Hello, lost the light gray cone shaped thing that allows new cartridge to screw in. Is there anything else I can use?
I have one that I’ve been using for a few months now. I used soap to clean it every few uses. Now I have little dots of what appears to be rust at the bottom. I’ve tried to clean it with water, a bristle brush, vinegar and baking soda. Nothing seems to work - is this normal or covered under the warranty? Thanks in advance.
I filled mine and inserted a cartridge and it made a very loud sound and started leaking around the neck! Did I overfill it?
Does this create more carbonation than soda stream?
Should I fill to the brim or leave room for the gas? There is a measuring tube in mine to insert but not sure if I fill to the bottom of that to leave room or the top of it which is the brim of the syphon itself
Hi, please insert the measuring tube befor you fill in the water and stop a few centimeters before the water reaches the top of it. With the tube inserted, the syphon will run over, if you overfill it :)
The instruction say to shake before removing the cartridge. Wouldn't the shaking force some of the water/gas back into the puncture cartridge? Should I remove the empty cartridge before shaking?
Hi, yes, please shake the Siphon a few times before your remove the charger. The water/gas will not be forced back into the charger: by shaking you'll mix the gas and the water almost instantly together and our valve, which pierces the charger, only works "one way" :)
For how long does the co2 inside the cartridge can still be used? Do i have to use a new cartridge per soda?
Hi, you need one charger per filling (= 1 L)
Just reanimated my Isi Soda Siphon. Used chilled water and screwed on a CO2 cartridge. As soon as I screw it in, a lot of pressure „explodes“ instantly out of the pourer/spout. After that it‘s possible to get water out by pressing the lever, but the water isn‘t fizzy at all. Is there any part that I need to replace? Looks like some seal in the head is not able to withstand the pressure. Thanks!
Hi, did you insert the measuring tube correctly? Please don't fill the bottle without having first inserted the measuring tube. The measuring tube must sit securely in the bottle neck. The bottle is full when the water starts to spill out of the measuring tube.
Also try to shake the whipper a min. of 6 times. If the water is cold when poured in and the siphon is kept in a cool place, then the soda water will be particularly fizzy.
x2, that's exactly what i have encountered as well, i have bought the Siphon recently and have used less than 10 chargers, build quality like this is VERY disappointing.
I watched another siphon video and he added a second CO2 cartridge before using the water, is the second one necessary? Or is the 2nd cartridge just to add more CO2 to the water? Wouldn't the second one add to much pressure to the bottle?
Dear Tonya - no, the 2nd charger is not necessary. Please use our siphons always according to our instruction manual: 1 Charger for one filling. Anyways, it would not make any difference to the sparkling using 2 chargers, since 1 L water is not able to absorb more CO2 as one charger contains. It is far more effecient to use cold water (~ 4°C) and to shake the siphon if you want to have rellay fizzy soda.
I just bought it hoping I could make fizzy soda, but the soda is mild at best. Should I use two chargers? Or does the machine just not make fizzy soda?

Is there a good technique for removing the inner plastic ring and gasket for cleaning? I always have a hard time pushing my finger in and pulling like crazy.

I used a knife blunt end and turn and pull u might have try few knifes for correct size
I've seen a few bartenders using a siphon that looks exactly like this one to make cocktail foams. Can I use a n2o cartdrige on this one and use it to make foams?

my question to you is what happens if you fill this with seltzer water instead of tap water any ideas?

Do the cartridges have a deposit? So instead of you being responsible for recycling the entire box, the company refills/reseals them and gives you the fresh box cheaper if you have empties? Like it used to be in the 80s in Europe?
Dear nikkoboka, no, we do not have such a service, but the chargers are 100% recycleable, if you deposit it correctly into the thrash metal.

I just got my siphon and it doesn't work after doing all of the steps in the instructions. The co2 blows past the seal meant to hold it in while charging the bottle.Oh well...Back to Amazon because I would rather buy bottled seltzer bottle than spend $1 a piece for cartridges doing nothing. At least the store water has some fizz.

Hi, excuse us for the late answer. If you cannot unscrew the head of you iSi Siphon: First release the pressure: Place the whipper with the head upwards and hold a towel over the outlet. Activate the lever until the iSi Whipper is no longer under pressure. Now the head can be removed from the bottle. If the head still cannot be removed, please contact iSi or your service center.
I have 6 cartridges that are six years old. The expiration date says 2018.can I still use them in 2021? Thanks
It's just CO2, won't go bad like forever, no problem at all, the expiration date are more for regulations rather than food safety.

It means, that the siphon has to be shaken at least 6 times before dispensing the soda.

Can I use the nitrogen charger in it or only soda charger ?
Hi, please use only original iSi Soda Charger! Despite the fact, that the Nitro Charger do not fit into the charger holder of the soda products, the soda chargers are filled with a completely different gas :) Please only use original iSi Soda Chargers in our Soda Siphons!

@@Kabsati No, the Nitro Chargers do only fit into the Nitro System! We designed it this way because of safety reasons: the pressure in Nitro Chargers is much higher than the pressure in our other chargers. Your safety is our first priority, therefor we developed a completey new and safe system to create Nitro Drinks.
Also, if you would carbonate water with Nitro (or if you would try to make Nitro Drinks with Soda Chargers), you won't be happy with the results of taste and the optical effect. Our Nitro chargers are filled with pure N2 and our Soda Charegrs with pure CO2: the two gases have completely different characteristics.

the iSi Soda Siphon is so impressively FRAGILE !
i followed exactly the instructions manual / the video showing here, it works normally for a few chargers ( but the sparklings are just way way less than what you can get from bottled soda water ), and each time i used exactly 1 charger per the manual have specified. BUT now, whenever i screwed on the charger, it will EXPLODES and flush out water by itself from the nozzle. then it can somehow retain only a portion of the pressure inside, more than half of the bottle of water just don't get enough pressure to be pushed out.
I just had the same issue with my brand new Siphon. After a few trys I figured out the issue was that I put too much water to the bottle - put it full. I measured exactly 1 Liter water to the bottle and I have no more issues. If you havent threw your siphon away yet, give it a try.
Hi. I have purchased this and it does not give a lot of fizz. I made everything cold as instructed but no change... is this made for semi- sparkling?

Never as fizzy as bottled water I just use bottled water and put in the syphon save all the bits left or use two litres bottles
If you want real fizzy buy a Sodastream cheep oneswork just as well Lakeland stock them and gas I get my whiskey from any supermarket

There is no place that tells you how much water to pour in. I bought this thing and I am so disappointed, you could at least indicate it in your brochure. I'll bring that thing back to the shop

we bought this in Hongkong, about 3 weeks ago we asked the seller to replace/repair the malfunction Siphon Head. we waited. a few days ( last Sat, 2022-05-21 ) we got the so-called replacement, claimed to be new and given by the Hongkong dealer "Matfer Bourgeat Hong Kong Limited". we just tried, and it is just WORSE, and EXPLODE harder than before. i can't help to doubt that either the seller in Hongkong or the Hongkong dealer is just holding the same head for a few weeks and throw it back to me.
the iSi Soda Siphon is simply annoying and disappointing at best, if not dangerous.
1. Do not add music to any cooking, demo, DIY, tour, animal channel. It obstructs learning, enjoyment, and subscription.
2. Good demo, but does not answer one question: Can you refill the siphon with more cold water after initial use and make the cartridge last longer than the one refill?
If the cartridge is only good for a single use of one liter bottle, then it costs $1 for that soda, and that is more expensive than bottled soda water at $0.80 cents. This is my dilemma. I know that with whipped cream you can only use it for one load so better get the largest bottle you can. Not only one load but refill only half the bottle. No one tells you that.
