  • UPM Grada Thermo-formable Plywood!
    This plywood is revolutionary! It is the biggest development in the plywood industry since the 1960s. For decades plywood has just been a very stable, rigid and flat sheet material, now with UPM Grada you’re able to heat up a sheet and bend it into any position you like! This has completely changed the furniture production industry, the main traditional process used for curved components in furniture is bent lamination. This is very time consuming since you have to machine many thin layers of veneer, grade them, mix glue, apply the glue and layer up the veneers to be pressed. But now with UPM Grada it takes all those processes away, you simply heat the panel and bend it into shape!

    Hi
    Fascinating product, but it seems limited to the size of oven available to you, determining the size of plywood you can bend.
    Such a pity
    Robert

    Awesome, not heard of this stuff before anything I’ve done with bent ply in the past has been a massive faff! I’ve got a James Latham down the road from me in Fareham so might see if they can sort some out for me to try :)

    • @SeanEvelegh
      @SeanEvelegh  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Dylan, They use large heat presses. I'm sure there's video on UA-cam or their website, if you type in UPM Grada.
