I do both. I took a darkheart nursery sour d clone (verified by aj) and bought topdawgs chem91 #12 (extremely close genetically)regular seeds. I planted 25 seeds in 2gal pots with supersoil in a 8x4 tent and culled all the females keeping the males. Picked one with the best smell and phylotaxi and bred him to the sour d, but taking a clone of the pure sour d and setting it aside. Took the seeded clone's seeds and planted another 25 and found a really nice male. Bred him to the original clone after taking another clone. I did this 4 times and got the seed stock uniformity to 85% with three cultivar types showing. Sour-d, chem 91, and a rare but nasty skunk variant. Top dawg released sour dub diesel which had an excellent diesel Pedigree so i popped a pack and got a squat female shaped male with tight flower clusters I took that male and went back to my pure clone and did it again four times. Now im working the two quad BX lines together and i truly believe my seed wipes the floor with the original cut. Uniformity still hovers between 85 and 95% after 3 more generations Im doing the same with chemdog using HSO's chemdog (old seed stock regular from the wooden packs) male and a stardawg clone female. Moral of the story is, if you have a 4x8 and dont mind 9 years of seedy bud you can stabilize and make better seed versions of most clone only cuts Ps the chem line is cursed from my observation. Anyone selling cuts or seeds has really bad luck in life so I don't sell anything and never plan to. these will be heirlooms for my grown kids and friends.
Are Blueberry Muffin seeds available in South Africa? While our climate is similar to that of California, we have different varieties of pathogens. So crossing with our landraces could be a way to introduce genes better able to combat these. It would be great if future interviews would address this issue ('blending' exotic varieties with native ones to preserve desirable traits while improving disease resistance)
Both work, seed has an advantage when planted in the ground, the taproot can provide alot of water and nutes. But once you find a winner, you gotta clone it or breed to it. IBL lines can provide a more stabe crop than a heavily crossbreed f1. Or pop a pack of landrace and dry farm, for a crop that requires no/minimal water and food. Its all about application and needs/desires.
One cannot be without the other, the seed is where it starts. I had good seed plants in the outdoors, they were healthier and easier to grow, clones take alot of attention to live ,alot more work.
@@thomassiegfried5409 respectfully, I’ve tried many top tier breeders. Maybe too many. Spent thousands over the years on beans. I usually get very frosty, instagram bud with minimal to no terps. Terpy, frosty bud that produces is a minimum for HBC. If you don’t think they are the best, who’s better???
I breed and grow my own gear I sourced from a brick mainly, in my opinion there is no best breeder, but others that have solid gear like Humboldt's are House of the Great Gardener, Green Source Gardens, Dutch Blooms, MeanGene, KDS Seeds, Bodhi, Exotic, Karma, Trichome Jungle, and many other small breeders who do work lines and phenohunt properly. I personally grow to see expressions and variances within the Cannabis Genome so I can see how if you're growing for meds and Sensi HSC would be your top, however not everyone has the same.e.gpals in mind with growing and breeding, apples to oranges.

@@timothylongmore7325 What is your cloning process .. I've tried putting the clippings in water, with/without CloneX.. tried soil... tried plugs, tried an incubator enclosure with/without heatpad .. etc.. lots of different ways and have obtained ZERO Root growth on all. REALLY Frustrating.
@@KrustyKlown My wife does all the cloning. I think she does it pretty much by the book. Cuttings are taken from mother plants. Off the bottom is best. Seeds for acreage. clones for indoor mono crops for mass production of a consistent profile.
I love poppin' beans, but I've seen some pretty vigorous cuts ! ✂️ 🌱💪🔥

53 years cannabis. Quit alcohol and tobacco 27 years ago. Losing weight and started exercising @ 66
Me too, both of them. Alcohol for good, tobacco I still get some about twice a year (it's just like taking a laugh at the devil's face).

You can`t get spider mites from seeds !

Good luck finding a seedling thats as good as the clone someone already chose. Very rare ...i have never witnessed it personally.
Spoken like a 22year old that gets weed from mommy.
I've witnessed it and never passed it along it does happen.

I have 2 strains I've been cloning for years. They produce the same quality and yield as they always have.
I know ppl that have had their prize cuts for over a decade. 💪💯

@st33lbeamz clones do grow better though, dick
Terps, bag appeal and yield with every harvest. Humboldt seed company is the best hands down!
I don't know about the best, but they certainly are fire and strong growing plants. There are a lot of solid breeders out there.

For the money spent in those seeds, they better b
😂😂 no definitely not
Once u find a keeper clone her. If not pop seeds til u find the right one for you then keep her around.
The only difference I've noticed is a seed will pass a clone if planted at the same time and the clone is small. Probably due to transplant shock.
Seeds have their place in the industry no doubt but so do clones. Auto flowers no thanks I stay away from any autos.
I dont understand why anyone would bother with autos

Seeds have tap roots..clones do not
Big alcohol and tobacco don't like it. Weed is so much better than them.

My Experience: CLONES DON'T GROW AT ALL... literally, the clipping just die, no roots, nadda nothing, lol.
Well that obviously means that you suck at it. No offense, most people suck at it. Would you like to know how to kick ass at it?

Really? My clones will produce 2-3 pounds per plant , and I'm in northern NY.

I prefer growing form seed , stronger plants , but still run clones . knowing that there clones and grow like shit , hard to train .
