  • Mark Cousins introduces Michael Cimino's 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot' for BBC2's Moviedrome.
Thanks to Luke Meadley and Kaprisky for the video.
REQUEST: if anyone has the Alex Cox introduction(s) to 'Point Blank' and 'The Long Goodbye' for BBC2's The Film Club; and/or Mark Cousins' intro for 'Eyes without a Face' for the Forbidden Season, could you please upload or get in touch. Thank you.

    Agree with the commentator's conclusions.
There's an Amazon review of this movie that tears it apart for being "SO GAY", and wonders why no one else is willing to just come out and say that. I suppose I can see how someone might interpret it that way, but I think that's looking too deep. I think the simplicity of the movie is the whole point, and the important parts are there for the taking, not meant to be overthought.
It's a slice of Americana coming out of Vietnam, and a damn good one. Caper/Buddy/Road movie that excels on all 3 levels. Enjoy it for what it was meant to be.

Road runner cartoon quality. Errr, it was the 70’s and the LSD had a significant effects on many.
