I saw Talking Heads with this same lineup on October 20th 1980 at the Hollywood Palladium, in California. The English Beat also played that night. This was the best lineup of the band with Adrian Belew on guitar. The set list was similar to this but much longer with 14 songs ending with a the Great Curve. Too bad there is not more video of this band from this time period. This was their peak. The set list on this video is incomplete and should include the Great Curve starting at around 57 minutes. I’ve seen this recording 6 or 7 times. Sound and image may be poor, but the Italians did a wonderful job. While the movie Stop Making Sense is hopelessly focussing on David Byrne, the Italians give a clear view on all the musicians. In most concerts you hardly get a glimpse of the bass player, and in this recording you can see how Tina does a lot of these nice bass loops.

@@sex6cult9revolution In my opinion, aunt Tina is a very important bass player. The live album “the name of this band is talking heads” is dated 1982. At the time, I wondered why in some cases the base lines were marvelous and in some cases were hopeless. On seeing this video I could finally see the reason for this : Busta Cherry Jones is putting up a lot of visual show, while the real base playing is done by Tina.

@João de Arruda Campos Cardoso The answer has already been given 6 days ago by Drssexxy in his reply to the reaction of Sandra Otelli. I share his opinion, although he may be somewhat rude in the way he is saying things. But he seems to be knowing quite well what was going on in the group.

Sometimes, yes. The band is fantastic, but at other times the 80's Italian TV editing/production/effects is just irritating. Somebody should get their hands on the original tapes to this show and make a proper cut.

I saw them in 1980 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago (on the same stage my mother sang on in WW2) with this expanded ensemble. My chief memory of this was hearing "I Zimbra" Live and the downbeat was so loud and dramatic it sounded like the whole place was gonna collapse. Nice to see!

Belew made an already great, unique band that much better. There is no other guitarist like him; maybe the closest was Eddie Van Halen who could compete with that insane squealing, sound effects, and trickery.
