows will open a window ..
Thanks for this. I have a 4090 and a samsung g9. For some reason when I plug in the displayport cable I'm not getting signals. Have you ever come across this issue? Any recommendations to fix this?
I have problems with that sometimes I have to push my pc power button once to standby then push it again for monitor to come on makes no sense, I'm gonna a video reviewing the g9 here soon
I'm having the same problem, I just asked this question on here. What did you do to resolve your issue?
i dont even have settings for 240hz but in here as you say i have on 240hz and when change resolution and give on 240hz i gor black bars
That's a new one

Hi, I bought a MSI Katana laptop but it doesnt have a display port in it, how can I make my G9 display 240hz ? I cant find a HDMI to DP1.4 cable

not a problem buddy it seems to work for some people and not for others
Hi dude.. thank you for the like ... an actual solution... if you know one would have been better rather than the like :)

You'll have to drop your resolution to 1080p only way your getting 240 on hdmi even with a 2.1 cable
Hdmi to display port adapter works
How I get 240hz with 7680x2160 ?
HELL YEAH MAN!!!

Sheesh I thought hdmi 2.1 had higher bandwidth than dp 1.4... thanks, gonna go buy another 20euro cable 😓

Спасибо Друг!
On mine it won’t let me change refresh rate and other options y is this ?
bro what to do when i have 4090 but not nividia but some other brand plz give a soluction
Whatever brand gpu you have should have some sort of control panel application.
@@HadeZStudios ooooo with the same settings done can get the same fps
Also make sure your running a display port 1.4 a 1.2 won't work for optimal performance and not sure if a 2070 supports dp 1.4 🤔
This is why people on consoles get black bars because no display port on ps5, and they can run 32x9 but it just zooms in like crazy..
Why don’t I have that stuff on my nvidia control panel?
Update maybe? Lol

I have a Mac mini M1 base model with thunderbolt ports. I also have a Samsung G9 monitor can someone please recommend a good cable?
What Screensaver is that??? I wanttttttt
Can't tell you all my secrets
I have a 1.4 DisplayPort cable and the monitor but it still only caps at 120 after doing all the settings now what do I do
What's your graphics card and are you sure
But What if u have an Xbox Series x and not an pc?
Throw it in the trash lolol
Haha jk you won't be able to run full spec at 240 htz, or maybe at all.. the only way I think is if you run your resolution at 1080p or lower that's the only way you'll get the 240 on a console. That's my best guess hope that helps
Got the same monitor, except my laptop doesn't have display port. Can I use an adapter?
I'm ordering one off of Amazon. I will let you know. I found out the instructions said you only get 1440hz (at best) with HDMI cable. interesting they don't tell you that little sweetheart before you purchase the monitor. I have never in my life had so much problems with a monitor.
@@tekguru6213 From what I can tell, in my case, it will be capped at 60hz if we want the monitor's full rez, adapter or not.
@@HadeZStudios I used a HDMI no issues anymore so there's clearly a display port issue, hopefully that BIOS update fixes it soon.

You probably have the 120hz version…
@Anthony Baez Nope it's 240hz. I fixed it. Samsung just wanted to be a pain in the rear.
how did you do it to 240 hz i have the same problem it cant get above 120 hz
@Yigit Ebiller You have do the monitor settings to 240hz while the Nvidia control panel is up at the same time or it will bug out. Nvidia control panel will finally pop up the 240hz once you turn it on the monitor.

So does the cable that come with it not allow you to do 240 Hz because mine came with all the cables but it’s only allowing me to do 120 Hz
It works with the Displayport cable that comes with.
The cable that comes with it, is a DP 1.4. So yes it can do 240 htz...all depends on your graphics card as well and what resolution you are using. 3060ti is the minimum needed for this monitor, 3060ti is a 1440p gpu
Why are there so many ppl with macbooks here? This is a monitore meant for gaming. If youre gaming on a macbook you made the wrong choices 😂
